My aunt works at Walmart. Has for over 20 yrs. In the accounting office. She has no degree. Makes decent money and 5 yrs ago when she was diagnosed w cancer her insurance was phenomenal. She has nothing but good things to say about them. Also you cant expect any business to keep open when theyve been operating at a loss every year because of rampant theft.

And for every aunt with cancer you can pull up, I can find 10,000 employees without affordable insurance, in the very same company.
I'm glad they did right by her. Truly.
But you'd be better off sucking up to them than trying to convince me to change my mind. The 10,000 I can find have kids and our government pays for those kids' insurance.
While Walmart's PROFIT is a billion and a half per year.

It's hard to take you seriously as a farmer promoting sustainability when you use Walmart as a sponsor, an organization which treats the climate, environment, and its employees poorly. Not saying your farming practices are unsustainable, I'm saying branding yourself in this way seems unserious

@@davidj.mackinney6568 Not only have I been to Walmart, Walmart is the only place to buy groceries in my home town. Within 2 years of opening , they undercut local businesses and forced them to close. Then they raised prices and hired all the people who were making living wages before and paid them poverty wages.
If I had a choice, I would _never_ shop there, but we now have no choice (unless we wanna drive like 40 minutes away). Many communities where Walmart operates have similar stories.
I'm _very_ well-acquainted with Walmart which makes me all the more dismayed by Morgan having them as a sponsor.

As consumers we don't have a whole lot of power, so I'm definitely gonna use the resources available to me. Doesn't mean I can't be critical. Morgan gets income from these videos and other sponsors. He doesn't have to partner with Walmart and his decision to work with them signals an interest in profit over ethic. In the grand scheme of things it's not a huge deal. But I'm not complaining, I'm pointing something out for accountability. We are all helping Morgan profit and succeed by watching his videos so we should hold him accountable and tell him our thoughts.

Woman from Glasgow here! Stay out of the cities. They're just like every other city anywhere else. Our Highlands and Islands are wonderful and you'll meet so many completely different types of people in communities that may only be 30 miles apart. Our weather is very similar to yours so any farmer you meet that has the time to talk, can defo give you tips if you're interested. Our wildlife is INCREDIBLE. You'll have a blast. :)

Very disappointed you accepted a sponsor relationship with Walmart. As with other mega-corporations, Walmart pushes inhumane animal treatment on its beef, pork and poultry vendors via its buying prowess and its greed. The company's meat policies directly contradict your beliefs about raising and caring for animals.
In addition, Walmart pays many of its retail employees so poorly that taxpayers foot the bill for employee healthcare via ACA subsidies and Medicaid. The company's benefit requirements also restrict the number of employees qualifying for medical benefits (ex: keep employees just under the number of hours necessary to qualify - by policy). This gives Walmart an unfair advantage over other grocery chains and - in a way - dehumanizes their employees.
Morgan I love you buddy but I urge you to reconsider Walmart as a sponsor. Their corporate philosophies, market/competition strategies, and Human Resources record are enough for me to never shop there. Please I ask you to research carefully and reconsider. Your philosophy, ethics, small business ethics and stated beliefs do not align at all with Walmart’s. I’m more than a little surprised that you have any relationship with them. Thanks buddy! Parts of your car, computer, cellphone, the grocery products you buy, clothing, and practically every item in your life is in someway connected to all of the charges you make against a single company. Its owners' wealth combined makes the Walmart fortune the richest on the planet, yet a huge percentage of their workers rely on foodstamps. Walmart is representative of the absolute worst of capitalism, not because libs are haters but because of the policies Walmart has embraced and the regressive laws they aggressively lobby for.
I remember your early to late winter videos and how lack of snow was concerning you. Praying for additional rain for your farm. I, too, can not wait to see everything to start to grow. It will be fun to see your new cattle out in the pasture. You are so good to your animals. Oh, the toys are so fun. You know Morgan, how wonderful wouldn't it be if we could all just go back to living simply. Farming is absolutely backbreaking, but it really would really help the earth and the family. Have a look at visiting the Outer Hebrides when you're in Scotland. The beaches, the water clarity, the clear night skies and of course the Aurora Borealis. It's a truly stunning place.

Scotland suggestions (from a resident): the Isle of Skye is magic. Can be busy with tourists in season though.. But stunning! If you go, the coffee at Birch in Portree is stellar. The Outer Hebrides are amazing but are currently experiencing issues with the ferries so could be tricky logistically. The Glencoe area is easy to get to, although you might get more space if going to the mountains further north. The Cairngorms area is really good for accessible outdoor activity. It's also good for Speyside whisky distillery visits. Apparently the new Macallan distillery is remarkable!
I also love the Black Isle, which is east of Inverness. It's farming country with a rugged coast and a spectacular dolphin spotting opportunity at Fortrose/Rosemarkie. Near there we stayed at Black Isle Yurts which is on a working farm that has highland cattle, great experience (but it was in summer). Linked to this area: check out the podcast Farmerama in general, and the four-episode arc Landed from summer 2021 in particular: the guy behind that mini series farms near the Black Isle and his podcast episodes are about the links between family farming, the Highlands, colonialism and the future of farming. Lots of food for thought, and local history, as you prep for your trip! Noting it's on Spotify, so probably on most podcasting platforms. I know that the North Coast 500 route is popular with tourists but have also heard it can be overly busy so if that one if on your mind definitely do your research before deciding.
Finally, as an Edinburgh resident - Edinburgh IS a one of a kind city in the world, and even if you just spend a day here I think it's worth it. However, Edinburgh could keep you busy for many days as well... Yes, I'm biased. But it's amazing.

For your holiday, if you are at all interested in history, go visit a Broch. They are, unique to Scotland, Iron Age stone towers, the best preserved one is "Mousa" on the Island of Shetland but there are several through out the highlands. Also note the short doors on older farm buildings....built just tall enough for highland cattle to pass through but we humans have to duck down.

Definitely not saying Walmart is perfect- I have issues with some things that they do. But they are not "evil incarnate" as someone prior posted. I have definitely seen worse places to work and shop. In the end you are responsible for your own decisions and all you can do is do what's best for you and yours. You're doing a fantastic job, keep it up.

Hey, if your coming to Scotland there is lots of good places to visit. I would personally recommend loch Ness, especially going on a boat trip, one of the highlights of Scotland. One of the best things you could do is it visit some islands e.g. the Hebrides. They are very good journeys overall, with lovely scenery, untouched natural beauty and lovely people. As for cities I would recommend Glasgow or Edinburgh or Dundee if you want to visit a small city. I would also recommend taking a train ride on the west coast main line or far north line. Also don't miss the chance to go on a scenic bus journey e.g the x7 (Dundee to Aberdeen) 201 (Aberdeen to braemar) 10 (Aberdeen to Inverness).

Please don't give them greenies. There have been problems with dogs choking on them due to their size and shape.
They are also made with starch and gluten, meaning that when they are chewed on, they break down into sugars. This essentially means the teeth get coated in bacteria-growing sugar once the dogs are done chewing them. Really not a good treat, and definitely not good for the teeth.

Great to hear that you are going to visit Scotland. I recommend a trip through Glencoe, then put to the islands off the West coast. The Outer Hebrides. Start at the South by ferry to Barra, then drive north via other short passage ferries and causeways, to the North of Lewis. Get the ferry from Stornoway to the mainland, to the town of Ullapool. Then if you have time go clockwise around the North of the mainland to Inverness.
It is a small country but there are no Motorways (Highways) beyond the middle area at the city of Perth, so every trip is done on slower speed roads. Distances need to be worked out on an average of 40 mph on these sections.
