    Thank you! My machine is a needle-feed Jocky, but very similar to yours. I started taking apart the bobbin case and hook area without a clue what I was doing, taking pictures as I went. After so far though I started getting worried that I was getting in too deep... so I looked for a video and watched a few that didn't seem to help. Then I found this one. Machine is de-jammed 😊 and put back together and working... no going on the hunt to find a local repair shop willing to take it on (been tough in the past), hauling it in, and paying well over $200. It was very nice of you to post this video for our benefit. Heaven bless you!

The edge of my fingers are raw so I'm taking a little break. TIA

Up to this point I just cut my needles and worked from the top. Hello this video is such a blessing. I am unfortunately having a really tough time putting the bobbin basket in so it hooks onto the tooth of that side bar I loosened. I did manage to free the half needle that got stuck. I've been worried all night about fixing this. there doesn't seem to be a lot of industrial sewing repair people here in New Bedford MA. And this machine has been such a great help in bagmaking. Again I thank you no matter how this turns out. I may have to lay on my back to line it up correctly. I will let you know how I make out. thanks again!

      @dinastevensmamamonarchdesi8823  4 года назад

      Melinda Matos. I hope you are able to fix it. I know how frustrating this can be. I had this issue before and it was because my needle was in the down position causing the bottom fed plate to be low. I only needed to rotate the hand wheel a little moving the bottom feed dog to the up position. I hope that helps. Good luck!❤️

    • @Mellie726
      @Mellie726 4 года назад

      @@dinastevensmamamonarchdesi8823 Hi Dina, I followed your directions about the tooth from the side bar positioned into that space in the hook. My soninlaw tightened the screw for me and it worked. But only one thing every now and then if you happen to put the needle down in the feeddog bed without fabric in between it hits something. other than that with fabric under it it sews perfectly. may have to look into getting someone here just to be on the safe side. Not sure b/c of Covid 19 if they're doing house calls but we'll see. Again thanks so so much. Without your video I would be absolutely nowhere. Have a great weekend!

    • @Mellie726

      Hi Dina could I trouble you to answer one question, but you have to lift your machine. Would you be able to tell me if the position finger that holds the bobbin basket in that little oval circle, (that you show in your video) flush against it or does it drop a little, it seems like mine falls a little and then I sew and then the finger is out. (the screw is tight) thank you in advance!

    • @dinastevensmamamonarchdesi8823
      @dinastevensmamamonarchdesi8823  4 года назад

      Melinda Matos it does drop down a little. It sits flush with the surroundings. Did you fix your needle issue? You might want to check and make sure your needle timing is correct. You can find me on Facebook and add me if you have more questions. That way I can send you pictures. There’s an easy to follow video out from Steve at sewing gold on how to check your needle bar timing. Before you take the face plate off look and see if it needs to be timed. You also might want to put a new needle in to see if that fixes your issue.

      Hi Kathryn. When I have thread stuck between the bobbin casing and the machine it will cause the hand wheel to seize up. That’s the only time the hand wheel ever seizes. In my experience trying to loosen it with oil and getting the bobbin casing to spin and removing the stuck thread or if you can’t then follow the steps in the video.

      Oh no! I’m so sorry. Sometimes adding a little oil around the bobbin casing helps. If it is still stuck reach out to me and I’ll walk you through it. I jam thread enough that I’m good at it now so I’m happy to help. Couple of things to avoid that are don’t load your bobbin completely full and make sure it’s wound tightly so it doesn’t spin loosely and nest on the bobbin. Unfortunately that is a flaw to this model but those two tips will help immensely.

    I greatly enjoyed your video and learned a lot from it. Thanks!
    PS:
    1. You can buy a simple, inexpensive tool to magnetize and demagnetize your screwdrivers.
    2. Would it be advisable to use a removable thread-lock compound on those tiny screws that must not work loose? E.g. Loctite Medium Strength Threadlocker (Blue 242).
    Both may be found at your local Ace Hardware and online.

    I did exactly as you described worked perfectly, but I dropped a couple of the screws and can't seem to find replacements, do you know what the technical term for them are? I ordered some but they didn't fit.

      But I should have kept my screws in order and/or viewed the entire video to find out that they aren't all the same size! I couldn't imagine that they were different. But it is all back together and working. Thank you SO much for doing a 1181 specific video.

    What do you do when your screw driver breaks, but the little screws don’t budge?

    I simply cannot get the bobbin case back in. I worked 5 hours on this thing - I'm beginning to regret buying the machine. I've tried everything including this video umpteen times - it won't reassemble. What can I possibly be doing wrong?

    How are you getting the screws out if the shaft doesn't turn. At the beginning you said it is stuck and won't turn?

    • @dinastevensmamamonarchdesi8823

      You have to first loosen the arm that is holding the bobbin in place. It’s at the first part of the video

      @@mskweenie860 I’d be able to help better verbally. You can call me or video chat later. I don’t know the name of the pieces but if you can show me what it is you are calling the base I can help. Find me on FB D’Anitra Lewis. My profile has a picture of me with the word vibes going across.
