The only thing I can think of is when Audi Q5’s tailgate is up, the lights on the bottom of the vehicle flashes, but I heard it is for emergency purpose?
Really enjoy your channel since I found it last year. Really professional and straight to the point reviews. Even if I'm in Canada our car markets are pretty similar so it's still useful to watch! It's definitely one of the best car reviews channel. 👌🏽
The advantage of driving around in vehicles, that don't have instrument/guage cluster similar to contemporary digital equipment, such as Smartphones and Tablet is that they offer a sense of detachment from the everyday handheld devices. A sense of detachment that could be found admirable by a consumer class. I spend a fair bit of time on my smartphone. Driving around in my 1996 Mercedes-Benz C200 Classic is somewhat therapeutic. No touchscreen, no fancy apps, but just the pleasure of driving around in a classic capsule offering the sight of the bonnet mounted three point star. Quite rewarding!
There's so much going on with the design. From afar, it looks like a clean concept car but a closer look reveals that the details are too much, like those weird fins and lines all over the place. Looking forward to seeing one in person though!
Matt doesn't like anything unless its European. I use to like watching his reviews until i realized how bias he is, hes like one of the worst reviewer to watch if your genuinely watching in the hope of getting the best advice.
This was very enjoyable to watch, Paul - well done. I just wish Hyundai would use the 8 speed auto in the family from the Stinger - an excellent gearbox they use in the Genesis too. Look forward to more videos.
Fine Review. (And don't forget the Panoramic Sunroof that is BEYOND!) Looking forward to the full review of the production model and all the details. Thanks!
Yeah this thing looks absolutely awesome. I love how unapologetic the exhaust pipes are. Manufacturers go out of their way to hide them best as possible but when they're stuck out like that, it looks great. However, the indicators being so low is a terrible idea. People in big vehicles may have trouble seeing them especially if they have a habit of driving too close to the vehicle in front.
I love the design. Really modern and quirky, but not to weird. The rest of the car seems great too (except for the piano black trim, it´s horrible), so overall I think it´s an awesome car. This car is really for people who don´t want a fast or exciting car, but a stylish and practical one. Hyundai does wonderful stuff lately, I hope they´ll continue doing so.
1st comment . Paul i deserve a like. The design is a total copy of more than 10 cars. The rav 4 wheel arches , front like a Mitsubishi pajero, diamonds like a Toyota chr, rear lights like Peugeot and a seat , steering wheel like a audi
Maybe hyundai copy 4 wheels, round steering wheel, 4 doors.... everyone has a different taste. For me Hyundai tying to make their own design language. Personally I prefer Kia's new design😂
Great review of a really terrific vehicle my friend!...I agree with all your points about this vehicle. Really like the N- Line touches on the exterior differentiating from regular non N- Line models.I also luv the interior , those incredible seats, the alcantara/leather material fantastic. The dash design is very nice & modern. Only minor complaint is no cowl/cover over the 10.25 instrument cluster, which I know has a glare coating on it. But I would prefer this cover. Loads of space in back & great cargo volume. My only other nitpicks are rear turn signals mounted low on the bumper, not a fan. And like you no HUD, a puzzling commission on this high spec N-Line! Great job my friend & can't wait to see one here in the states!
I’m really enjoying the look more and more. But I’m just in a good mood because I found my favourite Motoring Journalist again and that might be swaying my opinion
The design looks pretty good for the class, with just the right amount of aggressiveness/sharpness. My only concern is the ambitious pricing Hyundais seem to adopt these days.
Thank you for doing the review on Tucson. Ever since I saw the new 2021 model , have been in love it. As a new driver currently owning Hyundai ioniq, definitely this would be next car. Hyundai in my opinion has nailed the design both exterior n interior. Ticks all the boxes for me. Was worried the Ioniq 5 might change my mind nah sticking with this .
Great review. The new Tucson is really good car for family. Question : between the Tucson and the MG HS, whish is the more valuable for a small family ? Thanks a lot for your good work.
i know looks are controversial and are unique to each person's taste. but i kinda like it. it's weird, yes there may be too many things going on with the exterior design, but i like that it tries to stick out from the crowd. it's that one weird vehicle you stare at because it pops out from the rest of the cars you see everyday.
Will take delivery of an130n DCT in about a month but would certainly be interested in a Tuscan N as well. Hyundai build great reliable products for a sharp price IMHO
For all the family, Tuscon's Long Wheel Base Version is a massive winner. Good going Hyundai. And thanks Paul for your excellent review.[ps. agree re the piano black. a showroom hit but a real world miss. Also actual knobs would be welcome.]
It´s an amazing Car. Best SUV in Europe. You´ve got a lot of Space for luggage. I love this Car and i´m only waiting for the N-Line to come in Germany!!!!
Agreed! We only had a brief stint with the car and I didn’t use the radio much. When we get one for test that’s something that I suspect will frustrate me.
A great review as always Paul !! The digital speedo is good but looks a bit out-placed with its 10 inch size here and you are spot on Mazda should worry now cx5 like the cx9 will start to show its age now
If only the outgoing 3gen Tuscon had the interior of the new 4gen Tuscon. As for the N-Line i really thought it would have been at least a Hybrid option with the 1.6t and electric motor, generating 230hp combined Or maybe Hyundai's 2.0 T from the i30 N/Veloster N and keeping the 2.5L T for the full fat Tuscon N as you mentioned in the video. Great content as always, cheers.
I have to say I like it, I own a 2019 Tuscon Ultimate with the 2.4L and the new 2021 Santa Fe Hybrid and we love it. This new interior design looks good on this Tucson and will be the same interior that will go into the Santa Cruz and Tucson also North America will get the 2.5L turbo 275 horsepower and Europe will get the 1.6L Turbo 177 horsepower and that's not enough
Im looking at getting rid of an XV in Q2 2021 and the current Tucson was leading my choices (prefer it in look and feel to the RAV4) .. should I hold out a bit longer ??
Hi Paul, do you have an idea of when we might find out about availability and pricing? We've been holding off buying something else for months but they've taken too long and we'll have to go down another road now.
Hopefully in the next few weeks. We have spec now - I’d wait just a little longer if you can! My bet is it’ll be more expensive. But hopefully not too much.
For the type of person (a mum), a high performance version is completely unnecessary. And they'd most likely think the extra wonga be better spent on German premium. But as a marketing tool / halo product, maybe an N may make it (doubt it tho) Great review!
Great design except for door handle placement. Why not camouflage them in the design crease? Perhaps the may look ok when standing in front of it. Would be great to have navigation/maps visible on steering screen like in discovery sport.
I sat in one today as they just arrived in dealers. Very impressed for the most part but I have concerns about the media system and no physical buttons.
I don’t know how I feel about this one. Just bought a 2021 Ford Escape ST line and feel like all the other SUVs in this market don’t go near it performance wise. Interior looks nice though!
What colour is that car in this video? I’ m told that Hyundai are only suppling 4 colours on the N-line, White Cream, Phantom Black, Titan Grey and Crimson Red (only available on the N-line)

Not something I'd buy but jeez take a moment to appreciate the engineering that went behind making the dies for those body panels.
Yep, hydroforming is a bloody brilliant process!
Hyundai’s did a great job on the exterior lighting xcept for those rear turn signals at the bottom of the bumper
It's definitely a strange placement!
Was just about to say...WTF are those!
Imagine having a huge semi behind you. Those turn signals would be a bit hard for the driver to notice. Maybe I'm wrong. I hope I'm wrong.
It’s not like it’s the first car to ever have the indicators on the rear bumper
The only thing I can think of is when Audi Q5’s tailgate is up, the lights on the bottom of the vehicle flashes, but I heard it is for emergency purpose?
Huge, huge jump in design and quality. Looks fantastic.

I think the low indicators are an ADR thing. The hidden exhaust is to comply with EPA noise measurement.

I’m hoping they’re sensible with the price. There’s a stack of new tech, but it needs to remain good value for money.
