Hey RSR Fam! We just realized the sound was off after uploading. We will fix it and repost tomorrow
Tysvm you two, you did bangers today too.
Awesome I am going to wait to watch it tomorrow then. Don’t wanna spoil it.
Ironic on a day you reacted to three extraordinary songs!
Who's the guitarist? When you can beat him, then you can snob him. It would still make you jerks, but at least you'd be qualified. As it is, you so AREN'T.
The Rock Gods scrambled your audio, because you disrespected one of their High Priests.

One of Alex’s best solos it just had so much depth and soul
Don't forget to 👎 so they'll learn.
Extraordinary!
Jay and Amber you really need to check your audio it's messed up
The audio problem is when your listen to the Rush video.
Hey RSR Fam! We just realized the sound was off after uploading. We will fix it and repost tomorrow
Neil Peart, who wrote most of the RUSH lyrics, was always a deep thinker and was not afraid to voice his opinions. Alex and Geddy wrote most of the music to fit the lyrics. It's like they could hear what Neil was trying to say and they knew instinctively how to prep it and punch it to get your attention. It was always a symbiosis that ended in a symphony. I miss the "Professor", may he rest in peace.
Y’all should consider editing/re-uploading todays 3 videos as the sound is unlistenable.
What a bummer.
Glad it's not just me. Wonder if it's a copyright avoidance strategy?
80s Rush finally! Gotta listen to Red Sector A, masterfully written and performed
My favorite Rush song, no discussion about it!
I agree, the version off Grace under pressure concert is the best
There has to be some serious defect in your brain if you don't like that song!
Neil Peart's lyrics are just as incredible as his drumming!
More Rush please 🙏❤ So many great songs
The Big Money was the song that got me into Rush. Saw their music video on MTV, and was intrigued by their sound and their lyrics. Been one of my all-time favorite bands ever since. I consider myself blessed to have have had the opportunity to see them play live several times, and they were definitely one of the best live acts around.
You have a big problem with your sound it cut all the times just wanted to make you aware of the problem
Reupload. ❤
@@batman1169 i did
Yup, not the usual sound.
may have something to do with the intense heat wave idk???? it's swamp *ss everywhere! first time I've heard their audio not be so great......only thing I can think of. 🤷🏼♂️
@@zachdoughty1562 there’s a first time for everything 🤷♂️
Aside from the audio problems, I want to say that I don't understand how you two have reacted to so many great Rush songs but have NOT reacted to one of the band's greatest songs "2112" from the album of the same name. It's a long song, but it's SO entertaining and tells such a wild story that the time flies by. 2112 is a classic song from a classic album, the album that made the band famous. ❤☺✌
2112 was the first Rush album I bought. Never regretted starting listening to them.
Seeing their concerts just brought more pleasure in the listening.
@@richremaly8418 2112 was my first Rush album as well, and I saw them in concert, opening for Blue Oyster Cult, on their Agents of Fortune/2112 tour. It was a fantastic concert, and BOC's laser light show was terrific!
Sometimes pushing people around
Sometimes pulling out the rug
Sometimes pushing all the buttons
Sometimes pulling out the plug
so Effin’ cool🤘🖖✌️🎸🎸🥁🎤🎹
When you need a laugh, "Take Off" by Bob and Doug McKenzie w/ Geddy.
One of the things that make Rush a great band was the changes in the style and music over the years. The were never in a box. This was the first tour i saw them on when I was in high school.
Jay & Amber, you’ll love their "Circumstances " !!! Its from the 'Hemispheres' album, 1978.
In the early 80's, Rush became intrigued w/ the new keyboard technology... Geddy Lee in particular was fascinated w/ the music he could create without limitations of tuning and finding a sound - suddenly, anything u wanted to play came out of a keyboard in tune. That enabled him to write the albums 'Signals' in 1982 and subsequently 'Grace under pressure' in 1984... songs w/ layers of keyboards.
Neil Peart (drums) was also fascinated w/ electronic samples and beats that he would incorporate w/ the music... The only one who took issue was guitarist Alex Lifeson, who later complained that the keyboards were drowning out his guitars - Once Geddy had the music written, it was more difficult for Alex to find places where his guitar would fit in the overall sound... He was supportive and tried to enhance his own guitars w/ pedals and effects to blend in w/ Rush's new electronic sound... However, he was less than pleased w/ the 1985 album 'Power windows' - the first single being 'The big money'... Lee felt that it was the perfect balance between rock music and synthesizers... while Lifeson felt that the band overdid it.
Rush fans were also grumbling that their once-progressive rock band was now playing 80's synth pop music... but they stayed loyal and every Rush record in the 80's sold gold in the US (half million copies)
Things came to a head in 1987 w/ the album 'Hold your fire'... despite going gold, even Neil Peart felt that the band had gone too far musically to a light, jazzier left field w/ that record. In 1989, Alex Lifeson finally had enough and demanded one concept: No more keyboards!
Lee and Peart were like, "Okay, we can do that."
Lee admitted that he was sad to end that part of the band's experimentation because writing music on keyboards was a natural, easy thing for him... as opposed to writing on guitar or bass. Afterwards, Rush incorporated more guitars on the albums 'Presto' (1989) and 'Roll the bones' (1991)
That was from Power Window's from 1985. Another great 80's song from Rush is The Pass from the 1989 album, Presto. Show, Don't Tell and the song, Presto are also very good.
Did you catch Neil's rat tail, hanging over his right shoulder in every shot of him behind the drums? He went from having one of the grooviest Fu Manchu mustaches in all of rock and roll in the 70s, to one of the most rad new romantic/new wave hairdos in all of rock and roll in the 80s. That was a very narrow slice of time in his fashion history, LOL.
Y'all really, really need to react to "Show Don't Tell" from the album Presto, 1989. It's not only one of their very best riffs, it is also probably the funkiest they ever got. Truly, not too shabby for three Canadian white boys. And lyrics? It's all about how reality is going to be real no matter whether you like it or not. "You can twist perceptions, reality won't budge/You can raise objections, I won't be the judge (I the jury)."
Yes:)
"Show Don't Tell" has some great guitar work... straight out 11th chords in it. You know I'd tried to teach many good guitarist who gig those chord voicings and licks in the opening and chorus riff and they struggled with them, like dude you have to tie your fingers in knots and break them. Takes them a while but they eventually get them clean. ;-)
Signals and Power Windows are both master works of music, lyrics, melodies, and groove. They just kicked fire in the 80's for!!!
Blessings to you both🇨🇦
As a musician....These 3 men were all geniuses to me
RIP Neil💙
Power Windows is an awesome album. They were at the top of their game at this time. I saw the Buffalo concert in 85. Unbelievable!
This was deep into their synth era which a lot of fans didn't like. But any Rush is welcomed by me. I see what people are saying about the sound
Geddy Lee would have been 32 in 1985. I think the whole band were in their 30s in 85. Hard to believe Geddy Lee is 70 years old.
RUSH makes Canada proud.
All 3 of your uploads today have the sound messed up. You may want to check your settings.
Hey RSR Fam! We just realized the sound was off after uploading. We will fix it and repost tomorrow
Got to love the computer graphics from 1985.
It was considered high tech back then.
Similar to Money For Nothing from the same year
There's soooo many great songs you need to hear from RUSH still❤🇨🇦
Still one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands! The lyrics from this and Living Colour's Cult of Personality are so prescient in today's times! Both bands have amazing musicianship and incredible, powerful lyrics!
Distant Early Warning and New World Man
You guys are on a roll tonight, three great songs!
I love the lyrics of this song. It’s all about the money. Love you guys. 🇨🇦❤️
The garden, Ghost of a chance, Roll the bones
The Pass, Presto, Dreamline.
Simply one of the greatest rock bands ever!!!!
Neil Peart’s drum solo from the Buddy Rich memorial concert. Neil is playing with the Buddy Rich Band. The music is called Cottontail and it is a jazz standard.
Dude audio on video is so messed up????
Hey RSR Fam! We just realized the sound was off after uploading. We will fix it and repost tomorrow
YES!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!
Did you catch the rare Neil Peart smile?
Audio stacking is the best way I can describe it. I thought my computer was having a stroke. Aside from that, great song and great message from great artists is always welcome.
I feel this is one of guitarist Alex Lifeson best guitar solos and the message in this song, spot on. Geddy and Neil the greatest rhythm section in all of rock and roll. Great reaction and response 👊🏻
I don't think they've ever mentioned Alex once in a Rush reaction. It's the Geddy and Neil show.
@@gotham61 folks are letting them know, there good folks and young I cut them slack but poor Alex his whole career has always danced at the edge of the Rush limelight
Good lord, you GET RUSH!!! Bless you!
The Three Guys Orchestra is back on the channel!
Best band ever!
The audio is awful in this video.
The audio on all 3 videos tonight really sucks bad. It must be on their end. I just can't listen to this.
Rush is just always great. The one song I haven't heard in a long minute that I think you guys might like is.....Roll the Bones. I remember it being a really cool vibe.
I never heard this song by Rush can’t wait to hear it.
Unfortunately, it has really bad audio quality 😞
I saw RUSH in concert while in college at OU back in 1980'ish. Man, what a show!! I love their music. I have to say that my all time favorite song of theirs is "Tom Sawyer". Watching them perform it both live and on their video is just so cool!!! Thank y'all for your videos and reactions. You're awesome! Take care!
No, this is not the youngest version of Rush you've seen so far. You reacted to Limelight, just as an example, that was released in 1981. Four years before The Big Money.
Watching Rush play is like watching 3 musicians all doing a solo at the same time yet still sounding good together.
The song audio is borked, big-time.
You really need to check out Saga. "Don't Be Late", "Wind Him Up" or "On the Loose". They are another great Canadian prog band who kind of flew under a lot of radars.
Play working man from the All the world's a stage album live from 1976.
There's a nice drum solo at the end.
Also there's a song called Bytor and the snow dog, and the best version I've ever heard is on that album.
Yes Finally back to Rush! Thanks ❤
The audio on that video is completely jacked up.. oh wait everyone else has already chimed in
Been waiting a good while for you to get into this era of Rush. Grace Under Pressure and Power Windows albums have some great songs.
Thank you for reviewing my ultimate favorite RUSH song. This song brings back great memories of 1985 when I was in the third grade. The arrangements of the song along with the deep lyrics give me chills.
Dreamline. Red Sector A.
Jay "that's the youngest we've seen Rush"
Huh?? I think that's just about the oldest you've seen them, You have done Fly By Night, Limelight, Tom Sawyer, Subdivisions, Closer to the Heart, A Farewell To Kings, Red Barchetta, Freewill, The Spirit Of Radio, all of which were made years before The Big Money.
this same thing with the screen playback happened once before - about 18-20 months ago. Do you recall what you did to fix it then?
The album this song is from is ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. It's one of the only albums in the entire music history that has no "filler" songs on it. Every single song on here is as potent as Big Money and 100% worth the time to listen to. (Not to mention an insane solo by Alex on Emotion Detector)
One of my favorite Rush songs because it ROCKS!
Fantastic song with powerful lyrics! Alex Lifeson's guitar solo is 🔥🔥🔥
Please don't forget Alex Lifeson! There would be no Rush witout him! All three are geniuses.
Next I recommend Show don't tell (rabbit out of the hat intro)
1990 Presto Tour
Love yah! ❤
Yes, someone else suggested 2112 their greatest epic piece. That would be the perfect song to watch with the lyrics pulled up as you said Amber. As another viewer said it tells a beautiful story of a dystopian future where music has been banned and the hero of the story rediscovers music by finding a guitar in a cave. It came at a dark time in their career when the record company was leaning on them to produce mainstream hits for radio. They ultimately refused and came out with one of their greatest prog masterpieces 2112.
I am thankful that all of my RUSH albums - actual vinyl - have lyrics on the liners!
Other songs where they tried to get the word out are distant early morning, far cry, test for Echo, Manhattan project, and wish them well
Three men. All virtuosos on their respect instruments! G.O.A.T
Oh wow that’s the youngest? You should check out some of their 70s vids. Neil with the long hair and Stache. Alex long blonde hair. Geddy even longer hair…lol
If you want some rocking Rush, check out "Stick It Out" from '93.
Xanadu, Exit Stage Left 1981 in Montreal is a must. Absolutely jaw dropping, best concert ever.
Wait until you check their song Manhattan Project, an other masterfully told story.
I can't wait til they get to the power windows album
@@taylormurphy7717 Big Money IS a song of that album. ;)
@@Particulator I know I just would like them to do all the album 😉
Is what I meant to say
Loved this one, even if the sound was off. Great choice for a Rush song!
One iconic Rush song you might want to check is called The Trees (trouble in the forest)....Rush, a Canadian band, uses trees to explain the Canada/USA relationship....The Oaks are USA and the Maples are, of course, Canada...LOL enjoy!!! Peace.
love it ... geddy and the boys putting on a jam session in this video
You need to do Red Sector A with the knowledge that Geddy’s parents met in a concentration camp in WWII.
This was probably the most in-the-moment pop oriented Rush song besides "New World Man". While it sounded like the pop music of the day, the solo section comes along and yep, it's Rush!
dreamline,,,,🤘🤘🤘
Thanks so much for doing this one. My birthday was yesterday. Turned 15. Huge Rush fan. I’ve been listening to this one a lot recently. Mind readers.
Right on! Lyrics make Rush, but my favorite lyric is always “Instrumental Break”, cause you know you are always in for something special. Cheers!
great video, great reaction, i highly recommend listening to listening to part 1,2 & 3 of the fear off Grace under pressure live concert, they are the enemy within, the weapon and witch hunt, you wont be be dissapointed
From this same album came the song Marathon. Review the live version of Marathon recorded in Cleveland. Unbelievable!!!!
Should have done Manhattan Project last year when Oppenheimer came out
I’ll echo the crowd with the audio issues, but you two are the best reactors out there
This song and this album was so perfect for its time. 1985: the era of the corporatocracy, massive reckless speculative trading with investment banks and Wall Street, and when we really shifted from a manufacturing to a consumer economy, and all of 80s culture celebrated that consumerism in one way or another. Does anyone remember Michael Jackson trying to make Pepsi commercials? Did he really need to? No, but Big Money said Yes he should. It burned him literally.
Oh I remember this, it was the "Underwater" tour.
Hey guys . Like the channel a lot . Glad to see younger people like all types of music . I am the same at 57 . I know you guys like horns so here's one for you . Chuck Mangione and the song is Feels so good . I think you will enjoy it .
Sound check ✅ please!
That big money board game reminds me of monopoly
Waiting for you guys' reaction to Witch Hunt from Rush. You'll be blown away from the lyrics ,and realizing it was written 43 years ago.
This was an awesome tour!
I got to be honest I am a Toronto boy and saw Rush many times at a club called The Glassworks, I would always leave and head to The Piccadilly Tube and listen to a Stones cover band called Hot Rocks 😂
This was Rush in the middle 80's. 😊😊😊
I have a female Friday suggestion that I’m kind of shocked You haven’t done yet. The band is Modern Day Jukebox featuring Haley Reinhart. The song is Creep. She will absolutely blow your mind. vocally, her skills are up there with Barry from the Bee Gees. One of the most talented singers I’ve ever heard. This is a must listen song.
My favorite guitarists: 1.Eddie Van Halen 2. Alex Lifeson 3. Stevie Ray Vaughn 4. John Spinks (The Outfield)
Jay and Amber thank I love this I was one of the ones who requested this. The sound was messed up the first half of the song.
2nd video today had me checking my own audio. It was not on my end. Check your audio please. Was only messed up when the music was playing.
Jay & Amber, interesting that you played this 1985 Rush song after you played Paul McCartney & Wings hit 1985.🤔 The audio sounded overmodulated or distorted on this video. Next Rush song, "Roll The Bones". Thanks.
Van Halen Intruder intro into Pretty Woman
Alex is a good artist they have all good things in common but have there own respect for each other
Hey ya'll....Been going through your library cause I really dig your reactions and was noticing the STYX videos you have covered and how much you grooved out to RENEGADE. I'm telling you....if you like that HARD STYX you should check out Miss America from their Grand Illusion album. It highlights the amazing talent of guitarist James J Y Young who is responsible for the KICK ASS hard guitar of Styx's early heavy songs.
Y'all need to listen to the title cut from their album Roll The Bones , you will be pleasantly surprised I'm sure. Also the song "Red Sector A" from their Grace Under Pressure album.
Love the tone on Geddies Bass in this one, hope you get your audio issues sorted out especially if you're gonna react to Rush. 😊
Xanadu from the Exit Stage Left concert should be next. Don't miss out!
If you want some great lyrics check out Territories from the same album
