Hola from Spain ! Im actually British but i live here in the beautiful Canarian island of Tenerife. Im a pretty outgoing kind of person but ive always been shy about being on camera. You have inspired me to try a youtube channel. I know you dont like the word 'Inspire' but that is what you have done. I think im going to make a channel helping people understand everyday Windows troubleshooting since im an IT teacher in 'Real Life'. I only have my phone and my laptop for audio and video, but if its really terrible i can always delete it (I hope ! ) . Good luck to everyone out there who is in a similiar position 😃
Wow thanks for this video I’m 55 and just starting my channel and your Google ideas have saved and now my list for ideas are running off the page. Thanks
I’ve been making videos since 2013. My issues mostly do with posting, I am seldom happy with my editing, so I don’t . I am thrilled with you site. I am going to try harder. You are inspiring. (BtW, I am 68). Keep on keeping on. 🌴🌴Aloha
Kevin. You like me would benefit from different glasses.....its like your looking out at us through your car windshield.Translucent frame ! You can keep the hair its friendly.
Great video! I love when I learn something new from a video. I had no idea that there was an inspiration tab in the analytics tab. Thanks for the new knowledge.
Bonsoir from France. I love ideas videos like this to get me focused and I had no idea about the inspiration tab so thank you. I watched another one recently and one of the suggestions was to look at magazines in your field of interest. Even the covers showing what main articles are inside can be good pointers.
Kevin, I've really been enjoying your channel. Tons of great information. Thank you. My question; where are you getting your royalty-free animated background images? The one in this video is the RUclips play button rocking back and forth. I would also love to pivot and do a rebrand of the channel since we're no longer making videos but I still want to. All the best, Steve
The background on those animations is just a solid background in Final Cut Pro. The animated logos come from MotionVFX, specifically the Tuber3 pack. You can check it out here (affiliate): www.motionvfx.com/?irgwc=1
Thank so much. You speak so clearly. Wow i think i can learn English listening from your chanel. It not only helps me learn youtube knowledge but also inspires me about learning english. I’m 32 years old and I am very eager to get involved in digital content creation ❤❤❤
Thank you Kevin.. great video… I didn’t know about the RUclips tab.. and the extra ? When you scroll down on RUclips. Wow so much value in this video… Thank you Sir💪😊🔥
Your videos have gotten me to thinking about doing a RUclips channel once again. The thing that keeps holding me back, well, let's be honest here, one of the things that holds me back is what I want to share on my channel. I write rather regularly and post what I've written on Facebook and Medium. My thought is to read and record my writings on my channel but I wonder if they're too short. Typically, I write about a thousand words which works out to 5-6 minute read time. All pieces are my thoughts about almost anything that comes to mind so finding a niche may be nigh on impossible but nonetheless, I'd like to do this and am interested in your thoughts. I found you because you were talking about being older and starting on YT. For reference, I'm 74. Thanks for what you're doing. All my best to you and yours. (I also have a special needs child so bless you and yours.).
Simple. Do it. Length is irrelevant. What matters is what you say, what you teach, what you share. Let that guide you and go for it. And shout-out to another special needs dad too!
Great video! The research methods you present incorporate actionable steps and you have a talent for simple straightforward guidance on how to do it. I'm just getting started and focused on success with RUclips. I'm 63 (Shoot I just remembered, my birthday is tomorrow 8/30/60). Hey, I'm still 63 going on 64. Message to Kevin and all of my older and wiser brothers and sisters here! Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks! Keep Going! (subscribed and following you Kevin).
New to your channel. Very helpful content. Content that actually provides what you promise in the title 🙌 I have another channel that is faceless. Both of my channels are not doing well. Hoping to learn from you and change that
Good video Kevin, I agree facebook groups are great for ideas. I just wanted to add that reddit is awesome too, a lot of people in my niche ask very specific questions there. My most recent video spawned there, it was relatively low effort compared to most of my videos and its currently a 2/10.
Kevin, I am 75 soon to be 76. I am very interested in what you do. How long have you been doing RUclips? I think I could benefit from you, what was your first video?
English is not my first language and I have a accent when I talk . I love to create english chanel but I am afraid that audiences won't like my channel. BTW, what is your insight about having a bilingual channel? Advantages and disadvantages? Thank you. You are a great teacher.
Hello Kevin, I would like for my channel to cover multiple topics. My interests are 3d printing, movie reviews, drone hobbyist, and just general conversation. Is it possible to have a channel that is not centered around one central topic?
Those are all cool ideas! Yes you can but you need to decide what success looks like for you, what you want to get out of it. Having too many different topics may make it harder to grow but may be what you want. Watch this next to see if it helps: ruclips.net/video/jxJB3CBHmLA/видео.html
I find myself in a niche, and I'm limited as to the content being distributed. The content has sub topics that could be covered, and not be regurgitating the same info. How does go about coving the odd topics in the niche, without losing veiwer retention and not downplaying the content ?
Hi Kevin, me from Italy again, with a couple of questions 😉: a) do you agree with the phrase "you are the niche"? Because if that statement is true then it means that starting a "general" YT channel that includes my different interests would be better than picking one main topic/interest of mine and start a YT channel focused on that topic only. What would you suggest? I did watch your other video you mentioned but I'm still a bit confused on this 😅 b) Being Italian and based in Italy it would make sense to make videos in Italian however I'm aware that videos in English would probably reach a potentially wider audience but this might alienate the potential Italian audience? Maybe a mixture of both, meaning some videos in Italian and some videos in English? I'm a translator and I also teach English so if I get to convince myself to be on camera 😅 it'd be nice to do some videos in English as well c) I have zero video editing knowledge: should I do a proper course online? Any suggestions? Sorry for the super long post and thank you in advance for your kind feedback! 😎
Regarding you being the niche. It sounds good but not sure really what it means. If you have a personal channel, like I do, I'm part of the niche or area of focus I'm talking about.
They can be. Most I've found haven't started and just like to grind people. If they cross a line, I delete the comment or block them, but only if they cross a certain line. Otherwise, I just remind myself that God defines me not a hater. 😁
hi you have great talent! but your channel seems to be moving ! great job , i’m too struggling with what to do ! so thanks sorry but invest in better glasses distracting every time your glasses slip i get irritated , just try get better no slip glasses please , thanks guess you overlooked this but i saw it very clearly so the little things can un glue a video fast sorry
The forced Lenux is another example of how RUclips is still in the early stages of pointing viewers in the right direction. The consensus is to blame the people uploading videos for having a wide variety and not being specific with one topic. ( This puzzles me; the suggestion is for a person to take Math 101 forever? That just isn't how humans behave....except when it comes to the same breakfast day after day...week after week ). tHanks for the video
Thank you Kevin, great channel. I just posted my first video this week. I'm 54 years old, retired with my wife in Vietnam and really starting this to help others. If I ever get monetized 1'Il donate it all to charities here in Vietnam. love what you do and I'm glade I found your channel. @usa2vietnam

It's called VideoAsk. After trying it for a bit, I opted out.

Put the content out there and see what resonates. Too easy to play "what if?" and not really see what clicks.
