I was having a goddamn panic attack when she wanted to paint it gold or sage. In spaces where someone is editing with colours you want either white, 18% grey or black. Any colours introduced into a space mess with how your eyes perceive the colours on your screen. Also any lights should have a daylight bulb not a warm white... and curtains to block the light coming in through the window hahaha. But super cute space, love that print and the plants are really lovely.
@@karinenormandin8537 So maybe even a thick a curtain to mute the voices a little bit? He would still be able to hear them, although I think some noise cancelling headphones may be in order now, too.
when I saw you cut above the node I ran to the comments to make sure everyone was being nice lmao the community you've built here is so cool and positive everyone is so kind here
Oh. I was thinking something similar. Her “squiggles” were off in terms of scale. Fewer repeats would have looked better. Longer wavelength and a variety of amplitudes. More akin to rolling hills than cute scallops. I also thought all three walls should have been painted.
So glad someone else said it! Just using a circular stencil to make the crests and troughs would have made her pattern more uniform, like a sine wave (without being a true sine wave).
The space looks totes fab Team AG . . . . but I do miss the Industrial windows. They really added to the uniqueness of the space. The new windows just look like apartment windows now, maybe consider adding mullions to them.
I do think those 'squiggles' could have worked if they were even and you used a mug/glass/small paint tin to draw around, but at the same time I quite like the straight line because it matches the industrial vibe of the space generally so maybe happy accidents
I am so in love with how you take care of your employee/coworkers. It’s more like a family than a workspace. That Gay Writes notebook was perfect for James. And yeah - everyone loves him! ❤️
I thought it looks cute. Some sound proofing would have been ideal for someone who edits since it's in close proximity to the other desks. A divider that mufflers sound behind the chair and some panels on the wall would have been a nice touch!
I love how you incorporate your team more and more into your videos! It is not only entertaining but also indicative that you have a healthy work environment.
I like that you tell us what you're NOT going to do, what you've decided against and what you're NOT going for. It really helps me to learn a lot more from your videos than I've found anywhere else. I've been following you since pretty much the beginning, and I like to watch this genre of video every morning which means I've watched everything you've done already, so I've had to look elsewhere for more content, and it's just unsatisfying and hard to learn from other people most of the time. They just don't let people in on the creative process like you do, which helps me to be aware of things to consider when working on my own space and projects. I really like that about your videos
That couch is everything! Love your mishaps it shows us you're human like us and make mistakes. The nook is great and James is fabulous! Love the journal you got him.
I was laughing with all of you when you tried to 'randomly' stencil on the wall. It wasn't good. However, the end result was so good! Glad he liked it! (By the way, glad you corrected to cut the plant below the node.)
EXACTLY what I am worried about myself. Nothing worse than a glare on the screen when editing, as well as having non-neutral colours behind the screen (best stick to white, dark grey, black)
Haven't seen James before, but it took all of that two second clip of him petting the cat for me to fall in love. Also, Alexandra, thank you for being such a ray of damn sunshine all the time, it is impossible to not be in a better mood when watching your videos xxx
1. I really love your personality and you have made my time off from work a joy. 2. That deadpan shot to James in his apartment stroking his assumedly evil cat on his den/lair: muah, perfection.
The painting set the vibe!!! Maybe I would add a rug for extra coziness. Well done alexandra. I was laughing so hard on how confident you were on the first attempt to paint the wall, ending up hating it. Making over is a process. Sara Nena DIY
As a person who worked in an office for many years, a rug would be a hinder. Bare floor or maybe a desk mat would be best depending on how much he moves around. I know a desk mat isn’t “cool vibe” but, I’m sure they will figure it out as time goes on.
James is 100% awesome. Just a humble soul. I am here for his own channel. He can just be talking about nothing. I love seeing this wonderful human being. Awesome people come from God. 🙏
Maybe you could paint the mustard yellow above the navy I think it would enhance the art since it has a light border around the image also the frame is a warm color and last the mustard will tie in with the couch in the other area
As always, the transformation is AMAZING! The print is totally James vibe like you said!! ♥️ Also I laughed so hard at the Hilary duff Disney channel clip James put in lmao 😂
i love native! i have tried every other vegan friendly, natural deodorant and have had horrible pit burns but native actually works and doesnt hurt me!
How about chaining your windows back that industrial type with electrical tape like lone fox did in his living room (in his case he did it to change the color) I would love that!
Was about to note the same thing! Perhaps the team likes the new window frames as they lighten up the overall look. However, if they want that somewhat more striking look back, black paint & electrical tape a la Lone Fox!
Soooo you guys are a joy to watch!!! Please please keep up the laughter and thank you for your inspiration. And tysm James for your fabulous editing!! Love you guys!!
I loove the decor in James's editing nook - especially the wall, that print and the planters. 😍 Regarding noise - trust them. He and Alex will have discussed that right at the start. James will probably wear headphones over his gorgeous locks. 🎧 My only concern is light reflection off the monitor. But that's easily fixed with a folding screen that can be opened behind him. 💕
I was hoping that AG would add a small runner that would sit under Jame's chair to just finish it off. It would also help to absorb sound and make it even cozier.
I needed a good laugh and “I hate it” did it for me. AG, you are truly amazing. And then the light clonked onto the wall! Omg, what a fun ride to such a beautiful end result ❤️
Alexandra, I’ve been using Native for quite a while now since you suggested it when I first started watching you. Love the product! Thanks! Happy New Year wishing you Health, Love and Happiness! 🥂🍾⭐️🇨🇦
OMG Alex, your studio makeover is amazing! I love your vision, your color choices and motivation to make your dreams come true. Such a fan! I look forward to seeing what 2021 will bring. Congrats!
I like the wavy paint idea so I looked around and found some Bulletin Board Borders that are wavy shaped. They're for kids classrooms but they look thick enough that you could just put them on the wall and use as a stencil
I thought when you said they were going to change the windows, you meant they were going to replace the broken glass. I didn’t think it meant they were changing out the windows to a new style. So disappointed. It totally changed the old industrial vibe that was rockin.
The old windows might have been very drafty and not very practical for energy efficient! I replace my old windows last year and I’m so glad I did especially cause it makes a huge difference during colder and darker months. Let the heat stay and the light in, baby!
Great print choice. I never mentioned my thoughts about the older, industrial windows because I didn't want to be a joy-sucking Negative Nellie, but now that you have replaced them: YEEESSSSS! Not only do they look great and let the sun in, but they don't stand out too much. I thought the old ones took to much attention away from all of the other wonderfulness that is the new Team AG space. Happy New Year! So happy for you.
I would have been so hyped to see the color go on part of the walls on the sides because I think it would have make the space look bigger. Imma try it on sketchup!
I love each and every space in your new studio, and can't wait for the guided tour! Love James' new space and James is a hoot! It'll be great to see you all working together soon. The space looks brilliant!

If you are allowed to, it might be nice to paint the window frames black to bring back the more industrial look, to add elements of the dark wall in the editor's nook, and to frame the work/living space.

Hey Alexandra! Happy New Year, hope everything is well! Loved this series! Everything turned out awesome! The only thing I will miss are the old windows, but the new windows are beautiful & better for office functionality. Blessing and better things to come your way!
The first peek inside James’ undesigned nook made me feel like he was in trouble and being sent to the corner.😬Ha ha! But now I love it! That print is perfection! What a find! HI EVERYONE her friend Eva said to keep the node because that's where the root grows from!! I swear I'm a good friend!!!!!!!
Dying.
Haha I was just thinking about that 😂 I was like umm I’m pretty sure those won’t grow if there’s no node
This comment made my day. 😂
Ya, you need to get the next node up submerged in water since you cut off the node that you needed at the bottom lol

Friends who are going to propagate plants!!! I messed up my friend Eva’s advice! I meant to say cut BELOW the node, not above!!!

I wondered about that. LOL I was sure you need the node. ;)
lol
Yeah when you said that at first I was like, did your friend straight up lie to you LOL
Exactly lol 😆
I want to talk about the fabulousness that is James' hair.
Not to mention the fabulousness that is James. 💜💜
I want James to drop his hair routine/product list
Can't find him on the gram! I need more of his energy 😍💚
Can you do a “Meet ______” (ie: Meet James 🥰🥰🥰) series where we get to meet the magicians behind Team AG? Would love to learn more about your team!
I just did a video (the 2020 review video) where I introduce the team at the end!
I love the way James has been throwing in the random little clips! 😂
I used to work with James at Fresh. Can verify his coolness.

I was thinking the same thing. Don’t make patterns!!! It’s going to give him a headache 🥴😂
curtain is a must, especially that the desk were you will be talking is not far from the nook

James' editing is on point. Give that man a raise.
James has such a fun energy, I love seeing when he inserts himself in the editing, or using sassy gifs to show his expression. So funny
You could try the scallop stencil alternating right side up and upside down to get a wavy line that's more precise!
Ok though has anyone else be wishing for an inch of gold line on top of that scrumptious navy?
Great idea!
Oooh yes!
At the beginning of the video where James was sitting there striking the "cat", loved it.
Did you mean stroking as opposed to striking (hitting)? 😂
James is such a mood and I am HERE for it!! 🐱
The math teacher in me is sad that she’s not there to make you a perfect sine wave... or cosine (my personal fave) #nerdsunite

He needs a little divider between the nook and the rest of the room. Or at least a mirror so he can tell when someone comes behind him.
I think so too.. he will work in headphones and jump up every time someone is near.... or at least they can rotate the desk..
Yep, good feng shui
