I love you guys and 1080P excitement and enthusiasm, whenever there's a brand new XG song. I agree, these Ladies are a breath of fresh air, in my opinion. TGIF is a fantastic groove to go with the last couple of weeks in Summer. This song is such a catchy, fun, and positive vibe. Also, this song kind of has an Electronica/House music flavor to it, again, my opinion. Harvey's signature voice is so unique sounding, I agree with you guys, she adds a something special in every XG song. I still remember Harvey's edgy voice in Tippy Toes. And, I love the tone of Maya's voice. She has a nice flow as well. All of XG have this Swagger and confidence about them, that is admirable. Their choreography is top tier and incredibly in sync, these Ladies perform like they have been in the industry for decades. Agree, performance at HITC was great (when you could locate them in the sea of dancers ha)! Curious though, thoughts on the (continued) lip syncing while live? That is the only thing holding me back from saying XG is THE most talented group on the planet right now (for reference, watch any NMIXX concert, dance practices, etc., all live vocals with extreme choreo, too). Sure hope they integrate live singing, I know they can do it😎
@@bretthollingsworth9866 they were moslty singing live. It's hard to do choreo and singing at the same time especially their insane dance moves. They've sang live a lot so I'm not worried. Their "It's Live" performance of Shooting Star for one, their live performances of Tippy Toes and Mascara when they first started to do live performances. Their recent GRL GVNG performance at Inkigayo was full on live vocals. There's nothing wrong with that. Many other idols do the same. And like you said, you know they can do it and I know they can. The group is still new. And they are currently the best in my opinion GG right now.
I once said XG reminds me of OutKast how every time they release something new it's style is totally different. And TGIF is to XG what B.O.B. was to OutKast for me. And I had pretty much the same reaction where I was caught off guard and skeptical about the dance beat. But ending up liking it. One thing this song did solidify for me is tha I need a Tape featuring Maya & Cocona rapping over the B.O.B. beat. I'm sure Maya can replicate Andre's flow, Cocona probably could too but Maya's pronunciation makes her faster flow better.

I totally agree with Dame here!! I'm a huge fan of XG, but I can still admit this wasn't my favorite, but I don't hate it. When I listen to anything XG-related, I always have that line from one of their tapes where Cocona says "XG bout to break your idol stereotypes" in my head. So that's where my mind was when I watched TGIF MV. That in mind, I think XG is *absolutely* still breaking idol boundaries in this song with the lyrics alone, yet we also get the bonus that the MV is so wildly fun to watch. The way I'm looking at it now- I think even if you don't like the beat or song much, I think anyone can still really enjoy the super wild music video. That's an interesting duality Truly "New DNA"

Honestly, I agree with the dude. I'm fan but didn't like this song as much as the others they've put out. I expected way more given the MASSIVE pool of talent they have with vocals and rap. It just didn't resonate with me the way Shooting Star and Left Right did, hoping to get another banger like these in the upcoming album. Either way, XG is fire.
Yeah, I don't like it as much as their other songs, but its still a fun song that I'll vibe along with if it plays. like you I expected a lot more vocals and rap but like Ace said this shows they versatility and how experimentative they can get with they music. Kinda shows some guts and balls too to not stick to they signature sound. I imagine this gon be a big hit in they live shows, going to get everybody dancing

I mean every artist has their lane, I think XG will eventually go down the path that every other artist goes down with a ballad or love song or etc, but atm it’s ok about them and their self love, if you want girl crush, boy crush, or etc there’s a dozen groups out there, XG has their own niche let them be.
