OK so this cake is a must-make. A moist browned butter vanilla cake filler with creamy vanilla browned butter Italian meringue buttercream. If you don't want to go all out and pipe buttercream orchids and all that, just stop at the crumb coat and get to eating, it's just delicious and I love seeing all the flecks from the vanilla beans and caramelized butter bits. If you haven't browned butter before you've got to try! Cooking it adds a depth of flavor, intensified nuttiness and this incredible aroma. Browned butter enhances both sweet and savory dishes, you're going to be hooked!
So I've been enjoying experimenting a bit with different buttercream flowers on my cakes lately and it's been so fun! I made a "painted" rose cake last week where I mostly used a palette knife to create petals and it gave an interesting three dimensional effect to the surface but this time I wanted to try and make some buttercream orchids. I had actually experimented piping them a few weeks ago, using them as cookie toppers and they worked well but I think a cake is the best venue for this flower :) I should mention that I ordered two piping tips for this cake that made a huge difference, they're shaped like curved tear drops and are a total game-changer, 120 and 127. You can use there to make many different typed of petals and I highly recommend them.
I made this cake for my husband for father's day, with just the Brown butter butter cream-he says you're a cake genius.

I LOVE this cake! I've been a cake decorator for 40 years, but hate fondant. So recipies and decorations like this are the kind I love to watch (and make!). I think I may make this one for my mother-in-law's 83rd birthday in July. Well, technically she's my ex MIL, but still like a mom to me and she deserves something truly special like this cake.

oh my god this looks so good. browned butter is soooo gooooooodd. it makes literaly everything better. i had browned butter Madeleines once and those were amazing. i am super excited about this cake... i hate it when cakes are so much about the decoration that the inside isnt so important.... not to mention the decoration on this is pretty freaking incredible.

You made ghee. You can strain it and still have the toffee taste and smell. Once I started making my own ghee I never eat butter any other way. It also has a longer shelf life.
Actually while making ghee we add leaf of drumsticks tree

I like how you give lots of tips and explain why you do certain things. I tend to use cake recipes that use the creaming method, which doesn't need baking soda (that I dislike). But, I can adapt my recipes with some of your ideas, like using browned butter for flavour.

I made a practice cake with this recipe - amazing! This week I am creating a wedding cake for my nephew and his fiance using this recipe! It will be 3 stacked tiers (12, 10, and 8 inches) of 2 layers each tier. I have a spreadsheet of the recipe x2, x3, etc! I am also making a 2-layer sheet cake of this recipe for the caterer to have in the kitchen for additional servings. My nephew has requested a salted caramel filling, and I am trying to decide which buttercream recipe will be best for the rustic swirled frosting effect they want. Which buttercream recipe I will use depends on the weather/heat/humidity for the weekend. Just want to say I love your channel, your fb page, and your amazing recipes! Beautiful! Looks amazingly delicious! I love orchids, peonies and roses. Can you make hydrangea buttercream flowers as well? A partially periwinkle and white or a powder blue hydrangea would be gorgeous.
