- It will be a year ago tomorrow that my friend and mentor Mark Knight passed away while flying his Dragonfly aircraft. All this last year I have wanted to pull together the snippets of video I have and could find from others that would help folks to remember Mark's voice, his mannerisms, his love of friends and of flight, and of Marla. The result falls far short of telling who he was and is, but hopefully it will help to stir memories from time to time through the years for those who miss him still. Best wishes to Marla and to Mark's extended family. We miss you buddy.
You guys had a lot of fun. Is it unrespectfull if I ask what was the cause of his accident ? He seems to young to have a physical problem and to old to have no experience.
Hi Dirk, Mark was healthy and no mechanical failures were apparent. He had many many hours in the aircraft and was a methodical and conscientious pilot. Bottom line is we are not sure what caused the accident. All is speculation beyond that.
Tearing up watching this. Only spent three days with him myself: learning to aero-tow. Planned to go back to Sonora Wings... Cried for over a week when I learned of his accident. He was/is a great spirit and will miss him dearly. Thank you Greg, for putting this together.
You are welcome Ann. It's still tough to deal with him being gone. A good friend and I wonderful person to many.
Good job.
Chosen Won Thanks.
Wow! Thanks for all your videos Greg. I sure miss our old group. I loved seeing Mark again. I really miss him.
Hey thanks for the reply here Dan. We sure had a lot fun. Great to hear from you. All the best to you and your family.
Nice tribute. May no one ever have reason to pay tribute my way.
We are in the same page as usual JD. Thanks for the reply. Hope to hook up with you this season.
Thank you Greg, very nice tribute. I miss him too.
Thanks Mark, you and others spent much more time with him that I was privileged to. Hopefully this short compilation will help many to remember him a little more clearly. Good to hear from. All the best to you, Greg
A beautiful tribute, an enormous loss of a great pilot that was passionate about the sport and those involved.
Yes , he was special. It's hard to believe is has been two years today. Seems it was just a few weeks ago that he was towing us up. A great loss.
Thanks so much for that Greg.
You bet Steve. Mark thought very highly of you, but I am sure you already knew that. I think he would tell you thank you for the friendship.
