Hi from Australia 🇦🇺 I’m a follower from the beginning but haven’t ever commented before. I love watching you and your beautiful family creating a beautiful family home with your own hands!! Keep up the great work and I’ll continue watching your progress from afar 💕🇦🇺🦘🐨
Yes! I’m one of those from the beginning who never comments but get up and say “yeh!!! It’s Wednesday! Or Sunday. Thank you so much for letting us follow along, getting the benefit of all your creativity, but also, and more importantly, the example of a loving, thoughtful couple raising their children in a way I wish the whole world could see. You are an amazing example to all. Thank you.
Thank you for your lovely comment and for all your support! It truly does mean more than the world to us 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Oh I 100% agree. I too have been here from the beginning, finally this year becoming a Patreon. I love seeing the reuse of bits we watched being saved from somewhere else. We are upcyclers too....& Tara I'm in my 60's & still grab the credit for a job when I do the last 5 minute 'finish off' or splash on the paint - everyone just rolls their eyes & smile. I often just come up with the idea & ask, 'can we make this happen' & 'we' do. My days are always more exciting when I wake to a new video from you!! Thank you, thank you.
Me too. Rarely comment but have been here from the beginning and love every vlog you make. You are both such hard workers and the boys are a delight
Same heere!! ❤couldn’t have said it better
I’m with John flowers are very important
Poor mama falling through the chair! But what a good laugh!
I'm so delighted that you found a home for the decorative iron window piece. I remember John working so hard to take those out carefully. Those are the kinds of things that change a regular window into a high-end design.
Great work! See you Sunday!
Blessed Be!
Thanks Abigail! We think it’s the perfect place for it too 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Omg that precious laugh of Sawyer during John's mom's chair spill was a definate highlight. Thanks for sharing that. I do like the repurposing of the iron covering on the new window
Hi Tara and Tom, I found you through Sara and Luca. I am an german grandma, 83 years young. Used to live in the Netherlands. Wales and the USA. Now back in Germany ! If I was younger I would love to do the same as you ! My daughter and son followed their dreams, one in the USA and the other in Ireland ! I wish I could turn back time ! You are such a lovely family and your boys are so lucky to have you as parents ! Lots of love from Bridgit in Germany !
Tara and John. I found them from Heather and Brody as well as Sara and Luca. Wonderful families ❤️🙏

Thank you so so much Lesley! ❤️❤️
Love that Crusoe is back to styling one red boot and one yellow!! He has a special panache!!
Does Caruso have another pair in just the same colours - but in the mirror image?
Yes, the frame removal may well need the “duh, duh, duh”.
Such a technical term Tara!
These window deco are beautiful perfect for your windows

Thank you Luisa, we love hearing from you each week and your constant support truly means the world 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Its looking beautiful! Good job guys!
I’ve fallen in love with your little family. I love the way you are raising your sons-so rare these days, as so many kids are stuck inside, glued to their devices. John, you remind me in many ways of my grandfather, born in 1881. He loved flowers as you do, and had the most beautiful flower gardens. He was also an accomplished carpenter-built his last two houses. He was so imaginative, as are you, and was adept at repurposing objects.
An idea to further protect the window (and your boys)-put a big potted plant in front of it-nothing tall that would obstruct your view coming up the stairs, but something to serve as an added barrier.
Looking forward to seeing what else you do with the stone house.
Looking gorgeous team! That was a lesson in perseverance and problem solving! Well done John.
John never fails to amaze me with his ingenuity. Making the wrought iron float was brilliant. I've been here from the time you moved onto the farm...it makes me think I must go through the videos to see if there is one of you on your land search...I love those types of videos.
Shabby chic! Love the window
John the miracle worker 💪🏻🕊💪🏻
He is amazing Ziska! Always love it when he does things like this 🙏🏼❤️
Great window, a big improvement to the light and the view. Well done John!
Hi Newbys, I’ve been here from the beginning and have enjoyed every bit of your content. The boys are absolutely precious. Tara and John it’s a pleasure to hang out with you. Thanks for all the great memories
Thank you for your constant support Joanne! ❤️❤️
Thanks for the video. Great progress!
А little of da-da-da 😂😂
Love it, Cruso and his odd wellies. A throw back to Sues epic deck chair incident. Never throw anything away it can it can be used again. Love to all and to your mum if she's with you still. Would love to see her on these videos.
Yes, l have been here since the beginning. Great job on the build.
I love that the addition is a mix of old & new, what a great way to pay tribute to the old farm. Can’t wait to see what’s to come. ❤
Hello Newbys with Love from Texas!
Impressed again. Love the new lamp and window. The clips of the boys and their little dog are just the sweetest.
Happily watching all the changes from here in New Mexico.
You made our morning brighter with your new window and all. Fun to hear little guys talking.
The window looks really 👍
Good to be versatile during John's projects.
I Love following your adventures, creativity and vision❤
Hi!! So enjoy watching the two of you making something out of almost nothing.
Thanks friend
Yes! I've been here for all of it. It's so much fun. Thankyou for sharing your journey(s) with me/us - Much Love to you All! - and especially Obi ♥
Destroying the past is heartbreaking to me. I love and appreciate every so much when something old is incorporated with something new. I am glad you do this occasionally!!!
Well Done!
I love how John patiently makes all of your ideas come to life. He starts out with his plans then you come along and say “how about it floating” and John is like, “I’m up for the challenge”. My husband would be yelling at me for changing up the plans. You two work so well together and it’s such a pleasure to watch! ❤❤❤❤❤
The transformation of your property is so impressive at this point! I cannot wait to see what is in store for the future! The imagery in your videos is beautiful and inspiring. Thanks for sharing!
John and Tara I have to share something funny with you two. John mentioned the gloves and Clarkson's Farm which I have watched, hilarious. But want to know what is funny? My neighbor Mike and his wife across the street in Waverly New York USA are watching your RUclips Channel hahahahaha. He and I were talking and he came by and asked me if I had a RUclips Channel and I said how did you know? He said I mentioned it to him last year when I had my sale. Oh my. Then he said he loves watching people build, restore and project channels. ( I have been restoring this 1857 historic home for 3 years here) Somehow we got on the subject of overseas and there you have it. OH MY all the way from Waverly New York USA to you in Portugal two fans on the same street. CHEERS Love you guys. I am counting down the days to Olive Season to arrive. It's exciting to see how your trees fare. Good on your John for wearing protection LOLOLOLOL. Giggle. Cheers. Gina in Upstate New York USA moving to Portugal.
Wow Gina. What are the chances! Thanks so much for sharing this with us and thank you for all your and Mikes support, it means so so much to us 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Hello from BOSTON, MASSACHUSSETTS USA
That window is a game changer! Good job, Newbys!
Beautiful window and I love the window guard, it is incredible the difference not only in light coming in the stairway but being able to see through the glass just opens everything up - well done x
John, Tara, The new window with the old iron work looks great, it will protect Crusoe, Sawyer from getting hurt. I love it when Crusoe want to help his dad, and when Sawyer walks with his hand behind his back like dad. God bless you John, Tara, Crusoe, Sawyer. God bless your Family's. Now that we know its a flaming heart; what a wonderful depiction of love alive in your home❤
Love, the fact that you kept all the old artifacts from the house. All the quirky little things are what make it continue to be a home, you are its family now.🏠
Window looks so nice live your nuwe tiny house 🏡❤
🙏🏼🙏🏼
I love all the ideas you have. Creative people. Thank you for sharing this with us
Thanks friend 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Brilliant!
I was just thinking about the wrought iron frames you removed from the old house and you came up with the same idea. Two minds thinking alike. It is perfect for that window.
Great minds definitely think alike Pam! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I absolutely love your videos and what you are doing with the homestead!! I wait excitedly for the video to be posted. Your little boys are absolutely adorable!!
Thanks friend
Hi Newbys!
Maybe nobody told you that the iron grid "thing" (don't know how you call it), when put upright, represents a flaming heart. It is very commonly made in filigree, silver or gold, very traditionally portuguese, from Minho. You can easily recognize the heart in the bottom of the piece, the part above it represent the flames (arabescs on the top of a heart always represent flames). And a heart in flames is the symbol for eternal love!
In catholic religion it also represents the holy spirit.
Now you know!
And it looks soooo god there! In front of a window, where light and warmth come from! A home wrapped in eternal love!
Love also from sunny Lisbon!
That is so interesting. I didn't know that.
Thanks for letting us know about ❤
Hi Nicas, thank you so much for sharing this with us. We didn't know that, now it is even more special! ❤️❤️
I first joined you on your property in Portugal, not during your travels. I now follow both your channels and I look forward to each new video.

Hi. Here for all of it 😊 👍
I just have to say seeing Sawyer strolling along with his hands behind his back makes me think of the Duke of Edinburgh
Thank you for another wonderful video. You both are so clever and quite creative. You all cheer me up each Wednesday and Sunday. Have had a hard time with my husband passing, having you to look forward to is so much better than therapy 😊.

Hi family, I love your window
Hi friend, thanks so much!
Yes you are very interesting to watch, God bless
Thanks for the support Katherine ❤️❤️
I believe the Terracotta Tiles should be cleaned with water and sealed BEFORE grouting to avoid the grouting penetrating the terracotta.
Hi! Thank you for sharing your story, love the new place for iron on new window 💕!
That’ll do pig…
Beautiful quote from the movie Babe about a sheep herding pig and his proud owner. Tara sounded just the the same at the end. Gorgeous!
Love the window! 💛🧡💛
But just frustrating to watch you work on the bars on the ground. Do you not have any saw horses? I recommend lifting your work off the ground and onto a table height workspace. As a 71 year old cabinet maker my husband can tell you about the long term effects on the body due to working on the ground. Also, protect those knees with a rubber pad when working on the tiles. Ok that’s my “helpful hints” for today. All in all it looks fantastic!!
Thanks for the suggestion Lisa 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Wonderful to see such beautiful tiles.

hi...here from the very early days!!!!!!
I'm trying to get the hang of those right angle drill attachments. I was making a kitty condo and needed it to make a section more sturdy. My bit kept falling out and it was awful. Will not give up!
Don't ever give up! You have got this!
That clear window is sooo much better!
We think so too friend!
