As far as Alicent knows ... Aemond did annihilate Luke in the skies just for fun. And everyone seems to think Daemon is his idol. He even wears his hair the same. And they both have unquenchable thirst for the throne.
I think Aemond is trying to live up to the image that he pretends to be, which makes him scarier. Damon at least has this internal struggle with the bad things he has done/will do.
@@BombasticLove87 Agreed. I think that's what Alicent is trying to say. Aemond relishes in people thinking he's horrible. Just imagine Aemond with not only Vaeghar but also the throne. And perhaps he has a grudge against humanity. So he leans into his blue sapphire-eyed monster look. Always laying in wait to take his revenge when the time is ripe.
Just gotta move that D to the other side and they're the same guy
I've gone from listening to recaps of GOT episodes from multiple podcasts/RUclips channels to listening to just OCC. In fact I didn't even listen to ANY of your recaps for House Of The Dragon until episode three of this season and now I'm fully back in. I also watch Alt Shift X's reviews but I almost don't count him because he gets VERY in depth and detailed and his videos are often over 3 hours long. He's sort of like Dan Carlin but for GOT/HOTD, his videos are more deep dives than recaps. It's not the same as your guys' recaps because, while you do get into the details, you break it down for regular fans and not just the super fans who've read the books 20 times and know absolutely everything about the world of ice and fire haha. Keep up the great work!

In this episode , Alys Rivers appears on the balcony while Deamon was working below, Deamon clearly hears horrible screams of a woman at the same time she appeared on the balcony. It is possible those screams belonged to her when she was alive. I agree with you, Alys Rivers most likely is a ghost at Harrenhal.

Of note
1)Daemon and his quest to be king is coming to fruition. He seems to be learning that managing different houses is difficult.
2) character development for team green seems lacking. Larris hasn’t done much this season, Cole has kinda stalled, Alicient is losing power and Otto is out.
Is Helaena gonna get some screen time ?
Pushing all the chips in on Aemond.
3) Baela over Jace…not sure Jace is the real deal. Baella’s maturity and smooth communication leaves impressions. Jace is too green and as you guys alluded too may be making moves that backfire.

Sequence of events is out of order in your breakdown. Rhaenyra talks to Alfred before the River Lord's visit Harron Hall. You guys are great though! Love your breakdowns! The scene you're referencing where you're concerned for the Riverlords was actually Alfred on his way to Harrenhal with a retinue - it wasn't the Riverlords.

I wonder if we're going to be introduced to ancestors of Robert Baratheon soon with Rhaenyra looking for dragon riders. His claim to the throne was based on Targaryen ancestry.
Already met some Baratheons. Lucerys is trying to get the Baratheons in Storm’s End to join them right before Aemond murders him.
@@OystersClamsCockles True, but they and Hugh seem to be the best candidates for dragon riders. Hugh doesn't have that white hair for nothing.
I immediately thought of Hugh as a Dragon rider candidate as well.
I hope that Ross’s theory about ghost lady is true because I have the same theory sparked by that same scene with Daemon. Either a ghostly 6th sense situation or she is a figment of his imagination. It would be a cool layer to him being there because otherwise I’m sort of getting tired of him being stuck there.

I think this may have been the first time we saw Hugh in a day time scene. I did not realize he had solver blond hair- Targaryen blond, if you will. I wonder if he might be a dragonseed.
Also, I think the reason Rhaenyra didnt completepy break down over Rhaenys death was that she realized she HAD to bury her grief otherwise she'd gove her own Small Council more ammo to ignore her.

After I listened to this recap, I watched the clip they were referencing when Daemon and Alys are talking and then Alys leaves and Simon walks into the room. Simon very clearly looks over to where Daemon was looking and is visibly confused for a second. She's 100% a hallucination or a ghost.
Update now that episode six has aired: Welp I was wrong. Simon Strong confirmed that Alys is in fact real. Boy were we off haha.

The more I think about it. Alyce being a ghost projection does feel intriguing. And she did disappear. But wasn't Ross also the one who had the ghost theory in Night Country when that old lady seemed to make a huge feast for Christmas that no one other than perhaps her spirit friends were expected to attend?

@@OystersClamsCockles tbh ... It seems like writers sometimes make women characters so thin and tropey that they only end up talking to one main character. So in-universe they might as well be a ghost. That seemed to happen in Night Country. But a male ghost would most likely do much more than play mind games with the leads.
I'm with Ross's theory - "Alys Rivers, not real, ghost" - I think she was also impersonating Daemon's mom, since he never met her

I'm talking about the death of Lucerys, his uncle. Everyone knows he killed Luke. Everyone assumes Rhaenyra killed the young kid. Yet people all over keep calling out Rhaenyra as an evil person. Did they forget about Luke?
