    I have both Pure Piano and the American D. For acoustic piano, I prefer Pure. For piano + pad (or piano + strings), I prefer the American D. Pure Piano is an unbelievable value, even when it is not on sale. I think the sound quality is better than most stage pianos that I've tried in the past (although I've never played the $2,000+ high-end options from Nord, Dexibell, etc.). I've made the jump to virtual instruments on the iPad (combined with 1 or 2 MIDI keyboard controllers) and I am not looking back.

    Pedal and key noise is my favourite part of this app.

      Interesting to know. I'm much happier now they've made it possible to adjust the amount of noise as it allows some realism without it detracting from the sound which is how I found the original. Thanks for watching!

    Great review...I love this piano. Can you actually change the reverb then as I feel I want more depth. Also..what gear are you using to connect to your piano? Irig 2? Usb ? I'd really appreciate it if you could explain...as the sound comes back through the piano which is perfect. TIA

      Hi Lee, thanks for watching. Pure Piano does have reverb built in. You can either use the preset levels within the morph-pad or if you go into the FX section you can modify it manually. Of course you could also use an external reverb audio unit as another option.
      I connect my piano to the iPad with an iRig2.
      In terms of the sound, when I'm recording the video I take the sound from pure piano directly from the ipad. The 'live' sound in the room is just from the iPad speakers. The piano does have an audio input so I could (in theory) route the audio that way, but I've not actually tried to do it.

    The pure upright sounds even better imo

      it certainly seems to default to a brighter sound. I'm going to do a head to head test between them to see how they perform when controlled by the Kawai.

    Good review, thank you. What iPad are you running it on? Will a 6 Gen A10 do, or does one need a current iPad Pro?

    • @SiEffen
      @SiEffen  2 года назад

      I'm running it on an iPad Air 4 which is A12. So you don't need a Pro, but I don't know whether or not it would be fine on an A10.

    Which is better, Pure Piano or Ravenscroft 275?

    • @SiEffen
      @SiEffen  2 года назад

      I find them good for different things. If I want a really bright piano I tend to use Ravenscroft, if I want something more mellow I find Pure Piano delivers better. Check out my comparison video ruclips.net/video/qlzkQY1tB50/видео.html

      I've got both of them definitely Ravenscroft

  • @robertsteinberger5667

    No, because it has no sustain control, there is either too much sustain or too little

    • @SiEffen
      @SiEffen  2 года назад +2

      I agree the sustain pedal could be better as it's either on or off. So it's definitely not perfect but the sustain seems to be a common theme with the pianos I've tried on iOS.

    They are not bad. but I don't think they're worth 30 pounds. each

    • @SiEffen
      @SiEffen  Год назад

      Thanks Joshua. For me it depends upon use case and how much focus is on the piano in the finished project, as well as what sounds 'good' to you.
