As a basses I prefer finger style. Sounds cleaner and smoother to me, but hey just do you. If you like using a pick over finger. Go with it. Fuck what e b eryone else thinks.

Also, if you have ever played bass, you can play faster with your fingers versus using a pick. -It just suits that particular style of music better. It's has nothing to do about being "snobby". (-FYI When I first started playing I used to play with a pick.) Playing with a pick is cleaner sounding, but you just can't play as fast. At least for most.😉 For me, playing with your fingers give you more speed, more low end boom, and tremble. To each their own, though.. It's just when anyone plays Metallica's "Orion" they want to pay homage to Cliff Burton, who played with his fingers. It's a unspoken rule of thumb to Metallica fans.

And not being able to play fast using a pick is not an excuse not to use this technic, you don't need speed to play songs as Orion, you're just looking for an excuse to blame the pick technic, like all the other snobs.
