I stun myself with these just to prove to people that these could get you killed because the adrenaline surge after the shock is amazing. Like getting kicked in the nuts in real life won't drop a bad guy but will really piss them off. Best recommendation is find a gym that teaches hand to hand fighting first.

But in my country yes it's could be said you not allowed to carry a weapon outside your house, even it's mean for self defense. But the cop usually said if you really need to carry self defense tool, if your situation kinda make you need it, make sure to hide it and no one can see or know you carry one.
