  • A trial in Boston is underway in which prosecutors accuse Karen Read of killing her boyfriend, Boston police Officer John O’Keefe, in a drunken hit-and-run. The defense says the officer was actually beaten inside a home, and he was then dragged outside in the snowy cold, where he died. The defense evidence includes a Google search by people in that home: How long does it take to die in the cold? Hashing it out on NewsNation’s “Dan Abrams Live": Jesse Weber, attorney and and a NewsNation legal contributor; Misty Marris, trial attorney and legal analyst; and Arthur Aidala, trial attorney and radio host.

      Because the video is early the next morning when she's going back out to look for him. When she pulls away, you can tell her taillight is intact. After she supposedly hit him. The police report has literal chunks of the headlight found at the scene 24 hours later, several hours after they impounded her vehicle with the tail light still intact (on multiple other cameras).

    For the Commonwealth’s case to work, we have to believe that not one of the 3 people who pulled up to the party & waited for someone they were picking up saw a body on the lawn of the house they were waiting in front of & not one of the 5 people who left the party saw that same body on the lawn. So, 8 people missed a dead body on a wide open typical subdivision lawn. Pretty sus.

    • @cosplayshop
      @cosplayshop Месяц назад +3

      Well, that's not the prosecution theory, however, as a cop of 11 years who had experience searching for body in any given weather condition, missing a body 10 to 15 yard away from you is not something that rare, fed missed Brian Laundrie body like 40 yards from where they were searching for 2 months. You need to remember, first of all, you only see what you are looking for, if you are not looking for a body, or don't expect one, you won't see it even it was right in front of you, and second, it was at night, snowing, you need to account for the weather and the snow affected vision.
      On the other hand, the prosecution case is that she hits him with her car, and then drove off, you have her saying stuff that people said she say (like I hit him) and she manage to spot the body in the back seat of the car while the other 2 didn't, and then you have the glass on her taillight/bumper that's prosecution case that amount to 2nd degree murder. Defence need to physically poke hole in this theory instead of just going after the third party theory and the police cover up, otherwise she would most likely be convicted if we go by the evidence we know.
      If you ask me, the 2nd degree murder charge probably not going to stick, and it would be a lot easier to prove she back into him by accident than 11 people are lying to cover up the a fight gone bad (which in itself is iffy, I mean if he really do have that much bad blood as the defence said, why he went to their home to party in the first place??) and the entire police department, medical examiner office and the prosecution office are corrupt......

    • @Ieezeca
      @Ieezeca Месяц назад +3

      @cosplayshop that's was a lot of work- I'm sorry to have to tell you there are no yards involved. We're taking a front lawn in a well lit neighborhood on a less than half acre lot in 2 in. of snow. Since you have investigated before, though, get all the evidence- this is an absolute train wreck and there is no way to justify it. Did they mention the cop that hosted the party never came out of the house when they found a brother officer not doing so well on his lawn? Not for CPR, the blankets that were asked for, the ambulance, the screaming distraught woman, etc. Because he was sleeping and didn't hear anything...

      @cosplayshop Месяц назад +1

      @Ieezeca again, you need to consider the weather, light intensity, and whether or not you are looking for something.
      Have you ever had someone come up to you and say he or she saw you in the shop or park or whatever when you didn't know that person were there with you? We are talking about similar circumstances, only the difference is tha it was snowing, at night and probably everyone having too much to drink already.
      On the other hand, what that even mean when none of the 11 said they even saw the body? Does that automatically mean they lied? And it still had not explained any of the other aspects I mentioned.

The first responders They were also gathered by a police officer involved in this case possible involved in his death where they had a “meeting” of what happened that morning. And you often see first responders and the police having close interactions in their daily lives. Definitely skin in the game. Including the fact one of the home owners at the party that night who never not only didn’t help John but never even went outside when a dead police officer was on his lawn with emergency vehicles and police were all over his property. What I don't understand, it seems to me that they're saying that fellow law enforcement officers killed him or "either" she did. There's no third option. If he went outside the house by himself and something else happened such as another car hit him or he was robbed. They seem to focus on two options only and nothing else.

      Unless something earth shattering comes out, it should be pretty simple for jurors who do not have a pro police bias and remember that Karen is innocent until proven guilty, so as she sits there, she is innocent & it is up to the Commonwealth to convince the jurors otherwise by proving each & every element of its case beyond a reasonable doubt.

And if he had a fight in this house, then he left on his own and nobody cared. An idea that these ppl in the house brought him out to die in the cold in the front yard of this house does not make sense to me. The scratches on his arm can indicate some animal (as just said in this video) sniffing a body under the snow. I think ppl focus way too much on this tail light story.
