I really can’t believe the difference you have made in such a short space of time. I especially love the orchard garden and how it’s filling up. It’s so pretty. Well done with all your hard work ❤
I love the way the music makes it seem so light and easy when in reality it is back breaking work lol
It’s all part of the ✨illusion✨🤣😂💗
When I first saw your new yard, I found it to be so overwhelming. I cannot believe how much you have done and how beautiful it has become.
You and Jason should get walkie talkies for when you're on opposite sides of the house and need some help lol
If you’re watching, subscribe. Janey and Jason are always worth the watch 💕💕💕
I never miss an episode and always watch to the end. I wish the videos could be longer, but I know is a lot of work. I really don’t know how she does everything that she does, she is a super woman!
💯
🥹🙏🏼💗
Although the original obelisk was beautiful, the new obelisk does fit the space better. The rose bloom color looks spectacular on video, so I can only imagine how it looks in person. BTW, Don't be ashamed of all the purple either, because that stands out really nicely too, especially the way you have it contrasted with the orange and yellow flowers. You are doing an amazing job Janey! I look forward to watching your videos every morning with my breakfast. It's so relaxing. 💕
Hey Janey! Love the addition of the yellow. 😊💛Just a suggestion. I follow a Rosarian and she said to never stuff a climbing rose inside an obelisk. To always wrap the canes along the outside of the structure so you can access them for pruning, maintenance and air flow. It's a common mistake by a lot of gardeners. Keep up the great work!! Love that Jason is full time with you! ❤
I really like how you did not use the fast speed when you planted the plants. So relaxing to watch this. Thank you.
Lol, we don’t say a sweaty mess in the south, we say glistening, lol. And I glisten a lot! When I finish around mid 80degrees, I look like some has poured a bucket of water over me! My neighbor across the street gets a lot of work done outside while I’m glistening too! I look like I’m entering a wet t-shirt contest! Lol hugs and love y’all from Texas!
QUESTION FOR THE SATURDAY COFFEE CHAT: Hi Janey, your garden looks absolutely beautiful, but when you mention that you fertilize your plants weekly I can’t help and wonder how many packages/containers of fertilizer do you use in a week to maintain your plants looking so good and how much money would be that?. Same with the rose fertilizer and all the extra stuff that you need to make the “magic mix”, how many rose bushes can you fertilize with a small bag of fertilizer like the one that you show today?. I wonder because I don’t fertilize my garden and I want it to look full of blooms all the time but I don’t know if I could afford it; I am also new to roses and I am trying to grow them. I hope you see my question and can answer, I know other people is asking the same. Have a great day!
The pink salvia with the yellow looks great! I love the purple nepeta with the kniphofia in the background too! Obelisk is so much better proportion. 🌸💕🌺
Had to smile a little-my Rise Up Liliac Days is now 12 feet tall in my Southern California garden. I think things just grow bigger in California! PS-you can never have too much purple!
Have a great weekend, the garden is beautiful with all the blooms. Great team work.
Purple and Yellow are perfect together!! I have a Q? Are you self taught on all your gardening experiences? Like doing the drip line/irrigation etc. You never cease to amaze me!
Yes, the new obelisk fits the garden to scale so much better. Good call, Janey. Jason, where is your large brim hat? Don't want to nag, but you need to keep that hot California sun off you. Good to see you in the garden with Janey now :)
I have to weed every day just to keep up! Oh well it’s very therapeutic!
I apologize ! I was wrong in saying in a past comment that you shouldn’t show all your plants from Proven Winners…. You go girl! What you are accomplishing in your new property with the help of proven winners, which by the way, I order now on their site! And also buy at my local Lowes are all doing great! You are so easy to watch and I learn a lot from you! Please accept my apology! I just love your content!
🫶
I just bought some plants called “little Janie”! They are so delicate and beautiful! I think they would be a great addition to your best for the west garden! Plant in honor of you!!!
WHAT?! Looking it up now!! 🤣
Janey the garden is looking fabulous. I love your choices of plants. I am always excited to watch your videos each night. xx
I just watched Jim Putnam and you need to see the black horizon fence in the garden tour. The garden is incredible too.
The yellow would be pretty to continue on the other side of the walkway also!
I think Jason can have his many Giant T-shirts and caps as he wants! Happy husband /gardening partner, happy gardening life! 🥰🌸🇨🇦
Love the Rise up orange/yell rose!
Your thumbnail was the most cherry thing to see on a rainy Minnesota day when I woke up this morning! Purple is my favorite color to have in the garden and I think it pairs so beautifully with yellow and orange!
So amazing to see your garden grow!
Hi Janey -If you put a fan outside your coop facing Into the run your littles will camp out in front of it during the heat of the day 🐓. Im starting to love yellow In the garden after never really using it years prior. Your garden is looking so good. Can you imagine a few more years from now 🤩.
Omg the the garden is really coming together 😍
Love the addition of this Sunglow Calyophus! Love the purple in the garden. There are some great purple penstemons for No Ca. Check out the native gold or yellow flowering native Fremontedendon ? aka flannel flower. It's great!
My husband has a tee that says "Eat, Sleep, Golf, Repeat" think of your channel when he wears it. We are Phillie fans so we have our red t-shirts.
Good choice for the larger obelisk to put around the rose.
Nice Janey. Love the way you present the content. Good luck ❤
Hi Janey. I really like your channel. I’m glad that Jason took a leap of faith and decided to join you on your journey. It would be extremely helpful that when you plant new flowers or plants that you tell the growing zone and other specifics. I’m in zone 7 (Philly) and many of the plants you grow would only be annuals for me. I plant almost all perennials so that the nursery doesn’t get ALL of my money 😂🧑🏽🌾.
I use a small amount of annuals for color. Be blessed and have a good growing season. 🧑🏽🌾
Did I miss something, did Jason quit his full-time job and working with Janey now ???? If so that would be awesome. Anyone out there know.??
Yes, he did!
See May 4 Coffee Chat. 😊
Thx I will check it out, don't know how I missed that
Janey, you could use the small obelisk for that clematis that was supposed to get 36” tall.
I have a lot of purple in my garden too! I love purple, & am drawn to that color. I had weeded really well last month, but we’ve had some rain storms lately, & now they are everywhere again…ugggh!
your kniphofia in the back ground are stunning...love how farm your garden has come...Amazing
I have a lot of purple in my garden also and didn't realize it until last week
I have tons of purple and white…more colors will come in the summer
Thanks for a great video; love the music!😁
I LOVE BASEBALL. GO AZ DIAMONDBACKS!❤❤❤
Loving the yellow flowers against the lavender Janey. I’m a rose lover and wondering if your new obelisk would be better if the diameter was even from bottom to top, that way your rose won’t get scrunched at it climbs up. Just a thought. Keep up the awesome work. ❤
Finagle 😂 brilliant word. And I have no idea if I have spelt that right 😂
You spelled it right…I like that word…the only other person I know who uses that word is a male co-coworker…
It looks beautiful. I can't wait to find out the new project. So happy there is no voiceover
Wow! The shot at the end really shows all that you have accomplished in less than one year! Looks amazing!
I had to laugh this morning while having my coffee and watching your video, I was swatting off flies I thought from my computer screen! They were the bees on your pink profusion salvia!! ha!! I thought the bugs were crawling on my screen. whew! Everything looks beautiful!
Hahahaha! I love that! 🐝
I’ve been picturing you guys texting each other to bring this tote that 😆
Love your rose so beautiful! - I had given up on roses at my garden, but you've inspired me to try again :)
I noticed the ends of your metal path borders over by the pile of mulch - just a thought for safety - maybe pile a little mulch over those ends so they aren't a risk to fall or step on? Probably no one at your house is clumsy like me - I tend to worry about that kind of stuff ;) -I love that metal edging -- 🤩insert envy face, lol!
I love it cause Jason and Jenny ste working together, it so awesome
Great video, I love the Texas primrose, the yellow is beautiful, I didn't even notice til Janey pointed it out, it just pops, the rose is so very beautiful. It looks even bigger now that yall traded out the deal. Love y'all ❤
Well good morning again good day to plant. Monte is out on the job again.Right on time.Never late precious precious dog. Everything is coming right along and looking Great. Everything you plant just makes it that much better.I know how satisfying it is. Keep up the good work. Get lots of rest when you can and you and Jason Have a Great
Day. the oklahoma garden
I like the music you've chosen for your videos.
Most of my roses that aren’t even climbers I have to put on an obelisk, especially my David Austin, Star and Meilland roses. They all get so big throughout the season, even put my Proven Winners roses on an obelisk in my southern climate.
The obelisk that you took out from your rose would be the right size for your clematis.
The yellow and purple together really pops! Can you imagine how you've transformed this garden so quickly??!! Just great!
Another nice climbing rose that can even take some shade is "Sally Holmes." It is worth trying over an Arbor.
I love the orchard!! I can only grow apples, pears, lemons, limes, blueberries, and raspberries in San Francisco. Would love to grow figs and pomegranates...oh well.
Janey this is such a pretty thumbnail pic!!
Go Giants Jason, yahoo they beat Dodgers yesterday SF is ready for The Rockies lets get another win, looks beautiful Janey
Afternoon Everyone 🍃🌺🍃
The taller obelisk is much better❤ your garden is less oki g lovely. Your home is coming alive
Janie, I love the yellow flowers are so pretty with the pink profusion!
I love your selection! I love yellow and purple together. It makes the garden pop!
I like that the yellow with the purple kind of echoes the red hot poker and the purple on the other side of the walkway. And that rose is gorgeous. I guess I would probably train it on a fence to give it room to climb but that taller obelisk looks great. Can't wait to see it wind its way up.
I love your video. I look forward to it every day.
Do you know where the other 5 ft obelisk came from?
Thanks again for a great show.
Hi Janey and Jason 🐕
Oh my the yellow and purple already look great together.
From a clean Slay of drit to beautiful gardens, it looks stunning 😍.
Have a wonderful rest of the day. yes working before it gets hot is great Idea last summer I had a sun stroke no fun I was in the ER for about 6 hrs getting hydrated so please becareful. 🙂👋
I think ‘Best for the West’ encompasses the orchard garden because all the citrus trees (and your neighbor’s almond trees) grow best in the west. Citrus trees in Florida have a hard time with greening disease which spreads in our humid summer climate, as opposed to the dry summers y’all have in the west.
I think the taller obelisk is perfect for that space. Janey, I never see anyone measure out fertilizer, and I am wondering why not. I would think that too much would burn the plant. Your thoughts? 🤔💐
The garden is looking so beautiful. I can't imagine what it looks like in person, sooo beautiful!! I live in Iowa, our growing season is so short. Thanks for sharing all your hard work! It's beautiful!
What abeautiful clear bright yellow. Looks good there !!
Hi Janey, I know you are planning to replace your fence. Have you thought of a black chain link fence? The black really fades into the landscape and becomes almost invisible...and you can put black slats in it if you do not want to look at the goats!
I’ve never fertilized my roses! Been too busy with vegetable garden, fencing, and chicken coop, and more fencing!
It’s been hot! The garden is filling in so nicely 😊
Oh my watching you dig those holes. You definitely need a Laura’s Addition auger!
Hi Janey. Love your videos and your garden. I like the sun hat you were wearing. Where did you get it? I couldn’t find it on your Amazon store. I need a nice sun hat for gardening and yours looked perfect!!
Oh shucks! I was curious to see how you were going to single handed put a taller obelisk. Nice to have Jason's help!😅
I had to thank Laura Garden Answer for telling me about your channel. I'm a Scottsdale AZ nurse loving your channel. God speed 🙏🏻
The pop of yellow is so pretty!
It would look nice to continue the yellow on the other side of the pathway behind the lavender like a river under a bridge.
Looking so good! I like the idea of installing the drip then planting around it. I think it will save time in the long run.
I was thinking yarrow would be a nice option to add more yellow and interesting texture to the orchard garden 😊
Everything is coming together so nicely
I love the rusted metal obelisk, I bought a new one and my neighbour had an old rusty one so I asked her if we could swap and she liked the new shiny one better and I scored the one I wanted. Now I paint my new obelisks brown with spray paint and then go in and dry brush some rust coloured paint to age them faster. That obelisk looks better I agree. Love the yellow in your garden. I put in evening primrose a perennial in my garden and it is lovely to see that pop of yellow in Spring. I'm using the magic mix you have suggested and I hope to get more blooms this season.
Yes the yellow callilophus is an excellent addition. The Rockin Fuschia Salvia is stunning. Your gardens are so pretty on the big tv.💕🪻🌺🦋
U need 'Chartreuse on the Loose' Catmint the color just makes it so beautiful. My favorite this year.
The garden is looking beautiful! Love the Texas primrose. 🌹M
Hi Janey 🌺 .The yellow color is amazing with other colors in the garden and the lady bird sunglow calyluphas plants are going to be amazing near to purple salvia and you can add Marygold , black eyed Susan , yarrow ,gaura, red salvia , candytuft , cordial canary ajoga and supertunias... 😅. Have a wonderful day .🌺🌻🌺
93 degrees! Ugh. Poor Robbie
The blooms look beautiful. Since you have so much space consider spacing out clashing colours a bit so they are not in the same frame. Eg the red in front of the rose and orange in the back
Love your addition of yellow!
Your garden is filling out beautifully!
I love the splash of yellow!
Looking forward to see the new project 😊
You can totally prune back your fig tree in the off season.
I’m wondering if “the monster plant” is going to outgrow the space and grow into the fig tree. At least that is my worry as I see it in the video.
I worry about that too, it looks like the space is too small for that grass to grow without interfering with the other plants and fig tree! It might also shade the plants and the climbing rose.
The obelisk came out great!
You mentioned that you fertilize your annuals with a water soluble fertilizer once a week. In a prior video you gave instructions as to how you use the Proven Winners water soluble fertilizer packets in a mixer attached to a hand held hose. How many of the Proven Winners water soluble fertilizer packets do you end up using weekly to fertilize the annuals on your property?
I have always wonder that! How many packages and how much money would be that in a month. Same with the rose fertilizer. I wonder that because I want my garden to look luscious and full of blooms all the time like her beautiful garden, but I don’t know if I can afford it 😊
I was hoping you would use your homemade teepee trellis, would look lovely black. I'm sure you'll find a spot for it somewhere
Janey, Could you answer a question for me or maybe somebody else in the group? I've got some plants a garden annals and perennials. They've already started to be bit up by some insect. I noticed at the end of last year especially my red salvia the leaves have little holes in alot of them. I don't know if they're spider mites? I don't know anything about bugs or what insecticides to use. I wondered if you could tell me what I could use on my plants so that these bugs don't eat my whole garden before it even gets started?? Thanks so much. Iam in Iowa.❤
Now that Jason works on the property full time y’all should invest in some walkie talkie’s so you don’t have to yell across the 1 acre for help 😂
Do you mind giving us a website to where you purchased your obelisk?
Is SLO-Po-Mag easy to find? The rose looks so much better with the taller obelisk!
Hi Janey, I was wondering if you will be putting the metal edging along the driveway, it would look great, and encase the flowerbeds nicely. Your flower garden is absolutely beautiful 🤩❤️🌸🌼🌺🌹
I was thinking about that today!! It definitely needs a cleaner border!
Do you know why the ladybird Lemonade is no longer available? Paler yellow and as the flower age and wilt they look peach. It’s absolutely beautiful. I bought one last year and it’s about 24” wide and 12-18” tall. Oh and it was evergreen for me this past winter here in Texas. In my experience primrose get woody at the base like lavender so you need to prune them.
Maybe you could find seeds online that you could grow?
@@kater8730 sadly I don’t think they are available since it’s a proven winner hybrid.
