Great list. I haven't heard of Long Shadows, but I'm eager to check that one out. One of my personal favorite Two-Face stories is Nightwing: The Great Leap, where (spoilers) Harvey Dent gets in contact with Nightwing because a former colleague in the DA's office is currently has a contract put on their head, but lo and behold, the person who put the hit out on the DA was Two-Face himself. The climax of the story gets a little ridiculous, but there's a great moment at the end when Nightwing is talking to Two-Face in his cell, and tells him that even though Batman still sees the lost Harvey Dent in there, he only sees him as being Two-Face. Some people are disappoint that Christopher Nolan killed off Two-Face in the Dark Knight, but I think it was the right move because in the realistic tone those movies were going for, there isn't a whole lot they could have done with the character in the sequel except have him fail an attempt to reform himself (which would have made the movie like the same thing as the Dark Knight).
Long Shadows is underrated. There's a subplot with Penguin and the new Black Mask in it that leads into the next arc, and then it does end on a cliffhanger which was never resolved, BUT all the Two-Face parts in it are pure gold. Yeah the Great Leap is also really good, I'm thinking about doing a review of it at some point. It's got a really unique take on Harvey's split personality, that one is not aware of the other's actions. And Two-Face vs Grayson stories are always interesting due to their history. While Bruce sees Dent as a lost friend who needs to be saved Dick just sees him as a monster who nearly killed him in his early Robin days..
@@dragongust3286 Not true. Calander man plays a small role in it. Great list. My personal favorite is the one from the animated series. It's basicly the same as your #1 but it adds by showing the guilt/grief Batman feels for not saving his friend. Pure awesome story telling.
Great video! Two-Face has always gone under my Rogue radar, but now I really want to add Crime and Punishment and Eye of the Beholder to my read list. The only Two-Face centric stories I've read besides The Long Halloween are A Lonely Place of Dying and Two of a Kind from Mad Love and Other Stories. In the former I really enjoyed the mutual obsession between Harvey and Batman and how they kept near-missing each other. As for the latter, well, I love anything connected to the DCAU and attempted redemption arcs.
Good stories both of them. I usually don't care too much for stories where they play up Harvey's "obsession with the number 2", as it feels outdated and very silver-agey, but Lonely Place of Dying does it in a very different and entertaining way.
What a great list! I have to say that I absolutely loved the Long Shadows story, bought them a few years ago when it was published, to me it was a great way of showing Two-Face as the villain he is, as you said resourceful, charismatic and an absolute badass!

What about Half a Life from Gotham Central. Which centered is around Montyoa. But Harvey's infatuation with her is the real story driver throughout. And the fact that Montyoa is a Lesbian makes everything more complex and disturbing as to why Two Face would be obsessed with her. Great read as well.

Another great Two-Face story is Two-Timer, which appears in the first 2 issues of Batman and Robin Adventures Volume 1. It starts with Two-Face having been going through rehabilitation in Arkham for some time, with the help of sessions with his fiance and Bruce Wayne. Things seem to be going really well for him, and his mental instability has been getting much better, allowing him to even make decisions without the use of his coin. However, all of this comes to the attention of the Joker, who's also currently held in Arkham. He implies to Harvey that Bruce is having an affair with his fiance, while paying Arkham to keep Harvey in rehab. Two-Face is healthy enough at the time to deny this, but still loses his temper at Joker implying such things about the 2 people who still care about him. The Joker then decides to contact Harley Quinn outside of the Asylum, and gets her to snap a photo of Bruce and Harvey's fiance together at a gala Bruce is holding. She gives a photo of the 2 to a newspaper editor, and tells them that the two have hooked up. This gets published, and Joker sneaks a copy of the article into Two-Face's cell, causing his mental stability to snap, and he then escapes. He then kidnaps his fiance and holds her at a secret location. Batman goes to Arkham to investigate why Harvey snapped, and the Joker tells him about everything he did to break Harvey. When Batman asks the Joker why he did it, he simply responds 'Because it was Tuesday.' Two Face then kidnaps Dick Grayson at his campus dorm, and holds him to ransom to get Bruce to give himself up. The story ends after some conflicts and fights between Two Face, but the events have resulted in Harvey's relationship with the only 2 people who still had any hope for him being destroyed.
I've just stumbled upon your channel and I love it!! I've always found Batman's rogues more interesting than Batman himself and you showcase this wonderfully!! Could you do a five best stories of Mad Hatter in the future?? Keep up the excellent work!
Overall, a great list. Long Shadows is an iffy choice for me because I didn't feel like it was uniquely Two-Face. More conflict in his choices and more explanation to his motives would've sold me better (still epic tho). Also, No Man's Land is great but I prefer the novelization as he has better motives and more interesting scenes with Renee Montoya (I'd like your opinion on their relationship as well but moving on) Hmmm I guess it's only fair I give my top 5 picks as well. This'll be a fun one and I hope you read/give insight when you can :P These are in no particular order by the way: 1. Eye of the Beholder. What else can I say? Wonderful childhood origin, wonderful explanation for the coin, wondeful depiction of both sides as simply antiheroes who go too far rather than evil monsters. The only major flaw is the lack of Gilda screentime, and no friendship with Bruce Wayne, but hey nothing's perfect! 2. The Beautiful Ugly. Okay, obscure one I know, but it's just great. One of the only stories that make use of Two-Face's potential as Batman's greatest political rival (a role I resent Jason Todd for stealing before it could really be explored). You almost can't call him the villain in this story, and I just love the way he acts as a leader giving power to the people to seek justice. He can't make his own choices due to his DID, but he still believes others deserve their chance at choosing. 3. The Secret Origin Special. I only learned about this one watching your Underrated Two-Face Stories video, and finally read About_Faces's livejournal run-through of it this week. Depicting Harvey as a mirror image and worthy foe to Batman, setting him up as being driven over the edge before his scarring for the first time, and showing Gilda's potential as a strong character and the only one who can really reach Harvey and force him to make a moral choice without the coin? Even Batman can't do that. Oh and how he crashes through, jams the bad guy's gun and is able to overpower him in the end is just epic. Two-Face can fight damnit, he just has to be motivated! There's just so much to love from this underrated gem of a tale. 4. Two-Face vs Cyborg. Harvey never gets to fight people outside the batfam so that alone makes this interesting. The way his dark side twists his mind is very interesting to see, and I love the idea that he has surveillance cameras covering the city. Finally, there's the fact that Two-Face ultimately forms a masterplan that leaves Cyborg, one of the smartest/most powerful Titans, helpless to his whim. Just amazing. And he's still very sympathetic at the end of the day, merely wanting to validate his existence as a criminal and almost proving himself to be right in the end. I'd love to see Cyborg and Two-Face have a spiritual sequel to this comic. 5. Crime and Punishment. Two-Face, the grand-scale villain who seeks justice by evening out the sides of good and evil, seeks revenge on his abusive father, and is ultimately stopped not just by Batman but also... by himself? Yeah, this one's another beauty of a story. Two-Face has so many badly written stories that completely ruin the image of the character, but when he's written right, he's damn excellent (proof that he's a better character than most think). This story's tragic use of a good man trapped in a monster who he can just barely hold back was absolutely great. I still love Harvey's "you didn't think it'd land good heads, did you?" as he prepares to end the menace of himself once and for all. That's my top 5, I hope you give your own thoughts on my list and general views on each story's treatment of him. My ranking of each changes constantly but these are definitely my 5 favorites. Looking forward to more videos Rogues (2Face or otherwise) and thank you anyone who actually read this far lol
I don't really have time to comment on each entry, but I did read it all and can only say great list. I agree with pretty much all of it. I will say though that while overall I prefer the NML book, there is one scene that is far superior in the comics, and that is the trial scene where Harvey cross examines Two-Face. And yeah, good old About_Faces; I used to visit his site all the time back in the day - that's where I originally learned of all of these Two-Face appearances.
@@mr.rogues4145 Yes, I do agree that the Trial scene with Harvey lawyering his dark side and the reveal that it's all in his head is much stronger in the comic. Thank you for taking the time to read through the whole thing, and I'm glad to know we agree so closely. Yeah I only found About_Faces this year, very sad that it's pretty much dead. It opened my eyes on the batman universe a lot, especially about Two-Face, who became my fav while playing Telltale. Luckily I found your channel soon after I finished off all About_Faces's reviews
Anyone else as hyped I am for the Top 22 Best Two-Face Stories video? Here’s a list of the Two-Face comics I’ve read: Eye Of The Beholder, The Long Halloween, Dark Victory, My Own Worst Enemy, Deface the Face, Knightfall, Prodigal, and one or two spinoff comics from TAS. So from your list, I’ve only read one, but I intend to read all the comics on this list as well as the ones on your remake, and the ones on your Overlooked Two-Face Stories video (jeez, I’ve got a lot of comics to read) at some point. Also, Mr. Rogues, if you read this, what’s your opinion on Two-Face: Year One? Thanks for the video Two Face is my favourite Batman villain. Would you recommend Two Face year one? for a beginner to learn about his origin as my friend wants to learn more about Two Face.
My favorite two-face stories are Dc super-stars # 14 titled secret origins of super villains the two-face story is great. Even though it is a calendar man issue, Batman# 312 is a cameo but a great one. And my first story with two-face another great one is brave and the bold#129,130. Batman teams with green arroow and the atom to fight the ream of two-face and the joker.
When somebody is not sure if their thoughts and behaviors were what they were born with or if they were caused by an influence in life, some call it "Nature VS Nurture." I regularly try to figure if my life was nature or nurture. I think I was genetically made a car enthusiast, but I think some life situations determined which cars I would be fascinated by.
Two-Face is so mentally split that he is practically to separate entities so here's an idea if marvel and DC ever do a crossover again maybe they could have a story where Two-Face comes across Thor's hammer. The idea being that if he picks it up he has to flip a coin and if the coin lands good heads that's the only time he could tap into its power but if the coin lands bad heads he loses the power.
This is a link to a pretty cool Two-Face Fan Film. There are other videos on the page as well like Immortan Joe Fan Film, A Dating Game with Cosplayers starring a bunch of well-known characters. It's a pretty dope page. ruclips.net/video/qNqg3YMf0LA/видео.html
I am surprised to not see one of the original comic stories set in the DCAU here. Two-Face's abusive gambling addicted father finally scores it on a game show. Two Face promises the host the prize money if he helps along with the scheme promising to steal the money. And Two-Face forces his father in a 50/50 gamble for his life. His father wins... but Two-Face then blows up the money, freaking out the host who is now a criminal for nothing. Two-Face tells his father that this is the sort of thing that ISN'T insured, he's a lawyer, it's his job to know these things.Two-Face's father gathers up the remains of the prize money, not a fortune, but still a very impressive amount... But then it's seized by the police as evidence. Two-Face is taken away the police triumphant. Another story dealt with Joker, on one of his psychotic whims ("Why does nobody visit me?"), plant the seeds that ultimate destroys Two-Face's relationship with his fiancee who was still visiting Harvey and still believed he could be cured! These weren't cartoon episodes adapted into comics, but ORIGINAL STORIES FOR the comics!
Actors who should really Play Two-Face are Frank Grillo , Liev Schreiber , Jon Bernthal , Jon Hamm , Armie Hammer , Matthew McConaughey and Michael Shannon !!!!!
I like Two-Face's story in Joker's Asylum. It has two endings and you get a real sense Joker is telling the story. It is appropriately my 2nd favorite Joker's Asylum story (Riddler is first) and my 2nd favorite Two-Face story. My favorite Two-Face story is "A Lonely Place of Dying" which also debuted Tim Drake.
The poblem is that after the original storie the guy dissapeared for 10 to 20 years thanks dc. Also there are four Two faces one is Harvey Kent and the other 3 are the some other attournies. Google 10 things dc wants you to forget about Two Face.
Gotham Rogues you think so? I think this is my favorite Two Face story, I really liked the twist in the origin, something similar to Earth One version and also Harvey's attempt to isolate Batman's both personalities. Art is awesome, Jae Lee is perfect for a story like this

No, I would recomend Batman annual 14.
Two-Face is so fucking awesome.
When somebody is not sure if their thoughts and behaviors were what they were born with or if they were caused by an influence in life, some call it "Nature VS Nurture."
I regularly try to figure if my life was nature or nurture. I think I was genetically made a car enthusiast, but I think some life situations determined which cars I would be fascinated by.
Long Halloween should have been on here
Two-Face is so mentally split that he is practically to separate entities so here's an idea if marvel and DC ever do a crossover again maybe they could have a story where Two-Face comes across Thor's hammer.

Lol even In your pic I knew already that two-face was your favorite dear rougue's
Should’ve been “Top 2 Two-Face Stories Part 1” and then “Top 2 Two-Face Stories Part 2”.
My favorite Two-Face story is "A Lonely Place of Dying" which also debuted Tim Drake.
need to chack you list out
What about the "Faces". Three part story?
1# Christopher Nolan, two face (Batman the dark knight)
2# the rest
3# Tim burtons two face
WHat about Jekyll and Hyde? That was a good story.
Actors WHO really must Play Two-Face are Liev Schreiber , Frank Grillo or Jon Bernthal , guys !!!!
why has there been a lack of two face in dc comics recently? I know he was barely in new 52 and barely in rebirth.
The poblem is that after the original storie the guy dissapeared for 10 to 20 years thanks dc.
Also there are four Two faces one is Harvey Kent and the other 3 are the some other attournies. Google 10 things dc wants you to forget about Two Face.
Or, watch my "Complete History of Two-Face" video ;)
No “Half An Evil”?
Ever read Batman doa # 1 from 1999
really Harvey am the dark side of u
Was the creepy music really necessary?
I love bad man
what comics at 0:39
The "Batman: Jekyll and Hyde" miniseries. It's not that great of a story imo but the art is awesome.
Gotham Rogues you think so? I think this is my favorite Two Face story, I really liked the twist in the origin, something similar to Earth One version and also Harvey's attempt to isolate Batman's both personalities. Art is awesome, Jae Lee is perfect for a story like this
what about FIREFLY
I don't know, we'll see.
