Whatever works, 2 fingers, 3 fingers, thumb and slap. You can find all these right hand methods get the job done from others doing covers of the same song. His timing is spot on.
@@ShuKatashSam Yeah but this song is way easier to play with fingers, pick usually sounds better on this songs bcs of tighter timing but pick destroys you arm lol
Playing with a pick or fingers is a technique. A specific technique doesn't dictate your timing. Timing comes with practice. Yes it is easier to play faster with a pick but timing depends on skill and not if one chooses to play with a pick or fingers.@@4fit816
I've been playing with a pick for more than 12 years. It doesn't take balls to do. You just have to ignore the naysayers. I've never seen a true professional musician ever dog someone for playing with a pick.
I honestly think it sounds so much better and brighter iron maiden bass lines with a pick. Steve Harris had to do so much to cut through the mix, and even though on live shows it was quite hard to hear the bass. Steve grew his nails, changed his strings EVERY concert and he plucked his bass really hard oftenly needing to do some type of fretting job on his bass… now for me, just a regular Joe, that’s a lot of effort to put and money spent, so I just use a pick and I get the job done!
FYI not triplets! Easy to get confused, but triplets are three notes in the place of one. Easy example is the “when you’re walking down the street-“ line in “22 Acacia Avanue”. A gallop is just one 8th note and two 16th notes. Hope this helps :)
The sheer balls this man has to play Iron Maiden on bass with a pick with no fear of crucifixion is insane!! Keep up the great work

Easier to get timing with pick on this song but waay harder to play it with pick
@@davolthe1261 pick is a crutch for bad bass players who can't play fingerstyle
@@wilsu Yeah sure try play trooper with a pick whole song, it's way easier fingerstyle actually
@@davolthe1261 how about you throw away your pick and learn to play with your fingers
@@wilsu there’s nothing wrong with playing bass with a pick… Everyone has their own style of playing. I play bass with a pick depending on the genre.
