In ways both are true On one hand, yeah we do wish to see more happiness and pure things from our childhood Though on the other hand, things might’ve not seemed as jolly as what we thought it were. when i first heard the plot for this movie it really sounded like a horror story about an IF turning into a serial killer. same thing happened when i heard about "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood" so i guess it's more my brain than anything else.
It's good to see Cailey Fleming working since Walking Dead is finished. She is a great little actress. Pairing her with Ryan Reynold and John Krasinski is genius. This should be a good one.

I love how many people here just know that this is a spiritual prequel to Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends and are 100% okay with it. I don’t care how this movie ends, but that girl grows up to be the little old lady and no one can tell me different.
This whole trailer had me smiling the whole way through😊 Love how it gives me extreme nostalgia of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends♡ the character designs & cgi on the IFs look pretty cool too. It looks like it'll have a lot of fun comedic moments but i just know they're gonna probably leave us an emotional wreck by the end i can feel it😭😅 can't wait♡♡
but why just comforting with cg animation, they could've also use other animation styles and techniques like maybe hand drawn animation (also used in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Cool World (also distributed by Paramount), Space Jam and Looney Tunes: Back in Action) or even stop motion animation a la Henry Selick
This is giving me serious Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends vibes. I wonder if John Krasinsky watched the show with his kids and got the idea to write this based on that. For anyone that doesn't know, Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends is a cartoon that is about a kid who creates an imaginary friend that he has to get rid of, the friend is named Bloo and he goes to live in a foster home for other imaginary friends that had kids of their own who grew up and didn't want/need them anymore. So this old lady, Madam Foster, who never outgrew her own imaginary friend, creates a home for these homeless imaginary friends that need a place to go. There's dozens, if not hundreds, of these imaginary friends and Madam Foster tries to find them new homes with other kids that need them. The show was on Cartoon Network and ran for 5 years. My own kids grew up watching it, myself with them, and it was a totally underrated show.
This looks amazing. Not only because of the cast, but we all have had those fairy tales/dreams/creatures/objects that we wish were real. And it will be fun to see what is done with this. Based on that, i think the film will be about learning to let go but always remember the nostalgia. Its a great family centered lesson. Very exciting for this.

I’m happy that it is based on imaginary friends because I have anxiety and when I grew up I used to make them to comfort me and tell me that I was going to be fine . I CANT WAIT! ( and yes I will go and see it by myself maybe )

I never got the point of imaginary friends, but I can see why now as an adult, why some kids that felt/feel alone or ostracised for whatever reasons, that their minds create such things to keep them relatively sane. The mind is truly a wonderful thing, and one of a child, even more so. Kudos to JK & co for the movie, I hope it does well for them and helps bring more families closer together.

Ryan making some family good natured entertainment in between Mr. Pool's sightings to even out the universe :) There are a few people in this world that really really stand out amongst the massive amount of hatred, chaos, and evil currently in the world and Ryan is one (like a shiny flower in a huge field of rotted ones). Thx Ryan keep having fun and taking us with. Blunt and Krasinski duo also, good people.
I'm glad to see that Christopher Meloni is in this as there are definitely some Happy! vibes in this movie, but it's a shame if they couldn't get or didn't ask Patton Oswalt, as well (unless he's going to make a secret cameo as Happy, then that'd be pretty neat, too).
A movie I'm actually excited to see in 2024. I get a strong "labor of love" vibe as if John K. set out to make a movie for his kids. It looks funny and sweet.

I don't think Krazinski set out to rip off an old cartoon show, just came up with a similar idea. Its possible CN may try some sort of legal action, but I honestly don't think it would get very far.

I love how many people here just know that this is a spiritual prequel to Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends and are 100% okay with it. I don’t care how this movie ends, but that girl grows up to be the little old lady and no one can tell me different.
This will be my headcanon as well. If they don't make it so, I will make it so.

This whole trailer had me smiling the whole way through😊 Love how it gives me extreme nostalgia of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends♡ the character designs & cgi on the IFs look pretty cool too. It looks like it'll have a lot of fun comedic moments but i just know they're gonna probably leave us an emotional wreck by the end i can feel it😭😅 can't wait♡♡

but why just comforting with cg animation, they could've also use other animation styles and techniques like maybe hand drawn animation (also used in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Cool World (also distributed by Paramount), Space Jam and Looney Tunes: Back in Action) or even stop motion animation a la Henry Selick
This is giving me serious Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends vibes. I wonder if John Krasinsky watched the show with his kids and got the idea to write this based on that. For anyone that doesn't know, Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends is a cartoon that is about a kid who creates an imaginary friend that he has to get rid of, the friend is named Bloo and he goes to live in a foster home for other imaginary friends that had kids of their own who grew up and didn't want/need them anymore. So this old lady, Madam Foster, who never outgrew her own imaginary friend, creates a home for these homeless imaginary friends that need a place to go. There's dozens, if not hundreds, of these imaginary friends and Madam Foster tries to find them new homes with other kids that need them. The show was on Cartoon Network and ran for 5 years. My own kids grew up watching it, myself with them, and it was a totally underrated show.

This looks amazing. Not only because of the cast, but we all have had those fairy tales/dreams/creatures/objects that we wish were real. And it will be fun to see what is done with this. Based on that, i think the film will be about learning to let go but always remember the nostalgia. Its a great family centered lesson. Very exciting for this.
Ryan Reynolds is just that one actor that can make every movie come out good no matter what he does, even if he’s not the main character, I just love him so much!

I’ve just seen this for some reason and I can not wait for it to come out. Ryan Reynolds and Steve Carell in a movie is a wish that I didn’t think would come true. I’m happy that it is based on imaginary friends because I have anxiety and when I grew up I used to make them to comfort me and tell me that I was going to be fine . I CANT WAIT! ( and yes I will go and see it by myself maybe )

I never got the point of imaginary friends, but I can see why now as an adult, why some kids that felt/feel alone or ostracised for whatever reasons, that their minds create such things to keep them relatively sane.
The mind is truly a wonderful thing, and one of a child, even more so.
Kudos to JK & co for the movie, I hope it does well for them and helps bring more families closer together.

Ryan making some family good natured entertainment in between Mr. Pool's sightings to even out the universe :) There are a few people in this world that really really stand out amongst the massive amount of hatred, chaos, and evil currently in the world and Ryan is one (like a shiny flower in a huge field of rotted ones). Thx Ryan keep having fun and taking us with. Blunt and Krasinski duo also, good people.

I'm glad to see that Christopher Meloni is in this as there are definitely some Happy! vibes in this movie, but it's a shame if they couldn't get or didn't ask Patton Oswalt, as well (unless he's going to make a secret cameo as Happy, then that'd be pretty neat, too).

@@betolov Not much, I would think. This and Foster's seem to have similar concepts based solely on this trailer, but that is not all that uncommon in the land of media. I don't think Krazinski set out to rip off an old cartoon show, just came up with a similar idea. Its possible CN may try some sort of legal action, but I honestly don't think it would get very far.
