@@drallimylime no worries mate. Paul seems like a correct lad, hopefully we will see some music from him soon again. these 2010 gorillaz concerts are his last big gigs.
It's because they poured a SHITLOAD of money into this tour. To the point where after it ended on 21 December, 2010 at the Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand they had only *_JUST BARELY_* managed to break-even! Meaning they made a whopping $0.00 (or rather £0.00) in profits off of this tour. The amount of money they had before doing this tour is the same amount of money they had at the end of it. And they came *THIS* close to finishing the tour with *LESS *money than they started with! And by the end of the tour, they also thought that it was going to be the last Gorillaz tour EVER. Seriously. At the tour's last concert in New Zealand, Damon told the crowd that it was likely going to be the last Gorillaz concert ever to be performed EVER. And he was even tearfully hugging everyone on stage throughout the show and there was a real sense of finality to it. It really came off as though that was the day Gorillaz ended. And he seemed to be correct because once that show ended, Gorillaz appeared to be broken up for good. Obviously a few days later on December 25, 2010 they would release _The Fall_ (comprised of songs that Damon wrote & recorded & created using an iPad during the initial North American Leg of the tour in October of 2010). And there would be some promotion in 2011 for the compilation _Gorillaz: The Singles Collection 2001-2011,_ and then in the Fall of 2011, Converse Sneakers would hire Damon to make the song DOYATHING with Andre 3000 & James Murphy, which they did under the Gorillaz name and Jamie would also make a music video for it, both of which would release in February of 2012. But the two of them wouldn't be in contact with one another for that whole process. And once that was done, that seemed to be *IT.* The end of Gorillaz. Hell, the DoYaThing video almost comes off as a conclusion to Gorillaz in its own way. They all get evicted from their house and 2-D smiles and walks off, almost as if he'd been freed from Murdoc. Kinda works if you think aboot it!
The 2010 shows have a special place in my heart, and that's why I feel obliged to tell everyone who's looking for a higher quality version that actually, there's a 720p HD version of this concert on a platform called Bilibili. I finded a couple of days ago (or maybe was the gig who finds me) and even the audio quality it's way too long better, but the bad thing is that the platform dosen't allow the download of video or audio in its original quality in any way.
@@oddnoobswe1977 Jamie Hewlett. This is where they met each other and 10 months later, in September of 2011, they would get married. And still are to this day. He often uses her as a reference model when he draws Noodle nowadays.
To me its in my top ten gorillaz song. I swear it is pure beauty. And in this live. O my god. The beginning with HBE is amaaaazing. I wish it was in the studio. This song is just amazing
I went to see this tour in Manchester, UK back in 2010, and I was a little nervous to rewatch it out of fear that the reality wouldn't live up to the nostalgia and my memories. After watching this, I can safely confirm that it's even better than I remember
Well I don't think Ms. Albarn would much care, as Ms. Albarn would be his mother or his sister if he has one. I assume you meant _Mrs. Albarn,_ but there actually is no Mrs. Albarn anyway. There IS a woman with whom Damon has a daughter, but they're not actually married and idk what their relationship status is. But I don't think they were together at this point anyway. So yeah, Damon had no significant other who'd be upset over his hot 'n steamy performances with Yukimi Nagano. Same with when he'd perform _She's My Collar_ with Kali Uchis during the 2017 concerts. Which made me feel....weird considering the fact that Kali Uchis is the same age as me (turning 29 this year, but only 23 years old back in 2017; and Damon was 49 in 2017 - and turns 55 in a few days actually).
I guess I need to learn French so that I can understand what Jamie and Damon are saying in their interviews lmao... or if anyone has the original English audio/can translate it for me, I'd prefer that. I know no one will, but I'm just putting that out there.
Love the concert, thanks for posting! Is now def performing his parts or is it someone else?? It doesn’t sound like him to me and it’s driving me crazy!

The strange and wonderful era when half of The Clash was in Gorillaz
Gorillaz was perfection in 2010
Plastic Beach is what got me into them so agreed 100%. Song Machine has been great so far after how disappointing Humanz and The Now Now were.

it's because the bass player, Paul Simonon, picked the outfits. He also did so while in The Clash. He has a good sense of fashion.
