- Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and Pilsen is the capital of Czech beer. In this video, we will visit Pilsner Urquell brewery and the city of Pilsen. We'll teach you why Pilsen has a camel on its crest, why the city was so important for the nazis in the second world war and what are its main attractions today.

I know you’re Real Prague Guides but would love to see more of Plzen please!
I went to Plzeň in 2020, beautiful city, easy to reach from Prague by train. Highly recommend a few nights there.
Absolutely agree!!
I went to Prague for 2 weeks this year and went to Plzen for 1 weekend and Brno on the 2. It was my 3rd time to go to Czech Republic and will be back again soon.
The first time I went to Prague I drove from Dortmund in Germany and came past Pilsner. It looked very grey industrial and uninviting, but now watching the video it’s somewhere I’d like to visit, wow guy’s thanks for the video. Are you planning to do one in Brno or is that too far away🤔
Hi Valerie, will be visiting Prague in January 2023. Hope to have a chance to meet you in person.
Pilsen is a strange city - it heavily industrialized, but since many of its suburbs used to be standalone towns and villages, it also has this rural character to it. Nature is very close thanks to the five river-valleys and some of the suburbs still feel like small countryside villages of their own with traditional “rural baroque” farmhouses.
Additional sights to not miss:
- Catacombs of Pilsen
- Old Synagogue
- Loos’ Interiors (functianalist architecture).
- Patton Memorial and Museum
To foreign visitors - Pilsen is easily reached either from Prague or from Munich by a direct train. The city is very walkable, has an excellent public transport and wide selection of hotels with affordable prices.
Amazing city.
I’ve been to Prague Plzen and Polica and I like them all. Even in the winter. Great country and friendly people, it helps if you know the locals. Big shout out to Ondra, Mia, Petry & Michal for support in the Skateboard slalom community!
Very beautifull video guys. Thanks.
There is a British documentary siries named War Factories, in it's 3rd season there is an episode devoted only to the Škoda factory in Pilsen and its WWII director Alebert Göring, yes, brother of Hermann Göring. And he's not the type a guy one would expect to be brother of a top nazzi.
Also it would be good to mention for foreigners watching this channel today there are two Škoda companies the one in Mladá Boleslav, making cars, owned by VolksWagen group. And other in Pilsen, making trains, trams and heavy industrial equipment (like turbines for nuclear powerplants).
It was always two separate companies. In 1920s much bigger Škoda from Pilsen invested in Laurin & Klement automotive company in Mladá Boleslav.
thank you! will be there in 2 weeks!
Went to Plzen in July on a day out from Prague . Really nice city to walk round .
Brilliant. We must go when next in CZ
Was there and can´t wait to go back! Love this city
OMG you are so incredible!! So funny and so beautiful!!!
PROST RPGs!!! I hope you all have a Merry Christmas, and I look forward to seeing you in the new year
I grew up in Argentina, and although the beer manufacturers there where from German origin, the type of beer produced was Pilsen. Which is strange enough but the oldest brewery was founded by a French-German immigrant from Alsace, France, Emilio Bieckert. Now I have to visit Plzen, tour the brewery and have a go to that unfiltered, freshly brewed beer (tried once at the Tecate brewery in Mexico and is delicious and extremely refreshing.)
Like prague nowhere
@@yiannisg ?
@@fredyair1 very good beer
It wasnt offensive its was just a comment.. very nice beer in prague
Pilsen beer is very ordinary.
Really beautiful ❤
Thank you Valery & team. No video on Christmas tree in Prague?
Merry X'Mas.

You see! You are better marketer than we are 😂
My canadian friend Bryan climbed the plzen church...mat least 20 Times. He is still Not bored. 🤔
Perfect video. Easy accesible from Prague. Maybe not the most interesing place in the world, to be honest, still worth a visit if you ŕe getting bored here in Prague.
Thanks I will be in plzen 31st August and then to kutna hora on the 1st September. Then onto Prague. Thanks for the information on these 3 places
I did my Erasmus there and Plzen will always be in my heart. Thank you for the videooo ❤
Never was in Plsen, unless I had a family there. My dream to visit.
And, by the way, big like for a climbing
love your videos! can not wait to come visit - see you next month! Hope I can book you guys as travel guides!
I saw the church in Pilsen in 1990 Marc Mcccrory in Houston texas
Beer is always good!
Thank you for climbing the tower.
Thanks for the video
Hi, We are visiting Prague in June and Yesterday i found your videos. They are great and very informative. Thank you for the great effort. i love my beer and I am looking forward to our visit.
Great video, dears. Excellent music 👍🏽👍🏽
thanks for this video…now ive change my mind and wont stay all week in prague.i will go one day to pilsen
I took the Pilsner Urquell tour in late June of 2022. According to our guide, in the tunnels where they serve the unfiltered variety there is a cave you can rent, by the hour, and drink unfiltered Pilsner Urquell for as long as it's rented. I need to know more about that option. 🤣
I have visited the Czech capital of Prague and I was engrossed by the culture, next time I shall travel outside of Prague:)
Valerie deserves 299 likes for her work from each RUclips fan ! Good work
I wish this video would have been out when we went to Prague. We decided not to go to Pilsen. We went on another day trip instead. I don’t recall why. Next time though, we are definitely going to Pilsen.
Thanks!
Thank you very much!
And the beer is very cheap in the Czech Republic! Just don't try asking, as I did, for non-alcoholic beer - it's called lemonade!
Dobré odpoledne!
Nice to find this video, among your Prague guides.
I have done a little bit of research, and it seems that Plzeň is MUCH cheaper to live in than Prague (and also Brno). I have already seen quite a bit of this big town, and it's picturesque. It has both the characters of a small city, with opportunities for many activities in and around the city. And there's immediate closeness to nature, as said in the video.
I did not know the story about Škoda, though. Hmm. Well, it seems that few know about the German car brand Volkswagen, which of course means "the people's car", but that it was a gift to the people by none other than Hitler.
Anyway, as mentioned by others here, I would not mind a more in-depth guide to Plzeň by this lovely channel. Although I'm sure other channels have been there too.
Personally, I'm a bit more interested in what life is like in Czechia, rather than passing through as a tourist.
I appreciate the effort, but at the top you got a view of the Skoda factory 😢. Next time at the top I hope you can see something nicer
Pilsen the cradle of Czech/Bavarian beer.
We went there the first time we were in Prague - such a lovely little town. I loved it. Have you been to the new Pilsner-Urquell Experience in Prague yet?
Thanks Valery we willa be passing though Plzen in November. Do they have brewery tours on Saturday? Wow I looked online and tickets are Kc549?? Really?
Ok, so.. I decided to ask under this video, because it's related.
tl;dr - Why is it, that in Prague the beer offered in pubs and restaurants ratio is 1000: 2 : 00.1 for Pilsner Urquell : Staropramen : Bernard?
I just came back from Prague. I haven't had water in 5 days and I feel great (I'm not a drunk-tard). I visited as much as I can from your recommended places and loved them. If you ever come to Bulgaria - I'd buy you a beer. Anyway - I really could not find beers like Bernard, Zatecky Hus, Starobrno and only twice stumbled upon a dark Kozel. I understand that the Urquell is the cradle of Czeck beer, I loved it, but there are literally just a few places that offer something different. Maybe you should make a video about the beer :)) Cheers!
I believe it was 2 or 3 years ago, Plzen was rated most beautiful city in the world.
I gave you a like bc you tried to climb the tall spire 😂
0:26 I mean this camel needs help
Edit: 2:49 Eragon

When you always travel with your family and when with a group o friends service can be different from a country to an other.
Je nějaký minimální počet lidí na prohlídku pivovaru nebo mohou jít 2 lidé např. nebo pokud jste 2, čekáte na další zájemce?
🥰👍🥰
3:55 I do not know when exactly did you film this, but if you did film this before 24th of December then he was not born yet. They put him there after 24th. If you film this after 24th and he was not there, well then he was stolen :P
Ježíšek tam není páč se ještě "jakoby"nenarodil..Bude tam až na štědrej den..Peace
jsi moc krásná

Ježíška nikdo neukradl, správně se objeví až na Vánoce, na své narozeniny...
Taky jsme pak cetli 😅
@@RealPragueGuides Tak to správně má být podle církevních tradic.
Až na to že se nenarodil v čas vánoční .. církevní tradice - rozuměj pohanský svátek ..
3:50 Jesus was not born yet, he will be here in 25.12
Your very gorgeous
mluv česky
To video má prilakat zahranicni turisty. Ty s čestinou neoslovite. Jazyk se jim treba libit bude, ale nebudou mu rozumet.
its a Japanese own brewery now .......sadly
overpriced 11 degree beer
It is damn 11.84 which normal people round as twelve 😂.
Our real prague guides know lots of things but they don't know a European wide tradition at 3:50. It is agreed to place Jesus in the nativity scene on December 25 at midnight. BAD SO BAD. BASIC KNOWLEDGE. BOOOOOOHHH! To celebrate the birth of Jesus, you don't show the baby before its birthday.
You know whats the best? We have edited this video and had the choice to cut this part out but left it there anyways 😎 (why do you think that is?)
@@RealPragueGuides For sure i was trolling you because the rest of the time, you know much more than me. 😜😜
