Really like having a look at your finds. The beige boxes you find are gold, but the others are good too. Finding a Voodoo 3 is simply outstanding. Your teaching electronics videos are really good but these flea market finds are just brilliant and good fun. I wish we had flea market sales, but then again perhaps not. I would keep the finds! 😁😁
So far I have a voodoo 2 12Mb, A Voodoo 4 4500 AGP and now a Voodoo 3 all from the car boot sale 🙂 They have all been 'found' on my videos
Fun times. The problem with the TV capture cards is that there are no more stations they can pick up. You'd be capturing static-at least in this part of the world. Maybe you can find a place they still use this old technology, or a collector who will pay a high price to complete a collection of TV capture cards. Do you believe in miracles? 😅
one use is to use it to convert VHS to mpeg (for example archiving old home videos etc), but the TV card needs to have a video input. A dedicated analog TV-only card is really just junk now.
Heya, yes it is fun to see what you'll find inside these old pc and if something is not working see if you can repair it even if it is for a learning purpose only but if it is wort something and youy can sell it. you have a bissness to run too
amazed that DVD-drives still have value ..... have box of them, at least 10....$50 if your interested.
Nice score on the Voodoo 3 Richard! 😃 I've found 2 myself in IT ewaste job lots, one I've kept in my personal collection and one I sold for £120.
I also have a Voodoo 2 which is from the derelict Cranebank British Airways training centre at Heathrow which was probably once used to train the pilots in flight simulators that fly us around today which I find pretty cool! 😃
The Creative Live Drive and slot load Pioneer DVD drive are also cool finds of which I've a couple of in my machines/collection. Worth £30-50.
Finally, those are some great motherboards, probably bought by enthusiasts at the time and I'm sure will hold some value today!
No the network cards aren't trash!
There were some relay that could be useful in the future!
The DVD drive is a Pioneer 116. Not particularly special but it’s a nice good quality drive. It was on your eBay page at £54
And I didn't spot it
Often those switches on the front were for turbo mode. Some were even marked turbo.
Nice one with the voodoo card!
Thars a great wee market 😊
I think the reason for the smaller bios chip in a larger socket is simply because the board designer didn't know what size chip was going to be needed.
From experience I know what it is like when the board design doesn't allow for a big enough chip.
you have all the right parts for a nice voodoo 3 pc. P3 at 1 Ghz, live card. The AGP variant of V3 is something around $150 usd.
Always love these videos, such random finds sometimes.
A bit off topic, was it Gran Canaria you live? Wife looking at it for holidays and I said I may know of a top man on RUclips who lives there haha, was after some recommendations if you have five.
Yes I live and work in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria. I also have a RUclips channel called Gran Canaria Uncovered filming along with my wife Julie and Detlef, you may like it 😉 Here a couple of our most recent videos to show the sort of thing we do

@@LearnElectronicsRepairNice one! I'll check it out.
It looks like a large tower like the full size when I was in college.
18:26 Dude I can see that Voodoo3 3000 AGP from a mile away!
exactly!
@@margelatu24Yeah I didn't see it straight away but I'm no expert on them. I'm rather good at finding this sort of stuff though 😋
@@LearnElectronicsRepair This specific model is a very good version too and it packs quite a punch in performance. I have one myself too :)
Nice
FAST make (or made) video editing software back in the 1990s, so that large TV card (Movie Machine II) was possibly used with their editing software.
Yeah I can't imagine it is worth anything today due to no software being available anymore. Plus the stuff is probably a dinosaur anyways. Still, it does make me wonder what it could do. Back when it could do anything at all.
Score👍👍👍👍😊😊😊😊
Interesting couple of PCs. I wonder what the person with all that video gear in that last one was up to. I would have to poke around in the system some to try and find out.
My thoughts too, I was looking at what sort of software was installed, stuff like that.
@@andymouse that desktop was icon city. I couldn't make heads or tails of it. I don't know why they bothered with background wallpaper at all. It's not like you could make it out behind all that junk. Microsoft Windows setting computing back by decades. You can't even put icons on the desktop of the Window Manager I run. That's the way I like it too. But there are Managers and Environments that do support desktop icons if they're your thing.
MS probably stands for matsonic
Nah...Marks and Spencer.
when you want to make a retro pc you can't go wrong with any of the 3dfx voodoo cards !!! 3dfx is now nvidia
Nvidia bought 3dfx. Probably for a ball of thread and two bottle caps. Because that's all the company was worth at the end.
@@1pcfred following google in 2001. Nvidia paid $70 million in cash for nearly bankrupt 3dfx
Ever run the parts through an ultrasonic to tidy them up?
Not ultrasonic but I have put boards in the sink and washed them with soap and water then put out in the sun to dry for several hours. I do the same thing with some really nasty arcade boards too. If you look you will see some people washing boards in a dishwasher, same result.
I don't have one so it's soap and water in the sink for me
oh - i said bingo when u turned it around to show the 3dfx - great find - are u going to keep it?
You'd think he would it being the only missing piece of his collection. I know if it was me I would. All the Voodoo!
Probably for now
The video card is indeed a Voodoo 3. Most probably Voodoo 3 3000. I've got one just like that. Nice haul of retro parts. Sometimes people don't realise what they're selling could have a greater value if only they'd put some effort into identifying what they're actually selling.
It is geforce 2 mx 400
@@dhdeamele9826Wrong. The second card was definitely a Voodoo 3 3000 16MB.
Yes, it's a Voodoo 3 3000 i froze the screen when he started the PC and that's what it said it was.I have one of these also and quite a bit of other retro hardware like this from back in the day.
Ah ok i said first one
@@JonnyMac351Thanks for the info, I wasn't certain it was a 3000
I wouldn't pay 20 quid for a dvd drive its only worth a couple of quid
You're probably not trying to make the past PC of your dreams either, are you? I don't do the retro thing myself but I understand where they're coming from.
@@1pcfredIf someone has retro dreams about a DVD drive they have bigger issues that only a doctor can fix ;-)
@@g4z-kb7ct a DVD drive is appropriate if someone is assembling a max build. Which would be the highest performance available in a given OS version. Like say if someone was building a max Win 98 PC. That could have had a DVD drive in it.

You need to go to an doctor and have your empty head checked
