As far as gold solution that would put more on blizzards end. Make bc only servers allow players to copy a character over under a gold cap (to be determined amount) then at least it's a level playing field partially
@Brian I did the original Karazhan at TBC launch and it was absolutely a raid where you could spend an entire night wiping on some bosses. There was a sizeable difference in difficulty between 2.0 Kara and 2.4.3 Kara. It wasn't really buggy either. That was SSC/TK.

Scryers is the best faction. No matter what. I deduced this from the fact that you can survive jumping off their platform but you die from Aldor, because it's higher.

@@sertouchthis no no man you can survive that fall with any class. You go full left where you can a sentinel stay on the edge put your char on walking mode and don't jump, just move forward for the fall. You'll end with 2 or 3% of your HP but you won't die. This is the spot where almost everyone on Warmane goes for that achievement. There are many other possible spots of course like in the belfs starting zone up on those towers with a lake bellow and others the trick is always put walking mode and never jump to try out different spots to do this. Playing TBC a few days after launch was one of the most fun times I've ever had in a game. They did such a good job on the quests / dungeons in hellfire peninsula, and each new area you get to after that is more beautiful than the last. Zangarmarsh, Nagrand.. The forests outside of Shattrath.. Ahh. So beautiful. So relaxing.
i agree with quests and dungeon in hellfire, its great, but the map itself is so annoying, the weird dungeon entrances, it has an overrall boring design compared to all other maps, altough it does give that "forgotten wasteland" vibe.

as a someone who used to play healing priest, a word of advice: Make two banking alts, one for herbs other for leather. Pick up herbalism and skinning as lvling professions. send herbs to one banking alt, send leather to another. Once u lvl cap it. drop skinning and pick up alchemy. Send over all those herbs back and lvl alchemy up until u can craft healers alchemy stone trinket. Ull be using that trinket with blue dragon card for quite a while until u get lucky to actually get some end game trinkets from raids. When u get alchemy stone and enough stockpiled primal lifes, drop herbalism and pick up tailoring. Use all those cloths u saved while lvling and primal lifes u got from herbalism to craft healing robe set with healing enchantments etc. At this point if u upgrade ur robes to something that is better than craftable healing set, drop tailoring and pick up leatherworking. Or if u find better healing trinket then alchemy stone, drop alchemy and pick up leatherworking. LW is gonna be essential to crafting drums of speed for endgame raids. gl.
I honestly had little to no interest in playing Classic itself when it was announced. However, this one possibility, right here, is the reason I was ecstatic for Classic's announcement. It'd give me the chance to experience Burning Crusade again. I cannot wait to level a warlock through that expansion again. Tailoring/Enchanting for my Shadowweave/Spellstrike set.
Draemei Shaman for me. Enhancement to 40 and then respec to resto, like I did back then. And this was back in the day when resto could still do some proper damage, though nowhere near as well as an enhancement shaman.
Another way to grind rep if you don't have a reliable dungeon group is to do Ethereum Jailers in Netherstorm. They drop keys to prisons that release NPCs that give reputation for several factions including Sporeggar. They can also spawn monsters that you kill for items that give Consortium rep.
In terms of the gold inflation, I kinda hope that they will give the option of completely fresh servers for people who weren't interested in classic or just want a fresh start. I think there should be transfer servers too obviously, just a choice so that there is a clear reset option if people want it.
boosting is a symptom. when people can gold farm on a hunter for an hour, and pay a mage to boost their alts for 10 levels from that... ur gonna have that. hell, i mainly farm firewater n jujus n have paid to get my last 2 alts boosted. the problem is people buying gold from farm-bots. i have seen CTS go for over 20k gold in gbid runs... yea, sorry, but there is no way (except the 1 guy on my server ALWAYS selling DMT) that was farmed legit. if prices are super inflated cause enough people have enough gold to throw around.. yea, il take their gold for my goods or mage services, and respend it on boosts
@@Max-hw7xl boosting is not a symptom, it's what drives the gold market. if you weren't able to get boosted you'd have far less incentive in buying gold from gold farmers. as you said it yourself, you farmed up the gold for boosts. if boosts werent viable, you'd have nothing to spend that gold on and you definitely wouldn't have the incentive to buy gold from gold farmers.
@@ivoivic2448 the incentive to buy gold comes with raiding naxx. Almost everyone buys gold. Someone dropping 10k gold for an onslaught girdle in MC proved to me that the richest players just bought or botted their fortunes.
So much Knothide Leather farmed......but worth it. The dungeon instance attunement, getting the keys to unlock Heroic's and certian raids. TBC was my bae.
I'm hoping they offer a couple fresh TBC servers for those that either didn't play vanilla classic or don't want to deal with the crazy economy from gold and item hoarders. Also it will help the new shammys and pallys not feel light years behind at the start.

Kara loot was shit, organising 4 grps of 10 annoying we walked over everything upto Kael'T. Most naxx loot is better than all t4 and t5 in some cases, even pre-nerf it will be a blood bath just to gear your pallies/shammies. Kara was always and will always be a chore for me

On the Classic professions: Not entirely accurate. For example: Bloodvine. The Tailoring Bloodvineset gives you bonus crit but ONLY if you are a tailor. This is essencially like the Spellstrike set from TBC.

I remember when BC launched back in the day, it was my favorite expansion. It's the reason I just started playing WoW again, when they said they were bringing BC to Classic I jumped right in. The only problem I have is none of those I ran with from vanilla launch to 2009 play anymore and so far the only people that I've grouped with were trash

On the points of rep with CE, you can buy unidentified plant parts, usually very cheap, and get the initial rep that way as well. You could also just use them to supplement the rep you're farming in UB/SP. Blade's Edge also has quite a few quests that reward CE rep. Saving the quests till 70 also isn't really necessary, as soon as you hit Honored you can do them if you want to. Saving them for 70 just adds the bonus gold from the XP conversion but if all you care about is rep+xp then you should probably do HFP dungeon farm -> HFP quests -> ZGM dungeon farm + plant parts turnin -> ZGM quests. I'd recommend anyone serious about leveling with this method to check up on which questlines/questhubs actually reward the relevant reps, as there are many exodar quests in HFP and ZGM for example and these obviously don't need to be saved until honored.
tbc had so much outside of raids and it wasnt that bad to do either. you had your clear goal and afterwards it was done. I loved the way it let you work towards all those raids. the shattrat factions were great as well even though I will always go for the dranei one.

Re. farming rep for Revered I'd like to suggest modified approach as I think that Rep gain is level relevant: - farm Hellfire Citadel til Honored, 0 or minimal quests. - farm Slave Pens and Underbog til Honored - punch all quests for these two factions. I reached as test run both keys at level 66 mage. Probably can be done better.
Tbc was the best healing and most fun as a Druid healer and Paladin tank. Man it was fun. Paladins didn’t have a direct taunt but you could easily bubble others and you create a macro that you could create . Man they where fun.. hard to gear, but a ton of fun. But I like the harder tasks.
9:51 You are missing out the "Shattered Sun Pendant of Acumen" sold at Isle of Quel'Danas, which is by far best in slot for all casters, but only if you are an Aldor.

The only fair way to deal with the economy issue, imho, is to offer players the option of either progressing from Classic to TBC, or to start a new character on a fresh TBC server. The players with lots of gold would progress, others could start fresh.
First of all, great video :). Regarding the gold topic. I think there is a really big difference by resetting the economy or going into TBC with a fundamentally broken economy. Think about it, 5000g for the epic flying was a huge amount of gold in TBC and will still be that at launch of tbc classic in the case of a reset. Gold makers will definitely catch up eventually but it will take some time and this will still leave a chance to fix the problem. If we don't reset, 5k gold is nothing. Ppl are sitting on hundreds of thousands of gold and letting this in from the start will ensure that Classic TBC economy will be irreparably broken from the start. I completely get the point of ppl who have spent months preparing gold for TBC but I really don't think it would be in the best interest of TBC to allow this in freely.

A gold reset would never work because you can just spend all your gold in the AH on consumables or crafting material and sell it after the reset again. Or even straight fill your bankalts with grey/white weapons that sell for a lot of gold at vendors after the reset. Imagine this: runecloth sells at the AH for 10 silver and goes at the vendor for 7 silver (these are imaginary numbers but you get the point). You can convert 1000 gold to 700 gold just by vendoring said material at vendors after the reset.
Awesome video dude! I really agree with point number 6. I played a warlock alt in TBC when it originally came out because they were OMGLEET....but years later I find that 1 button specs are boring AF. I learned that lesson with Classic in playing a mage because I wanted to have a strong class with good quality of life and could make gold easily.....except the 1 button raid meta.....ZZzzZZZzzz. Going to play a class with a playstyle I like this time around.

One possible solution for the drums would be to remove the LW requirement so anyone can use them. I'm surprised there was no mention of Bloodlust rotations and shaman stacking. That became a big deal in Sunwell.
I want to touch on 2 things regarding "Play the class/spec you want" Most people are talking about how 'useless' ret paladin was. *Ret paladin's* dps was hard to do (even though a one button macro actually did maximize its dps). The reason? CORRECT gear. People saw warriors and went "let's put strength or attack power leather gear on.". Yeah! that works! Retadins is a different game. Outside tier armor, the gear isn't exactly itemized great for them. Since they need both STrength AND intellect. So very few plate pieces that aren't tier gear do that. So what did you need? PVP gear. PVP gear filled out the rest of the slots very nicely except for a few places where you could find Druid gear leather (Str/agi/Int). So they only scaled WELL once they had a lot of the correct stats. Don't really need to bother with attack power since a lot of their damage... wasn't based on attack power. For instance, Seal of Command was NOT affected by attack power, but simply the damage your weapon did. Tehre is no damage difference on it when naked with a two hander and fully t6 geared with that same two hander. But having the mana to keep it up is important. Same thing with Crusader strike, attack power did not affect its damage. But you still needed mana to keep it going. Furthermore, pvp gloves increased its damage further, so tier everything but gloves and then pvp gloves gave them a good dps boost. Their dps would still be on the lower end, but what they do bring besides, a lot of buffs and a lot of buffs prot and holy can't bring. the 3% extra crit damage against its target being a raidwide buff essentially is on its own useful to have ONE ret paladin (and then sanctity aura was worth it if paired with a prot paladin's group) *survival hunter* I remember in tbc days, most people wanted BM because "It does more damage". Well, selfish nancy's, every group should be DEMANDING a survival hunter. Survival hunters wanted agility+ gear over Attack power+ gear, because they had that expose weakness debuff where 33% of their agi gets added to attack power to ALL physical damage dealers in the RAID (not party) against that target, and this was one of the biggest potential damage boosts, and only survival had it. Why raids skipped this I'll never know. "but my damage is a little better as BM" yeah, but EVERYONE'S damage is a lot better if you're survival. But, you only wanted one survival hunter. there was no point in having two.
Easy fix on the auction house. Anything bought out of it should not be able to be reposted for 7 days, and the difference between bid and buy out price should be only 10%.
Pay attention to stats. I couldn't get a good tanking shield pre-kara, so I ground out some honor and picked up the PvP shield, which had a TON of armor and stam. But it also had resilience, which helps tanks be crit-immune.
So hyped for TBC classic, and very useful vid! But it sadens me to think most people will now follow this meta way of levelling for rep rather then just playing normally...

I love your video man but I disagree on the economy reset. The best way to make gold has always been playing the AH, which takes a lot of gold. That is why a economic reset sets inflation back. The more gold the AH players have to start with, the sooner they can start playing the market. So I think the economic reset is more usefull than you think bro. Keep up the good content man.
I think that a lot of people who makes guides forget that a lot of us don't come here because we want the best of the best, but because we're afraid we might make a mistake in our choices. It's so nice hearing the whole "play what you enjoy, not what is good", because it soothes the anxiety of making wrong choices, while actually letting us enjoy our time more with the game. Many of us treat the guides as voices of authority, so it really matters what we hear, hence why so many more people rolled warrior and mage in classic compared to vanilla. I think some people would actually have enjoyed the game more if they heard that chosing what's fun is okay, rather than "you need to go this spec, and use these consumables, and get these world buffs". When I first started playing classic (having never played vanilla and knowing nothing), I picked priest because it was the best healer, but by level 45 I simply quit the game. I just wasn't having fun. So I just sort of gave up and decided to level a druid because I knew they were faster levelers, and figured I would at least get to 60 then. Now I have two level 60 druids and I'm so passionate about my class despite it being subpar in many regards, because it's just the class I have the most fun with by far. So thank you for telling us what really matters. Fun.
#YesChanges. Nerf the haste Drums of War gives or allow it to be used without Leather Working. I like having engineering in classic because it gives a bunch of different useful items. I do not want to lock out one of my professions for ONE SINGLE item. Priests do not need leatherworking.
10k gold dosent happend over night tho. That is something peoples have accumulated of months and month of play. So yes an economy reset would make the launch and severals month moving forward a better experience.
If they told us they were resetting gold, someone with 10k gold would just buy 10k worth of mats off AH, then sell them again in TBC. Might take a couple days to sell but they'd have 10k+ in a couple days again. It would be annoying and that's about all.
You forgot to mention that the Aldor / Scryers choice influences the Quel Danas necklace in patch 2.4. Scryers hunters/melee dps will basically be screwed because the Aldor AP proc of that necklace at exalted is MUCH better. That's late in the game, but still...
There's a player on my server who has been the same lvl for 4 months .A Druid lvl 44 ,He farms the shellfish in Desolace at all hours. I think he may be a gold farmer.
Mind you for #4, There's no "show lower level quests" in TBC. That came in Wrath. So if you're going to ding 70 without doing any of the HFP/Zangar quests, you're gonna need some help from a quest addon.
ahhh good old times playing tankadin without having to gimick, and ret paladin could be somewhat viable (even if you where sometimes a +2% bonus for damage for the rest of party)
ikr? My guild was against me tanking (as a paladin), but after I did a few runs that made otherwhise difficult heroics and ae tanking in general a breeze, they changed their midn.

I'm a hunter player, I have played hunter for the most part since vanilla. one of the few times I did switch, was oddly enough in tbc, where I switched to rogue, what a mistake, Hunters were OP were rogue sucked. I only play Warlock for PvP, because its really fun. Elemental shaman is also very fun, all tese classes just happen to be very useful too. So this time artound, I will not be switching to rogue, but stay hunter and level a warlock for PvP
Best choice ever, just play what you love playing because if you force yourself to play something that performs good but that you don't necessarily enjoy you're just not going to have fun because your class is the scope through which you see the game and if you don't enjoy it you won't enjoy the game !

About the economy.... : Resset will help alot, cause like u said they need to do it AGAIN ( it also could help classic economy if blizz annouces it right now somethin like: U ll get 10% of your money ) How to stop breakin economy again? Blizz should probably aim for the highest income strategise and thats boostin ( and it ll be far far bigger in TBC ) So how u can stop or slow boostin proces so it shouldnt be so efective as money tool? Lower the entrances pre hour or set minimum level for entrance as high as that player is able to do somethin in it or make lvl range for entrance ( prob easiest and cleanest way ) but in this scenario it should be chance to go thru it ( forget q or pre raid bis )
The raids are gonna be pre nerf, that means Kara is going to be extremely difficult compared to it's post nerf counterpart, just moroes is practically impossible depending on what randomized named npcs are around him.
Old People made less mistakes back then because going from level 55 to level 60 took me average 3 days . And each quest was thoroughly scanned upon online, each thing crossed checked so it would make things smooth in future. I always used to think why wow has windowed mode, but the amount if times we used thottbot for nearly every second quest was the answer.
On the gold subject i dont think it should be an entire economy wipe. But maybe a gold cap on transferring toons/accounts to not discourage new players from joining tbc
To answer your question about inflation, the best way is to remove gold from the market. Usually this is done through gold sinks such as the 5k flying mount, repair bills, etc. Another thing Blizzard could do is to start banning the people who buy gold. Not just on their throw away accounts but on their main. Not only would this reduce the amount of gold in circulation but it would also reduce demand for gold (From gold farmers) as those players will be less likely to buy gold in the future (though they might pay for level boosting). With less interest in the farming market, farmers will either have to charge less for gold or downsize, the latter of which will reduce gold in circulation even more. With less gold in circulation things like the epic flying mount will be a more effective gold sink as normal players will not be able to sell items for high prices like when gold was in circulation and the economy will slow down.
Warriors that aren’t tanks aren’t in Demand. As a NE Warrior, even at low level in Classic, I had people asking me to join their guild. So it’s what you chose to do. I also want to go back down Nostalgia Lane and play as a BE Pally. So yeah, questing might be a pain
Because the game literally just pumps out currency via mob drops or quest rewards, and just barely reclaims any of that gold via training or repair bills and such, gold will always increase in circulation. THAT is why mount training is so high. You can address the inflated gold by the game implementing gold reclamation costs. The more you complain about gold inflation, the sooner Blizzard hires an economist to advise that your reagents (for druid brez or rogue poisons for example) costs go up to reclaim the gold that it is constantly producing. Without such costs, inflation is completely unavoidable. "Gold farmers" will always be a thing. If you play the game, you are a gold farmer.

1:25 You show recipies, which eventually drop in Sunwell. When launching TBC, there is no real usage for juwelcrafting, other then gems (which are not soulbound). So I highly recommend to take any other profession on launch date.
one thing that i don't think was understood about the gold issue, a lot of those people who have absurd amounts of gold in classic, did not farm it, they bought it. very few of them actually farmed it fairly and from those that did most of them were mages who took advantage of their ability to blizzard down large groups of enemies, which is not a viable tactic in TBC ( most of the rest got their gold from mages and the gold buyers via GDKPs) so no i think something like a 6kg (5k for mount and 1k for gear and stuff) per char and maybe 12kg total cap is necessary. also, the part about some people knowing how to make thousands of gold, for them to do that other people must first have a lot of disposable gold to buy their farmed goods which they wouldn't have at launch if you have a gold cap. unless you are talking about later in the game which is besides the point, since the gold cap is so that things aren't messed up early on. This issue also applies to the inflation problem, the reason why inflation is so bad is because of bots and gold farmers, if bliz can just crack down on them more often the inflation wont be so bad.
Ok so a few things about the rep system from a tbc private server player. 1: dont worry about reputations if you are hunter. Youre getting beastlords bullshit. Youre probably getting exhaulted before you get all of them. 2: if you are an aoe class tank or healer you can skip most of the rep problems by doing repruns. These can only be done at 70. Fun fact hunters can do repruns because of their survival tree being so useful at keeping shit kited for paladins.
I wish TBC would be its own seperate thing from classic (i know it wont be). If you want to play at release you can either import a character from classic (no gold only items) and continue that characters journey or make a new one that starts at 60 except for alliance shaman and horde paladins.
I don't completely agree with your recommended leveling/rep farm method. High level (normal) dungeons give more rep and you'll be farming them anyway for gear as their loot tables remain mostly unchanged, with heroics only adding badges and epic gems. Personally I prefer going capping level first. What I like doing instead is buying/farming [Unidentified Plant Parts] and turn them in until Honored (for Cenarion Expedition). Same thing with [Arakkoa Feathers] and Lower City rep.
With WarcraftLogs I assume people don't really care about the best performing class anymore. As parses and ranks are only in competition with their own class and spec. Whether you're on the bottom of the DPS meter every raid, with WCL you can still compete for rankings via performance. That's why I love playing Enhancement shaman in Classic. It's not the best dps class but also not the worst when properly geared/bufffed. But I can still compete with other Enhancement shamans that are on the same playing field.
well you dont need Kharazan Attunement. There is behind Kharazan tower some ruins where missing texture where you drop Under the Kharazan tower, (more like Easter Egg alias Smile face under Kharazan) then you can enter the Karazan Raid portal from behind.
that doesn't work until the Sunwell patch, when all the attunement requirements were removed. You MUST have the key on your person to enter the portal.
I have no idea if WoW Tokens actually helped with the economy when they arrived, but with them at least the gold hoarders has something to spend their gold on. So maybe bring in WoW Tokens early?
I already informed my guild that I will refuse to go LW just to spam a drum bullshit in raids. We cleared everything back in the day without that cheesy mechanic and we will do it just fine again. I hate the WB trend in classic. it sucks and it's simply unnecessary. If you happen to get some fine, if not w/e. But having general chat go mental because someone poppet the Ony head and got their item when they did is just absurd. Haha yeah I think this whole world buff meta is just too much considering the raids are so easy, but I think the raids being easy is part of the reason why people do this, they're looking for a challenge and that challenge is to do speed runs, which is the unfortunate truth of playing an old game in modern times. With that said I really hope Drums are changed in Classic TBC.

@@leomarsh1985 well back in the day we were in the 8% of the prayer base who actually cleared Naxx 40. Nowadays yeah we are mostly a dads and moms guild but we are all more than decent players so we never need to try hard to be good at the game: without world buffs.
Resetting the economy is a horrible idea. As you said, it is not to bad for people who are good at making gold. Its horrible for someone who just spend much time in classic prefarming for his flying mount though. The inflation will come anyways. The reason for that is not gold that was farmed in advance but the fact that more gold drops from any content. In order to work against it the game needs to remove more gold from the game (repair cost, transmog, auction house fees ...). So Blizzard would need to adjust the way, gold flows out. But i guess the purist players would take exception to changes like that. So with the way Goldflow is designed in most addon jumps, inflation will always be a thing. Seems to work quite well in retail btw, where we have a somewhat stable value since early legion. I think transmog and prestige mounts play a huge role here but i might be wrong.
@@Leerill More like an utility build for the group, it's like Ret pally, but don' t expect the group leader will have more than 1 shadow priest/Ret pally because these two class still can' t have decent DPS like BM hunter, Warlock or AZ rogue.
My memories of TBC are beyond opposite, unless you picked a class that was needed you were often left behind for heroics. I never seemed to have the right spec of class for whatever people wanted. :p (My main classes were Mage/hunter though I did eventually try warlock)
Right now, only a couple months away from TBC, I have 406g 78s 65c on my main, and my alts all have like 10g on them. I still don't believe resetting people's gold would be a good thing or even a thing blizzard would ever possibly even consider. People worked hard for that gold in classic, whether it is from gdkps or boosting or farming or whatever, it is kind of ridiculous people even think they would consider doing that IMO. You don't need to have 50,000g to have fun in the game, I do just fine with my minimal amount of gold and just farm when I get low lol, but for some, it's about how much gold they can make playing the game that makes it enjoyable for them. They need to find a way to catch the bots and ban them, but we also know that they won't do that and hoping for it is just a dream. Other than that though, this was a great video =)

@Brian I did the original Karazhan at TBC launch and it was absolutely a raid where you could spend an entire night wiping on some bosses. There was a sizeable difference in difficulty between 2.0 Kara and 2.4.3 Kara. It wasn't really buggy either. That was SSC/TK.

Scryers is the best faction. No matter what. I deduced this from the fact that you can survive jumping off their platform but you die from Aldor, because it's higher.

You go full left where you can a sentinel stay on the edge put your char on walking mode and don't jump, just move forward for the fall. You'll end with 2 or 3% of your HP but you won't die. This is the spot where almost everyone on Warmane goes for that achievement. There are many other possible spots of course like in the belfs starting zone up on those towers with a lake bellow and others the trick is always put walking mode and never jump to try out different spots to do this. Playing TBC a few days after launch was one of the most fun times I've ever had in a game. They did such a good job on the quests / dungeons in hellfire peninsula, and each new area you get to after that is more beautiful than the last. Zangarmarsh, Nagrand.. The forests outside of Shattrath.. Ahh. So beautiful. So relaxing.
i agree with quests and dungeon in hellfire, its great, but the map itself is so annoying, the weird dungeon entrances, it has an overrall boring design compared to all other maps, altough it does give that "forgotten wasteland" vibe.

as a someone who used to play healing priest, a word of advice:
Make two banking alts, one for herbs other for leather. Pick up herbalism and skinning as lvling professions. send herbs to one banking alt, send leather to another. Once u lvl cap it. drop skinning and pick up alchemy. Send over all those herbs back and lvl alchemy up until u can craft healers alchemy stone trinket. Ull be using that trinket with blue dragon card for quite a while until u get lucky to actually get some end game trinkets from raids. When u get alchemy stone and enough stockpiled primal lifes, drop herbalism and pick up tailoring. Use all those cloths u saved while lvling and primal lifes u got from herbalism to craft healing robe set with healing enchantments etc. At this point if u upgrade ur robes to something that is better than craftable healing set, drop tailoring and pick up leatherworking. Or if u find better healing trinket then alchemy stone, drop alchemy and pick up leatherworking. LW is gonna be essential to crafting drums of speed for endgame raids. gl.

I honestly had little to no interest in playing Classic itself when it was announced. However, this one possibility, right here, is the reason I was ecstatic for Classic's announcement. It'd give me the chance to experience Burning Crusade again. I cannot wait to level a warlock through that expansion again. Tailoring/Enchanting for my Shadowweave/Spellstrike set.
Draemei Shaman for me. Enhancement to 40 and then respec to resto, like I did back then. And this was back in the day when resto could still do some proper damage, though nowhere near as well as an enhancement shaman.
In my opinion classic is good. But TBC is great. It is the refinement, the polish, of what classic should have been.

Another way to grind rep if you don't have a reliable dungeon group is to do Ethereum Jailers in Netherstorm. They drop keys to prisons that release NPCs that give reputation for several factions including Sporeggar. They can also spawn monsters that you kill for items that give Consortium rep.
In terms of the gold inflation, I kinda hope that they will give the option of completely fresh servers for people who weren't interested in classic or just want a fresh start. I think there should be transfer servers too obviously, just a choice so that there is a clear reset option if people want it.
Solve the inflation? Ban the bots and nerf the insane gold making methods. In classic this translates to trib farm, boosting etc etc
boosting is a symptom. when people can gold farm on a hunter for an hour, and pay a mage to boost their alts for 10 levels from that... ur gonna have that. hell, i mainly farm firewater n jujus n have paid to get my last 2 alts boosted.
the problem is people buying gold from farm-bots. i have seen CTS go for over 20k gold in gbid runs... yea, sorry, but there is no way (except the 1 guy on my server ALWAYS selling DMT) that was farmed legit. if prices are super inflated cause enough people have enough gold to throw around.. yea, il take their gold for my goods or mage services, and respend it on boosts
@@Max-hw7xl boosting is not a symptom, it's what drives the gold market. if you weren't able to get boosted you'd have far less incentive in buying gold from gold farmers. as you said it yourself, you farmed up the gold for boosts. if boosts werent viable, you'd have nothing to spend that gold on and you definitely wouldn't have the incentive to buy gold from gold farmers.

Kara loot was shit, organising 4 grps of 10 annoying we walked over everything upto Kael'T. Most naxx loot is better than all t4 and t5 in some cases, even pre-nerf it will be a blood bath just to gear your pallies/shammies. Kara was always and will always be a chore for me

On the Classic professions: Not entirely accurate. For example: Bloodvine. The Tailoring Bloodvineset gives you bonus crit but ONLY if you are a tailor. This is essencially like the Spellstrike set from TBC.
Plus the epic robes for each cloth class (robe of the void, archmage, and truefaith). These are BOP epic craftables very much like Spellstrike.

I remember when BC launched back in the day, it was my favorite expansion. It's the reason I just started playing WoW again, when they said they were bringing BC to Classic I jumped right in. The only problem I have is none of those I ran with from vanilla launch to 2009 play anymore and so far the only people that I've grouped with were trash

tbc isnt going fresh server though thats the thing, if you wanna keep playing classic as 60 cap you gotta like soft copy the toon onto a nilla classic server
The problem is the gold buyers with goldcap, a lot of them.
On the points of rep with CE, you can buy unidentified plant parts, usually very cheap, and get the initial rep that way as well. You could also just use them to supplement the rep you're farming in UB/SP. Blade's Edge also has quite a few quests that reward CE rep. Saving the quests till 70 also isn't really necessary, as soon as you hit Honored you can do them if you want to. Saving them for 70 just adds the bonus gold from the XP conversion but if all you care about is rep+xp then you should probably do HFP dungeon farm -> HFP quests -> ZGM dungeon farm + plant parts turnin -> ZGM quests. I'd recommend anyone serious about leveling with this method to check up on which questlines/questhubs actually reward the relevant reps, as there are many exodar quests in HFP and ZGM for example and these obviously don't need to be saved until honored.
tbc had so much outside of raids and it wasnt that bad to do either. you had your clear goal and afterwards it was done. I loved the way it let you work towards all those raids. the shattrat factions were great as well even though I will always go for the dranei one.
Yeah just the dailies for Netherwing are gonna be something that will keep you busy for hours everyday, It's gonna be great !

Re. farming rep for Revered I'd like to suggest modified approach as I think that Rep gain is level relevant:
- farm Hellfire Citadel til Honored, 0 or minimal quests.
- farm Slave Pens and Underbog til Honored
- punch all quests for these two factions.
I reached as test run both keys at level 66 mage. Probably can be done better.
Tbc was the best healing and most fun as a Druid healer and Paladin tank. Man it was fun. Paladins didn’t have a direct taunt but you could easily bubble others and you create a macro that you could create . Man they where fun.. hard to gear, but a ton of fun. But I like the harder tasks.
9:51 You are missing out the "Shattered Sun Pendant of Acumen" sold at Isle of Quel'Danas, which is by far best in slot for all casters, but only if you are an Aldor.

The only fair way to deal with the economy issue, imho, is to offer players the option of either progressing from Classic to TBC, or to start a new character on a fresh TBC server. The players with lots of gold would progress, others could start fresh.
There's tons of people asking for fresh servers on the forums and on reddit so I have a feeling Blizzard will release new fresh servers for TBC.

Regarding the gold topic. I think there is a really big difference by resetting the economy or going into TBC with a fundamentally broken economy. Think about it, 5000g for the epic flying was a huge amount of gold in TBC and will still be that at launch of tbc classic in the case of a reset. Gold makers will definitely catch up eventually but it will take some time and this will still leave a chance to fix the problem.
If we don't reset, 5k gold is nothing. Ppl are sitting on hundreds of thousands of gold and letting this in from the start will ensure that Classic TBC economy will be irreparably broken from the start.
I completely get the point of ppl who have spent months preparing gold for TBC but I really don't think it would be in the best interest of TBC to allow this in freely.

A gold reset would never work because you can just spend all your gold in the AH on consumables or crafting material and sell it after the reset again. Or even straight fill your bankalts with grey/white weapons that sell for a lot of gold at vendors after the reset.
Imagine this: runecloth sells at the AH for 10 silver and goes at the vendor for 7 silver (these are imaginary numbers but you get the point). You can convert 1000 gold to 700 gold just by vendoring said material at vendors after the reset.
only soulbound items would transfer into tbc. problem solved.
Awesome video dude! I really agree with point number 6. I played a warlock alt in TBC when it originally came out because they were OMGLEET....but years later I find that 1 button specs are boring AF. I learned that lesson with Classic in playing a mage because I wanted to have a strong class with good quality of life and could make gold easily.....except the 1 button raid meta.....ZZzzZZZzzz. Going to play a class with a playstyle I like this time around.

One possible solution for the drums would be to remove the LW requirement so anyone can use them. I'm surprised there was no mention of Bloodlust rotations and shaman stacking. That became a big deal in Sunwell.
I’m Horde, so in my logic

I want to touch on 2 things regarding "Play the class/spec you want" Most people are talking about how 'useless' ret paladin was.
*Ret paladin's* dps was hard to do (even though a one button macro actually did maximize its dps). The reason? CORRECT gear. People saw warriors and went "let's put strength or attack power leather gear on.". Yeah! that works! Retadins is a different game. Outside tier armor, the gear isn't exactly itemized great for them. Since they need both STrength AND intellect. So very few plate pieces that aren't tier gear do that. So what did you need? PVP gear. PVP gear filled out the rest of the slots very nicely except for a few places where you could find Druid gear leather (Str/agi/Int). So they only scaled WELL once they had a lot of the correct stats. Don't really need to bother with attack power since a lot of their damage... wasn't based on attack power. For instance, Seal of Command was NOT affected by attack power, but simply the damage your weapon did. Tehre is no damage difference on it when naked with a two hander and fully t6 geared with that same two hander. But having the mana to keep it up is important. Same thing with Crusader strike, attack power did not affect its damage. But you still needed mana to keep it going. Furthermore, pvp gloves increased its damage further, so tier everything but gloves and then pvp gloves gave them a good dps boost.
Their dps would still be on the lower end, but what they do bring besides, a lot of buffs and a lot of buffs prot and holy can't bring. the 3% extra crit damage against its target being a raidwide buff essentially is on its own useful to have ONE ret paladin (and then sanctity aura was worth it if paired with a prot paladin's group)
*survival hunter* I remember in tbc days, most people wanted BM because "It does more damage". Well, selfish nancy's, every group should be DEMANDING a survival hunter. Survival hunters wanted agility+ gear over Attack power+ gear, because they had that expose weakness debuff where 33% of their agi gets added to attack power to ALL physical damage dealers in the RAID (not party) against that target, and this was one of the biggest potential damage boosts, and only survival had it. Why raids skipped this I'll never know. "but my damage is a little better as BM" yeah, but EVERYONE'S damage is a lot better if you're survival. But, you only wanted one survival hunter. there was no point in having two.
Easy fix on the auction house. Anything bought out of it should not be able to be reposted for 7 days, and the difference between bid and buy out price should be only 10%.
Pay attention to stats. I couldn't get a good tanking shield pre-kara, so I ground out some honor and picked up the PvP shield, which had a TON of armor and stam.
But it also had resilience, which helps tanks be crit-immune.
So hyped for TBC classic, and very useful vid!
But it sadens me to think most people will now follow this meta way of levelling for rep rather then just playing normally...
maybe not a reset but a cap for how much you can take to TBC, maybe like 5k or something.

I love your video man but I disagree on the economy reset. The best way to make gold has always been playing the AH, which takes a lot of gold. That is why a economic reset sets inflation back. The more gold the AH players have to start with, the sooner they can start playing the market.
So I think the economic reset is more usefull than you think bro.

I think that a lot of people who makes guides forget that a lot of us don't come here because we want the best of the best, but because we're afraid we might make a mistake in our choices. It's so nice hearing the whole "play what you enjoy, not what is good", because it soothes the anxiety of making wrong choices, while actually letting us enjoy our time more with the game. Many of us treat the guides as voices of authority, so it really matters what we hear, hence why so many more people rolled warrior and mage in classic compared to vanilla. I think some people would actually have enjoyed the game more if they heard that chosing what's fun is okay, rather than "you need to go this spec, and use these consumables, and get these world buffs".
When I first started playing classic (having never played vanilla and knowing nothing), I picked priest because it was the best healer, but by level 45 I simply quit the game. I just wasn't having fun. So I just sort of gave up and decided to level a druid because I knew they were faster levelers, and figured I would at least get to 60 then. Now I have two level 60 druids and I'm so passionate about my class despite it being subpar in many regards, because it's just the class I have the most fun with by far.

I like having engineering in classic because it gives a bunch of different useful items. I do not want to lock out one of my professions for ONE SINGLE item. Priests do not need leatherworking.
Absolutely, the best solution I think would be to make Drums give the exhaustion debuff like they did later on in wrath.
10k gold dosent happend over night tho. That is something peoples have accumulated of months and month of play. So yes an economy reset would make the launch and severals month moving forward a better experience.
If they told us they were resetting gold, someone with 10k gold would just buy 10k worth of mats off AH, then sell them again in TBC. Might take a couple days to sell but they'd have 10k+ in a couple days again. It would be annoying and that's about all.
You forgot to mention that the Aldor / Scryers choice influences the Quel Danas necklace in patch 2.4.
Scryers hunters/melee dps will basically be screwed because the Aldor AP proc of that necklace at exalted is MUCH better. That's late in the game, but still...
Blizzard needs to commit staffing to the game to fix the econ. We need constant bans of bots by active gms to fix the economy issue
There's a player on my server who has been the same lvl for 4 months .A Druid lvl 44 ,He farms the shellfish in Desolace at all hours. I think he may be a gold farmer.
Mind you for #4, There's no "show lower level quests" in TBC. That came in Wrath. So if you're going to ding 70 without doing any of the HFP/Zangar quests, you're gonna need some help from a quest addon.
ahhh good old times playing tankadin without having to gimick, and ret paladin could be somewhat viable (even if you where sometimes a +2% bonus for damage for the rest of party)
ikr? My guild was against me tanking (as a paladin), but after I did a few runs that made otherwhise difficult heroics and ae tanking in general a breeze, they changed their midn.

Tankadin is great in TBC but you needs to really learn how to manage your mana
I'm a hunter player, I have played hunter for the most part since vanilla. one of the few times I did switch, was oddly enough in tbc, where I switched to rogue, what a mistake, Hunters were OP were rogue sucked. I only play Warlock for PvP, because its really fun. Elemental shaman is also very fun, all tese classes just happen to be very useful too. So this time artound, I will not be switching to rogue, but stay hunter and level a warlock for PvP
Best choice ever, just play what you love playing because if you force yourself to play something that performs good but that you don't necessarily enjoy you're just not going to have fun because your class is the scope through which you see the game and if you don't enjoy it you won't enjoy the game !
There's always classic tbc where you and all the classic warriors can reroll the fotm classes.
A gold reset helps - but you'd also have to get rid of stuff in banks that could sell for a lot

About the economy.... : Resset will help alot, cause like u said they need to do it AGAIN ( it also could help classic economy if blizz annouces it right now somethin like: U ll get 10% of your money ) How to stop breakin economy again? Blizz should probably aim for the highest income strategise and thats boostin ( and it ll be far far bigger in TBC ) So how u can stop or slow boostin proces so it shouldnt be so efective as money tool? Lower the entrances pre hour or set minimum level for entrance as high as that player is able to do somethin in it or make lvl range for entrance ( prob easiest and cleanest way ) but in this scenario it should be chance to go thru it ( forget q or pre raid bis )
The raids are gonna be pre nerf, that means Kara is going to be extremely difficult compared to it's post nerf counterpart, just moroes is practically impossible depending on what randomized named npcs are around him.
Old People made less mistakes back then because going from level 55 to level 60 took me average 3 days . And each quest was thoroughly scanned upon online, each thing crossed checked so it would make things smooth in future.
I always used to think why wow has windowed mode, but the amount if times we used thottbot for nearly every second quest was the answer.
Now I feel prepared
On the gold subject i dont think it should be an entire economy wipe. But maybe a gold cap on transferring toons/accounts to not discourage new players from joining tbc
To answer your question about inflation, the best way is to remove gold from the market. Usually this is done through gold sinks such as the 5k flying mount, repair bills, etc. Another thing Blizzard could do is to start banning the people who buy gold. Not just on their throw away accounts but on their main. Not only would this reduce the amount of gold in circulation but it would also reduce demand for gold (From gold farmers) as those players will be less likely to buy gold in the future (though they might pay for level boosting). With less interest in the farming market, farmers will either have to charge less for gold or downsize, the latter of which will reduce gold in circulation even more. With less gold in circulation things like the epic flying mount will be a more effective gold sink as normal players will not be able to sell items for high prices like when gold was in circulation and the economy will slow down.
Warriors that aren’t tanks aren’t in Demand. As a NE Warrior, even at low level in Classic, I had people asking me to join their guild. So it’s what you chose to do.
I also want to go back down Nostalgia Lane and play as a BE Pally. So yeah, questing might be a pain
Because the game literally just pumps out currency via mob drops or quest rewards, and just barely reclaims any of that gold via training or repair bills and such, gold will always increase in circulation. THAT is why mount training is so high. You can address the inflated gold by the game implementing gold reclamation costs. The more you complain about gold inflation, the sooner Blizzard hires an economist to advise that your reagents (for druid brez or rogue poisons for example) costs go up to reclaim the gold that it is constantly producing. Without such costs, inflation is completely unavoidable. "Gold farmers" will always be a thing. If you play the game, you are a gold farmer.

1:25 You show recipies, which eventually drop in Sunwell. When launching TBC, there is no real usage for juwelcrafting, other then gems (which are not soulbound). So I highly recommend to take any other profession on launch date.

one thing that i don't think was understood about the gold issue, a lot of those people who have absurd amounts of gold in classic, did not farm it, they bought it. very few of them actually farmed it fairly and from those that did most of them were mages who took advantage of their ability to blizzard down large groups of enemies, which is not a viable tactic in TBC ( most of the rest got their gold from mages and the gold buyers via GDKPs) so no i think something like a 6kg (5k for mount and 1k for gear and stuff) per char and maybe 12kg total cap is necessary. also, the part about some people knowing how to make thousands of gold, for them to do that other people must first have a lot of disposable gold to buy their farmed goods which they wouldn't have at launch if you have a gold cap. unless you are talking about later in the game which is besides the point, since the gold cap is so that things aren't messed up early on. This issue also applies to the inflation problem, the reason why inflation is so bad is because of bots and gold farmers, if bliz can just crack down on them more often the inflation wont be so bad.
Ok so a few things about the rep system from a tbc private server player. 1: dont worry about reputations if you are hunter. Youre getting beastlords bullshit. Youre probably getting exhaulted before you get all of them. 2: if you are an aoe class tank or healer you can skip most of the rep problems by doing repruns. These can only be done at 70. Fun fact hunters can do repruns because of their survival tree being so useful at keeping shit kited for paladins.
The problem is that's it not very fun playing a class that gets benched all the time :(

I wish TBC would be its own seperate thing from classic (i know it wont be). If you want to play at release you can either import a character from classic (no gold only items) and continue that characters journey or make a new one that starts at 60 except for alliance shaman and horde paladins.

I don't completely agree with your recommended leveling/rep farm method.
High level (normal) dungeons give more rep and you'll be farming them anyway for gear as their loot tables remain mostly unchanged, with heroics only adding badges and epic gems. Personally I prefer going capping level first.
What I like doing instead is buying/farming [Unidentified Plant Parts] and turn them in until Honored (for Cenarion Expedition).
Same thing with [Arakkoa Feathers] and Lower City rep.
With WarcraftLogs I assume people don't really care about the best performing class anymore. As parses and ranks are only in competition with their own class and spec.
Whether you're on the bottom of the DPS meter every raid, with WCL you can still compete for rankings via performance. That's why I love playing Enhancement shaman in Classic. It's not the best dps class but also not the worst when properly geared/bufffed. But I can still compete with other Enhancement shamans that are on the same playing field.
well you dont need Kharazan Attunement. There is behind Kharazan tower some ruins where missing texture where you drop Under the Kharazan tower, (more like Easter Egg alias Smile face under Kharazan) then you can enter the Karazan Raid portal from behind.
that doesn't work until the Sunwell patch, when all the attunement requirements were removed. You MUST have the key on your person to enter the portal.
I have no idea if WoW Tokens actually helped with the economy when they arrived, but with them at least the gold hoarders has something to spend their gold on. So maybe bring in WoW Tokens early?

I hate the WB trend in classic. it sucks and it's simply unnecessary. If you happen to get some fine, if not w/e. But having general chat go mental because someone poppet the Ony head and got their item when they did is just absurd. He paid his subscription to play the game ands get that item: you and your world buff are irrelevant.

Haha yeah I think this whole world buff meta is just too much considering the raids are so easy, but I think the raids being easy is part of the reason why people do this, they're looking for a challenge and that challenge is to do speed runs, which is the unfortunate truth of playing an old game in modern times.
With that said I really hope Drums are changed in Classic TBC.

I understand YOU want to do the best you can do so you can get world buffs but some people talk bad on people who don’t have them lmao. You can already clear the content with 40 pallies you don’t need world buffs at all to clear content

Nowadays yeah we are mostly a dads and moms guild but we are all more than decent players so we never need to try hard to be good at the game: without world buffs.
MAybe put a cap on the amount of gold you are allowed to take with you into TBC.
Resetting the economy is a horrible idea. As you said, it is not to bad for people who are good at making gold. Its horrible for someone who just spend much time in classic prefarming for his flying mount though. The inflation will come anyways. The reason for that is not gold that was farmed in advance but the fact that more gold drops from any content. In order to work against it the game needs to remove more gold from the game (repair cost, transmog, auction house fees ...). So Blizzard would need to adjust the way, gold flows out. But i guess the purist players would take exception to changes like that. So with the way Goldflow is designed in most addon jumps, inflation will always be a thing. Seems to work quite well in retail btw, where we have a somewhat stable value since early legion. I think transmog and prestige mounts play a huge role here but i might be wrong.
My class tier for PvE : Tier 0 > Tier 1 > Tier 2 > Tier 3
Tier 0: BM Hunter, Warlock (DPS Affliction First then Destruction when you get T5 gears), Restoration Shaman
Tier 1: Rogue (AZ=must), Holy Pally, Holy Priest, Prot Warrior, Feral Druid, MM Hunter, Restoration Druid
Tier 2: Prot Pally, Elemental/Enhancement Shaman, Mage, Fury Warrior (Don' t play if you can' t get legendary AZ).
Tier 3: Survival Hunter, Ret Pally, Discipline Priest/Shadow Priest, Arms Warrior, Balance Druid
Shadow priests are essential for raids and are R1 viable in 2s and 3s lol
@@Leerill More like an utility build for the group, it's like Ret pally, but don' t expect the group leader will have more than 1 shadow priest/Ret pally because these two class still can' t have decent DPS like BM hunter, Warlock or AZ rogue.

My memories of TBC are beyond opposite, unless you picked a class that was needed you were often left behind for heroics. I never seemed to have the right spec of class for whatever people wanted. :p (My main classes were Mage/hunter though I did eventually try warlock)
Right now, only a couple months away from TBC, I have 406g 78s 65c on my main, and my alts all have like 10g on them. I still don't believe resetting people's gold would be a good thing or even a thing blizzard would ever possibly even consider. People worked hard for that gold in classic, whether it is from gdkps or boosting or farming or whatever, it is kind of ridiculous people even think they would consider doing that IMO. You don't need to have 50,000g to have fun in the game, I do just fine with my minimal amount of gold and just farm when I get low lol, but for some, it's about how much gold they can make playing the game that makes it enjoyable for them. They need to find a way to catch the bots and ban them, but we also know that they won't do that and hoping for it is just a dream. Other than that though, this was a great video =)
