Gorillaz are the soundtrack to the last 25+years. I’ve been a huge blur fan before the came out. But ever since they did I’ve loved every second. I named my second son Murdoc. When I got sent to jail(unjustly) my friends would email me lyrics to make me feel better. When I had friends lol. Thank you for putting together this incredible movie. I’ve been taking f screen shots of them all my life cuz I wanted to get them all tattooed but can never afford it but now the pics move it’s great. I used to draw 2-d on my cell walls cuz I drew him so much.
Enjoyed it in the cinema but felt like there was not enough Jamie. As a cartoonist I was hoping to see some more behind the scenes art. Watching again, good to see some in the Now Now section. I think act 3 is my favourite.
I think there are a couple of reasons (and probably more) there wasn't more Jamie. 1) This documentary was made by his son. It's probably not very exciting to film/direct/edit your dad lmao 2) Jamie doesn't seem to like having his process recorded all that much. You can see it here a couple of times, where he's a lil facetious about having the camera around his work. Damon has also said before in interviews that Jamie likes to go off and do a lot of his work privately (I empathize a lot there lol). I would also love to see more Jamie because he's a huge inspiration for me as an artist, but I totally understand why not lmao
7:16 So this is how I find out that Gorillaz worked with the legend - Jean Michel Jarre? I haven't seen Gorillaz live, but I had the pleasure of seeing Jarre live twice. He's a pioneer of electronic music, a briliant musician so ahead of his time. My parents listened to him and now I do!
I really enjoyed the experience I had on theaters back in 2019 because I met many G-Fans and the documentary itself it's pretty good. Thank you Denholm for uploading it on RUclips, now I can watch it and remember that awesome night. Gorillaz for ever. 🙈🙉🙊

What an absolute gem of a film this is utterly brilliant and was almost disappointed when it had to end but we all get to see it and enjoy it and as a keyboard player myself I loved "keyboards R us with JM Jarre I could spend years in there
I was at the first show of the Humanz tour for the Demon Dayz day festival in Margate, Kent (where I grew up mostly), I was 16 at the time. My first CD as a kid was Demon Days & if someone had told me they were gonna start their post-time-off tour in ropey old Thanet I wouldn't have believed them at all...yet they did, and it was bloody mental!.....also my first time seeing a live show of that scale! Saw this doc in cinema when it came out - incredible editing/directing/camera work!
Is the music video montage at the very beginning using native 1080p footage or it's just upscales? A lot of the classic (phases 1-3) videos in Gorillaz' channel are stuck at 720p (Stylo is the only one at 1080p) so many would really like a quality upgrade if native HD versions do exist. If that's the case I think those should've definitely been used as concert visuals too.
And to think that I listened to Clint Eastwood (It should be noted that i didn’t knew the name in that time) when I was 5 (2006) because of one of my cousins, she was hearing them on the radio. The song kept stuck in my mind for some time, I wish I could asked her who was singing because the music was good but I stopped hearing the music after a L O N G time. I guess it was in 2014 (I was 13) when I heard the song DARE and like every curious kid I looked for the lyrics on the internet and well… Let me tell you what after hearing everything and discover who was the band that made this amazing music, I’ve never felt (maybe if I can say it like this…?) changed. Jamie and Damon, everything because you were sitting on a couch watching MTV leaded you to create something worldwide wonderful. I want to thank you for being part of my life, I loved your music so much I’ll do my best to go to one of your concerts. Mister Denholm Hewlett, thank you so much for uploading this amazingly tour, I really felt like if I was on a real concert haha 😅. Thanks Gorillaz for changing a little part of my life ❤. I hope you guys can keep this extraordinary work of yours.
Anyone is from Russia Fans please make russian subtitles I did not go to the cinema to see this film and I became a fan at the end of 2021, no swearing please in subtitles
I think there’s a part missing. There’s a point where they play “We Got Power.” Jehnny Beth had the main focus but they cut to Graham Coxon and Noel Gallagher
Honest question? Gorillaz at one point stopped for a few years because Albarn used less and less of Hewlett’s Gorillaz videos, which caused them to stop talking for years, did Albarn stop using the videos because of the satanic symbolism Hewlett would put throughout the videos more and more?
I feel like Plastic Beach's failure led to the two fighting a lot, because I feel like Damon doesn't really care about the imagery, he wouldn't have written Murdoc is God otherwise
@@teizererikoI don’t think it’s sarcasm. It’s not lost media, since it’s uploaded here on RUclips in its completion and other details, like who made it, are known. I hope this clears it up.
i fucking loved when he said, there is no wrong or right, there is only how we do.
what a fucking legend
also what the fuck is vic mensa doing in the studio lol
Thank you Denholm for putting the 3 acts together and uploading it as the definitive version
Loco that explains why he took down your videoa
Now we know why he took your videos, yeah yeah, but los subtítulos??
30:03 Jamie with the overcrowded artist response "what are you doing, exactly?" to being filmed, god I love him.
i’ve come to genuinely believe that when you walk in to this studio everything becomes black and white and
I love the bit about C02 will change your world and then Gorillaz is shown jet setting across the far east on tour. Marvelous.

Wish there was a version of O Green World where the guitar was this prominent.
It sounds so badass and sexy

Yeah I figured he isn't fond of being filmed while drawing. Anyone knows which comic they are flipping through at some point?
God that beginning with Ben Mendelsohn is always so damn good. Love that he was part of this album and project in general
Thanks for putting this out! Someone tried to sell it for a thousand bucks the other night. You deserve the recognition ❤ Amazing stuff
For real, the fact someone tried to betray you in such a huge way is insane. Glad you got the one-up before anything was secured.
Note to anyone who cares, apparently this is not necessarily the same cut that was being sold, but it's hard to tell what's true and what's a lie lol
