Best video out there!!! Finally someone gets it when we ask "how to unjam a machine!" Now, my thread cutter is still jammed on my Juki TL-18QVP and I have no idea where it is. I can't see any threads anywhere that would be cause such a horrendous noise when I press the button.
Hot tip: you do not have to remove the position finger screw all the way, just enough to pull down the finger keeper out of the slot, then rotate the bobbin -(both will most likely rotate at the same time - inner and outer since the tread is still jammed) then push the finger back up into place, temporarily retightening the finger position screw if necessary. Finish as instructed on the vid - (magnetic screwdriver for sure!) and then just reverse the procedure, Saves one hassel anyway. It works; I've done it a dozen time and still can't figure out why it keeps jamming, very frustrating. Have fun - Cheers
make sure the top slot in the basket is at the 12 o'clock position before you put that basket stop (with red marker line up) back on. If it's not, you will be doing the position finger over and it's very hard to get the screw started.
Thank you so much for this video 💕. I managed to free jammed bobbin case that is now moving. My only problem now is that the needle is not well timed anymore and it breaks at the end of the cycle. Have this happened to you? How can I fix this problem?
Hi Steve, I did have thread stuck and after I put it back together my ? Hook assembly? Won’t spin 😢 what did I do wrong? You have helped me so many times fix my machine I’ve had for 2 years I love you videos. But I really messed-up this time
thank you for sharing this video i had a same problem with a toyota machine .. when the needle form a litlle loop the hook wasn't sharp enough and it refuse to grab' the thread loop ,....
My Juki DNU 1541 (not the S model) is jammed. I've removed the bobbin case and found tangled threads in it. I think I need to go through the process in this video, but how would that process differ with a 1541? Thanks in advance!
Hi. I have a Juki ddl8700-7, with cp-160 and control box SC-910A. Whe I stop sewing machine needle stop down and the knife of thread trim is hitting the needle and blocking the movement of sewing machine put motor in overload. What is the problem?
I finally got my new machine sewing. I think that in shipping, things loosened up and the heavy T135 thread threw the timing all out of whack. Using T90, she sews now, but the safety clutch is locking way too often. New thread, new needles, just continues to lock up. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Thanks!
I finally picked up a 1541s, and am getting it setup for sewing leather. I have noticed that the walking foot does not go up very high when sewing, and has difficulty sewing over layers. Is there an adjustment, or is something wrong with my machine?
I have a 1181 but now it won't pick up the bobbin thread and it seems like the inside of the case where the bobbin goes it moves around is that suppose to happen
I just found your channel and have a sewing machine question for you. I purchased an old Consew industrial machine (DDS-500) that I have used on probably 10 projects (projects my standard machine can't handle). Yesterday, I was altering my third pair of denim jeans and the machine jammed. There was no warning noise or broken thread, just completely stopped. The needle is stuck down in the bobbin (almost all the way down) and I can't budge the motor wheel at all (seriously, it doesn't move at all). I have looked for videos to help, but all of them tell me to remove the bobbin case first, but the bobbin case doesn't budge (assume it's because the needle is down in it). Are you able to advise on the steps I need to fix this issue? Do I start with loosening the position finger/bar first? Thank you in advance.
Hi Steve, I have a Pfaff 563 where the shuttle bobbin doesn't spin when using the machine via the motor. It's not stuck as you can move it with your finger. Really perplexed. Any idea as what could be the problem? Thanks!
Excellent video, but, my brand new 1541S jammed up after only an hour or so of sewing. No matter how many times I reset the clutch, it still jammed. I took it all apart, per your video, and have found that the position finger doesn't slide into the hook basket far enough, to hold it, and the hook basket stop finger doesn't protrude into the basket fat enough to act as a stop. the basket keeps spinning a short way, until it jams, with both stops becoming unseated. This is a brand new machine and I have already spent days, trying to get it straightened out. Any ideas why these two parts won't reach? Thank you!
SewingGold.com - I tried bending it just a bit. It's a pretty sturdy piece. Hoping to conference call with a mechanic, from the place I bought it, on Monday. Tough way to start a relationship with a new machine. Thank you for your reply!
Thank you for this video! It is exactly what I needed to know and very helpful. I am having trouble getting the screw our of the opener. I tried an Allen wrench and it did not pop out like yours did. It may be stripped. Any suggestions? Also, the opener seems to be stuck on the hook in certain places when I move the wheel? Do you know why that may be? Thanks!
Sir G Jockey sewing machine is fitted by the company with double stitches. While the mechanic puts single stitches during the repair, I want to know in detail why the double stitches do not work properly after repairing.
Hii, my DU1181N got jammed in the bobbin case holder? by a broken needle.. any tips? Tried the same by these steps and he can turn again.. but the new needle continually touches the bobbincase, bobbin case doesn’t go in as easy as normal and the thread doesn’t pick itself up
Hi! My machine caught a thread and it is really jammed up...won't even turned...do you have any tutorial which is showing something different? Need help😢😢😢
This is the correct video. If you remove the position finger and opener first, the hook will rotate so you can remove the screws to take the hook apart.

Alberto is really focusing hey, hope you thanked him for his patience! Thank you for this, nothing like fixing your own machine
This video just saved my sanity!!
Just three words.... I love you!!! You have saved me again..... Thanks!

Great video, thank you. Saved me a 2 hour drive to the repair shop!
Glad it helped

I owe you guys a beer, saved my Consew P1206's bacon today, jammed up tight BUT now it's alright! Thanks mucho!

thanks for all the video's very helpful. question here: 8:08 mine doesn't set flush, and it actually moves past... what do you suggest?
Thank you so much!! I watched so many videos that did not help but this video did thank you
Thank you so much Steve for this video. I was able to reposition my hook basket and get back up up and running in just minutes. Appreciate all you do!
No problem Sherry. I'm glad it got you up and running.
Thank you Alberto and Steve.
Thanks a lot! Back up and working in a short time. Keep up the maintenance infor!
Glad it helped!
Thanks Steve. Have used this video to unjam my 8700H. Slightly different. But was able to make it work.
Glad it helped.

Steve - my 1541 sews great - but keeps breaking thread in reverse? Any suggestions- thanks Mike
Is this waht I should do if my bobbin case is stuck in the chamber.
My hook assembly jammed today on my 1181. I cannot get my bobbin case out and the needle is down. Needle appears to be free but hook won't turn. Help!

There's no thread stuck in mine, do I just loosen the first part and turn it then fix it back? Or I have to still take out the three screws

I have a brand new Juki du1181n. I just got it set up and I tried to sew. I get an error 7code and the hand wheel will not turn at all.

Have you tried bending the position finger to get it closer to the basket? Be careful not to break it.

Unfortunately I do not. Are you sure it is the correct size. More then likely it is metric.
@@Sewinggold thank you. I figured it out. It was actually the safety switch. I watched your other video to disengage it.
Sir G Jockey sewing machine is fitted by the company with double stitches. While the mechanic puts single stitches during the repair, I want to know in detail why the double stitches do not work properly after repairing.
My hook assembly stopped spinning. Did I break a gear or something?
It is probably your safety clutch. Watch this: ruclips.net/video/v2E4TahJ62Q/видео.html
Thanks 👍👍👍👍

Please email me some pictures or better yet, a video. info@sewinggold.com
How can I prevent this to continue happening?
Mine won’t spin at all? I wonder if I should do this?
It is probably the safety clutch. We have 2 or 3 videos on how to fix that problem.
My machine needle is not moving up and down
I went through all the steps to remove a jamed thread and now my 1541 won't actually make a stitch. Any idea what might be wrong?

Thank you
Can you help me with my sewing machine - bobbin case got stuck in driver and can’t take it out. Brand is Lemair Pacesetter super full automatic 703 .
Unfortunately I am not familiar with the brand or model. If you post a video of the machine and the problem, I can try.
Thank you very much for replying. I have managed to take it out. Thanks again
Steve, can you do this with the Juki 1181n also?
It is virtually the same. The DNU-1541 series has a few extra parts.
Hi! My machine caught a thread and it is really jammed up...won't even turned...do you have any tutorial which is showing something different? Need help😢😢😢
This is the correct video. If you remove the position finger and opener first, the hook will rotate so you can remove the screws to take the hook apart.
If you lose those screws you’re screwed 😮
THIS VIDEO SAVED MY BUTT THANK YOU FOR POSTING IT!!!!!!!
No problem.
My bobbin won't even come out!
Good god... I hope this doesn't happen very often...
