I am totally happy with my Sense. I researched information on it before I purchased and it is what I expected. I have never owned an Apple watch, so I can't compare it with that. I got this watch for the health features more so than for the GPS, MUSIC etc. The health features work great in my opinion. I do know Apple watch does not have these health features. The stress feature really helps if you use it. In my opinion , it is the perfect upgrade for me from the Verse 2. I do not have any problem with syncing my watch. I have an Apple phone. So, I guess it depends what features are most important to the individual in determining which watch to purchase. Sense is more of a Health watch..Apple is not. Health meaning focusing on several health aspects other than exercise. I truly recommend the Sense if Health features are important to you and you like to keep track of this.
There's no fall detection though..

Mine works great and does exactly what it is supposed to do. Only paid 210.00 for mine and I can use it as a phone like the apple watch. Worth every penny I paid

I got the sense for my birthday and really like it so far. I am hoping for firmware updates to help with some of the interface issues. As far as the Apple Watch being worth it, I disagree. Definitely not the case for me, anyway. The one I want is double the price and the sleep analytics are subpar, at best. Sleep tracking is one of the most important things on my priority list. I already had a premium subscription for that reason. The lack of music storage was a huge mistake on Fitbit’s part though, I will totally agree. Not sure what the heck they were thinking with that maneuver.

@@aaabbb-py5xd I had the ionic. The way they would transfer music to the watch was just terrible. I basically never used it because it was such a pain to put music on it.
That's not to say they should have removed it. They should have improved it. Like, allowing you to use the included dock to plug it into a PC and transfer music over USB would have been good.
@@joemann7971 You said you don't know why they kept music storage off the watch, but I thought it was rather obvious that they're doing it for financial gain now or some time down the line, not that there's anything wrong with the profit motive in and of itself
@@aaabbb-py5xd that's very possible or they just say music storage as low priority. Personally, even back when I had my ionic, I just ended up buying a cheap MP3 player. Its super small, super light. It doesn't kill my watches battery and I can still go places without my phone. It also stores 100x more music since since I can easily drop 400 GB SD card onto it, and I can transfer music onto it ten times faster.
@@aaabbb-py5xd I'm not saying that's what everyone should do. I'm just saying the music transfer was so annoying to use I just decided to get a small mp3 instead of dealing with the watch.
If you want a smartphone on your wrist, buy an Apple watch. If you want a fitness tracker that also has some smart features, buy a Fitbit.
For me personally, I had a Samsung galaxy watch 3, and while it had the higher build quality and more features, the fitness apps were terrible and badly integrated. I ended up having about 3 apps on my phone for what the Fitbit app does all in one. I have not tried the Apple watch but it seems better than Samsung in that area but also lags behind Fitbit in basic features like sleep monitoring.

I dissagree... Why not use your phone instead of the Apple watch? The Apple watch is a watch trying to replace a phone you have in your pocket... its low battery and insane price made me return mines... I enjoy the long battery life of the Fitbit... it means I can use it as a watch... low maintnance, good accessory.
I never listen to music while exercising, never have a problem with it disconnecting from my phone. I love my Fitbit sense.
I have a Fitbit Sense and the face came off in August 2021, 10 months later the replacement did the same thing. I never get it wet, I do sleep with it on for sleep tracking and such. Fitbit said they will give me 35% off on a third watch, will not replace it. I have owned many watches from this company but I will never own another one again!! Starting my search for a new fitness tracker!
I agree with all of your points. The watch face selection overall is terrible and paying a fee is just not going to happen, not to mention the standard faces Fitbit offers are nothing to write home about, zero thought was put into them.
Fitbit works on both iOS and Android vs just iOS with Apple Watch. Battery life is not that great either on Apple Watch . That’s just my opinion too. Thank you for the review

You are literally spot on with every pro and con! The OS is soo laggy and the opposite of the fluid Apple Watch…but the health tracking features of the Fitbit (ESPECIALLY SLEEP TRACKING) and much better battery mean that I personally think the Fitbit beats the Apple Watch.

Apple watch with the Fitbit sense battery would be the perfect watch. Apple watch doesn't even last a day, which negates the sleep monitoring.
I adore mine. I have not had syncing issues with mine, so I am not sure about that. As far as music storage on watch itself, it isn't a big deal to me. I think people are honestly too critical with that argument. I prefer to store music on my phone anyway(lot more space for more tracks) The only thing music related that I wish they had done is allow me to control my phone's music from my wrist. I don't do spotify, so that wouldn't help me. The battery life is the best of any smartwatch I've ever owned. As far as apple watch goes...Yeah right! You have to pay big to get into that ecosystem and getting an apple watch is only worth it if you already have an iphone. If you don't have an iphone, you are literally paying thousands just to have the privilege to buy their branding. Apple has way better competition now so they are no longer as great as they used to be and they refuse to adapt and step up. That's why I won't buy their products. You laugh at Fitbit for upselling you but don't mention Apple doing the exact same thing? That's laughable. Apple is the king of upsell :D
I bought a charge 4 way better then a Apple Watch obviously not as smart but that’s because it’s not a smart watch I wanted a fitness tracker or else I would have got the versa 3 or Fitbit sense also it’s not that I can’t afford a Apple Watch I have the series 2 and the battery life is horrible so I don’t want to upgrade to like a SE or series 6 to just get a little more then a day of battery life if lucky😂😂 but even so I must admit if you want a smart watch and have a iPhone it literally can’t get better then a Apple Watch anything that’s apple just clicks together they make it so easy and that’s why they get away with the prices
Ultimately Fitbit is primarily a fitness tracker, not a smartwatch, I bought it for that reason. The only thing I do not like is buying experience for Fitbit third-party apps like watch faces, it is horrible, they would benefit from a platform product similar to Apple shop. The idea of going to every company outside of Fitbit to pay them is ridiculous and too time-consuming.

@@ErikMoody they said they don’t listen to Spotify; the watch doesn’t control the play/pause for music, just Spotify, and only if it’s downloaded on the watch. They weren’t saying the watch doesn’t do this; it just doesn’t do it universally with all music sources (I hope that makes sense, I don’t know if I articulated that well lol)
I don't listen to music when I run. Not to be able to hear the traffic and events around you is just asking for an accident. Though I did like your review, very thorough and well made. Keep up the good work.

I have had 3 different Fitbits over the past 5 years. Let me state the facts that none of the devices last more than a year or so. I also had to have each one replace during the warranty period My last one was the ionic which was a 300 watch. I got 16 months out of after having it replace at 3 months. Never again. Save your money and save yourself a headache. Trust me.

No. Their products suck. I still have ALL THE NON WORKING ones and not one is broken on a physical level. I keep them to prove that. It a expensive reminder to myself WHY I don't buy Fitbit or will ever recommend after being with them for close to 6 years so miss me on that bull-sh*t.......the last 300 Ionic was my last.🤨 So just don't even try .
The problem with Fitbit dropping sync with the iPhone is so annoying. I have a first gen Versa, and I thought my Fitbit was just getting old. Apparently, this is an ongoing issue.
I don’t know of the button , I have sense , and the button works very wel , I like that I can set a short cut, with one push , and two push .

Hi, I am not saying its a bad product, I even said at the end 'its an amazing piece of tech' - Its just very expensive and In my opinion its just not worth the price.

The sense has , eda sensor , ecg , temperature, and also other that a garmin or polar has , even wath Samsung has , it has more to Ofer than these other , the only one that is worth the money, and you have also said, it’s Apple Watch , but as a overall health tracker , in comparison to these other watches , it’s the money worth.
Hey guys, just adding my two cents, for those who are like me waking up in the middle of the night and or taking naps through out the day, the galaxy watches and bands do record naps also the HUAWEI lines . I just owned the charge 5 and I do like the sleep tracker but they’re gps sucks big time
Regarding paying for Watch faces, you can't really count that as a negative toward Fitbit, that's the 3rd party designers charging money (which they do deserve for pouring hundreds of hours into designing a face) which is the same on every single other watch platform (Samsung Tizen, Wear OS, Apple, Facer, WatchMaker, etc.)
The watch faces suck. And yes, it's huge con.

I’m not talking about the ones included on the watch, I’m saying every platform allows developers to charge for watch faces so saying there’s paid watch faces isn’t a con, that has nothing to do with the quality of the watch faces included on the device and there’s plenty of both great and terrible watch faces for sale on every platform, not just Fitbit.

The charger has a fatal flaw-there are four small pins on the charger that contact the watch.
Inevitably, one gets depressed into the body of the charger.
Once that happens, the charger will no loinger function.
Avoid this watch, or be very careful when pressing the watch and charger together.
I seem to go through a charger in about a month or two, then one of the pins drops and can't be repaired. An OEM charger goes for about $15 and 3rd party ones are unreliable). I recently got a Garmin Venu Sq. and am comparing it to the Sense. I don't use the music features in either watch. So far, both track my sleep well as well as other health stats. I feel the Garmin is a better-made device and has a solid charger (other users at where I work have had their chargers several years), and you don't have to pay a yearly fee to access the most valuable stats.
One of the best genuinereview given by anyone for Fitbit..I feel the same issues that you mentioned. I feel like buying amazfit Gtr 2. Its bad experience
I appreciate your honest comparison. I really needed this and you helped me make up my mind and not get future fit bits because I do agree with a lot of what you said. It’s not user friendly and the price is way too expensive compared to Apple.

The lagginess combined with he fitbit premium were for me the reasons to get the galaxy watch 3 instead of the fitbit sense
FYI...the Fitbit Sense can make you pace if you have a pacemaker! The magnet in the watch itself is strong enough to pick up a drill bit therefore can make one pace if your within 4 inches or less of your pacemaker. Can't control how close I place it while sleeping. :-( I was super bummed as there is no warning in regards to having a medical device and I really liked the watches capabilities.
The charge series has a clamp type charger instead of the magnetic one, at least up to the Charge 4. You'll sacrifice the mic and some of the smart apps though. Might be worth it if you want the tracking features though.
Correction: Charge 4 and below used a clamp type charger. The new Charge 5 uses a magnetic one just like the Sense. If you can find a Charge 4 still in box or maybe one of their other trackers use a clamp style charger would work better for you.
I only get about 2 days battery life on mine. I lose about 20% overnight. I wish there was a way to get better battery life without disabling features, because obviously you buy a watch to use these features
i was close to buying it but honestly , but honestly i would rather buy one of their older models, personally i dont need all these novelty features i just need a fitness tracker but i see what they are trying to do here..
The versa 3 is identical minus the ecg and eda sensors.

I really like this watch and would buy it right away but my dealbreaker is that I can’t download music on spotify to listen on my runs offline without taking my phone 🙄 I don’t wanna run carrying 2 things 😅
Don't categorically dismiss Pandora. There ARE those of us who DO use it. Never underestimate the power of the Company who did the ground-breaking research. I get all the music I wish to hear from Pandora. Other than that I appreciated your review, so thanks.
I don't undervalue the app, I'm sure they're doing amazing work. My point was just to demonstrate differences between the apps user base numbers

Great review. I was thinking to buy this watch. But now dropped it as downloaded music on watch is must have feature for me. I don't want to carry my phone while running/exercise.
I really love my Fitbit Sense. I have had two Sense watches. However, at having each of them for over a year, the face comes up and does not stick to the watch. The watch works, but the face is hanging on at the corner. Since this has happened on two different watches, I am not sure if I want another one. Fitbit may need to use better adhesive for the face.
The face on my Versa 2 popped up, saw a video about using gorilla glue to fix it. Thinking about Sense, but if it has the same problem, no Thanks.
*sigh* Wanted an objective review but you can always tell someone is an Apple fan boy is when their number 1 critique is that it's "not as innovative as the Apple Watch" when it literally has more features than the Apple watch. The Apple watch might be more fluid but is unable to give you the amount of information about your own health than the Fitbit can.

My Fitbit Blaze is still working 100% (almost 5 years now), and I use it daily for all functions. I just ordered the Sense last night. It’s arriving today woohoo 🥳.

I had been with Fitbit for 6 years....Six years with 3 different types of watches And ever single one had to be replaced my charger 2 the second one they replace is the only working one...i have it to my nana.so I think I'm being VERY VERY fair in my view. It wasn't your 300 dollars lost. So yeah our views may be different by many many miles. I be a straight fool to give fitbit anymore of my hard earn money.🤷🏽♀️

Got the Sense and sent it back. No music downloads like my Ionic. It also it felt warm on my wrist and was much heavier than my Ionic.so I replaced it with a tracker Charge 5. Actually I like the Charge 5 better because the Sense looks to much like an I watch and it does just about as many functions as the Sense. JMHO but I miss my Ionic Adidas! I wish they never had the recall.
Coming from having the Fitbit Charge 3, its a major upgrade. I am already used to the haptic feedback button and I do not have integrated gps nor music. Just a bummer that I cannot put my own music onto the device which sucks. But I plan on getting this or the Fitbit Versa 3 for Black Friday as an early Christmas present to myself.

I've had it for literally 1 day and I'm returning it for all the reasons you said. Disconnects on my s21 ultra all the time and paying a subscription for something every other watch does for free? Nope.

Keep on looking at Mercari. I got lucky and got it for $91 about a month ago. It had a small crack but everything works perfectly.

I didn't get this because of no offline storage options for Spotify. I don't want to take my phone with me while I run or exercise. That's why I went with the Garmin Vivoactive 4.

The pins on the back of the magnet, one pin broke. getting one under warranty will take 7-10 days to receive. Buy that time watch will be dead. :(
This problem has been going on since they developed this form of charging. They don't seem interested in correcting it. After going through 5 charging cords since I bought it March of this year, I'm checking out Garmin to replace the Sense.
I have a Sense and I am constantly having issues with the sleep mode it will do what it's supposed to for a day or two then nothing for a day or two. Then it won't break down your sleep into the categories or won't start sleep at the proper time.
I really miss my ionic! No music storage on sense. If I only knew...
I listen to Pandora and so does everyone I know, family friends, everyone. Works great on the Sense. Spotify? What is that? For people that watch TikTok, I guess. Other than that, I hate the button and the salesiness of the watch as well. Overall it's great and the price has come way down since your review.
Pandora is great! Helps me discover new music I wouldn’t find otherwise. The playlists are good too, love it!

This watch is amazing for health reasons, it tells me every time I am in Afib. I also love the sleep tracking and the long battery life.

One difference between Fitbit Sence and Apple Watch, is that Apple Watch need to be charged every day, but Fitbit mostly once a week. Besides, you don't need a iPhone either.
This is why I chose it over iwatch
I returned my Galaxy Watch 3 for that reason. Wouldn't last 24 hours with just basic watch only use.
That’s why I chose the Fitbit Sense.. Better battery life.
i still have my original versa, the nice thing about fitbit is battery life is a priority for pretty much all of their devices, the main reason i dont have an apple watch is that the battery sucks, garmin, fossil, are almost as bad,
I think it is wrongly named. It should be Nonsense. It keeps finding floors that I haven't been up. It is showing 18 it should be 10. Unless it is now doing an accumulation of parts of a floor but even then it is being very creative. I was hoping it would be Ionic with the bugs knocked out. Instead they have come up with a whole heap of new ones.
What's the bet Apple makes sure there's sync issues with every non Apple watch?
One more con not mentioned here: Spo2 feature is not on demand, rather it measures only during sleep
Ive been on the fence of keeping my Apple Watch series 7 I just purchased, and the return window is coming soon. I have considered the Fitbit sense because you can find it for around $180 on ebay or mercari brand new in box, and the Apple watch was $360 USD not including tax- and I dont know I feel like its way too much smart watch when I can just use my phone for many of the capabilities. I really just want a good tracker, something that plays music and I can leave my phone in my bag and use the watch instead with bluetooth, respond to messages, etc. But now I am seeing that for the price, I might aswell just keep my Apple watch. Atleast it has a good resell value if I do decide to get rid of it

I don't listen to music when running because it can be disorienting and causes me to not pay attention to my surrounding. I also use Deezer and Tidal

I can't agree more on your dislike point (4)!!! If I am paying a premium price for a watch, I would expect those feature are FOC. If it goes subscription model, then the watch should be sold much cheaper, isn't it? I have been using my Fitbit Ionic for almost 4 years, now I am thinking to switch to Apple Watch, really sick and tired of this 'salsy' tactic of Fitbit.
I wish I had seen this before buying a few months ago. (I watched loads of reviews but sadly yours didn't pop up.) I am now into fourth day with no syncing having tried everything recommended. So frustrating!!

Why do people keep comparing a fitness watch to a smart watch. People! fitbit and the Apple Watch are two different things stop comparing them. There are things the fitbit is dedicated for that the smart watch doesn’t have EX. a longer battery life, why? because if you are tracking your health with consistent accuracy you need a device thats going to run longer to give you consistent analytics, the apple watch only last 16-19hrs because it has other dedications outside of the health realm. Stop comparing them please.
Smart watches have features like built in mics for calls or voice assistants, NFC payments, music control, Bluetooth to connect with external speakers, an app store, and GPS tracking, all of which the Sense has. I would say the Sense was Fitbits attempt to break out of just being a fitness tracker and more of a smart watch, so I think it's totally fair to compare it to the apple watch. Also if we were to entertain the idea that the Sense is just a fitness tracker, then it's price is an even bigger problem.
@@JATCHOYT I can agree with that to some extent, the price is ridiculous yes, especially compared to other fitness watches, but if you really dive into a lot of the features and benefits it's pretty impressive compared to what other brands offer, especially having that data so accessible. They should keep the analytics simple and cut back on the premium features, I think that is a big turn off, consumers already pay $300+ for this watch then have to deal with a limited 6 months premium then no more analytics - unless you pay of course -. And obviously, it is a marketing strategy to add more smartwatch feature to the fitness band, if it's going to be on your hand for hours or days I think its only right to add a talk/call feature, app store to purchase fitness-related apps, etc, I don’t think it was them necessarily breaking into the smartwatch territory, they just wanted to offer their consumers more, especially for that $300 mark up price! They are just saying, Hey we will always be a dedicated fitness tracker BUT, we also want this device to fit into your everyday lifestyle
This watch is now selling for about $199 According to what I read, it seems it's going to be discontinued and replaced by the Pixel watch. Google owns fit bit. This seems about right, I bought a Garmin watch from Sam's club years ago. It died on me and Garmin set me a new one. At the time the Garmin watch was at a close out price of $185. We will see how well Goggle supports a discontinued product. So far so good with mine. the sleep tracking works, I didn't need the snoring thing because I already know... I snore lightly (ask the wife, she will tell you). As for the watch faces , hey when you buy an analog watch it only has one face, the one the manufacturer put on it. there are enough free faces available.
Reliability seems to be a major issue. Won't sync, won't charge, tech support verified its dead and could not be fixed.

For the price, the lack of blood pressure monitoring is a huge miss.
An office full of Fitbit executives sat and discussed the pros and cons of allowing us to download our own music onto our own watches. They decided to prevent us from doing it. They made that decision for commercial reasons, not technical reasons. And that is why tens of thousands of these watches (including mine) will be returned on December 27th! do you know how to turn off fitbit sense after factory reset? all the time there is a screen where the download fitbit application is displayed. I do not know how to turn off the watch in this moment

I have never had a problem with my sense disconnecting from my phone. I use a Pixel 5 , Pixel 6 and LG V60 and no connection problems at all. Wonder why you're having issues?

So what would you suggest? I need GPS, ability to load my own music, oxygen and heart sensor, etc etc, byt must be android as I don't own an iphone :)
Great Video Ur right it’s over priced & not as good quality as apple I had a versa & just after warranty it fell apart then bought a sense it stopped working & was replaced under warranty when it stops working I will probably get a charge 5 as I need to monitor my heart & there app is great 😎

OK, it's your conclusing but I bet it is not representative. Why compare to a watch that is only avaiable in the Apple environment? If we would start with that, the Apple watch is the worst of all. They say it's because we car about our customers, I say it's because they are afraid of different platforms.

Returned my Galaxy Watch 3 simply for horrible battery drain. Loved the watch but was useless for a tracker as I had to charge it every night. Just picked up the Sense today. I don't listen to much music so not an issue for me but I understand the concern. Not a fan of the haptic button but thinking that will just take some time to get used to, not a long term issue for me. The lack of good looking watch faces is mind boggling. They all look like they were done in the 90's at the first start of internet. Am I missing something that they cannot build quality looking faces?? Appreciate the video- thanks!
My watch sucks can get no help bought watch at BEST BUY.they are useless ,you have to pay to get help.do not support a business that you pay good money for a product and pay ro find how to get help.
