I thought it was going to be about the singer but it turns out it was someone much much better. Thanks Criterion! and don't forget. Please have your service be available in the middle east.
I did a serious Maltese Falcon poster, after bring completely dismayed over all the U.S. posters. A couple foreign jobs are ok. I projected the film and then selected frame areas to photograph, then built a 27x41 poster, also including all the national screen service text and blue cross guides that you can see on othet posters from the era. I bought a Maltese repro bird, and gave it dramatic lighting with beams coming off it leading to the various images I chose to surround it. But faces above this central motif looked down to it, and faces below looked up to it. I added an author graphic with a typewriter in the bird's shadow. Fortunately I worked at a photo lab, so printing this 300 d.p.i poster cost me nothing. Except the damn framing.
Great work! If you love inspiration some time ago I bought Polish Poster Book (huge, loaded with treasures) " "OTO SZTUKA POLSKIEGO PLAKATU" BY DOROTA-FOLGA JANUSZEWSKA. I KNOW IT WAS AN ENGLISH VERSION AS WELL. GOOD LUCK , LOVE AGATA
Hausu poster hijacked my eyes years ago. That effective simplicity. So there is the man itself! Fine artist.
John Smith we need a reprint - I want it soooo bad

This is absolutely wicked.
Are these scribbles a hint that Criterion will release an "OZU" box set?

@5:04 Ummmmm, does that mean The Master is coming to Criterion?!
I don't think he just does work for Criterion. Looks like he gets commissioned to do work for theaters, festivals, etc. It also seems to be a hobby.
Great guy even greater art
He must be a good artist. To pull off a string of beads like that!! My chin hit the floor. Not joking.

Sam's Myth *

This 'threadless' aesthetic is getting old, throw all of this to 2006 where it belongs.
Jmho dude is not a good artist
What's it like being blind?
This man is uncomfortable to look at
I see crappy art everywhere in this video.
