I think part of the issue isn't the race itself, but the difference in culture. See for my part I was interested in an Asian man... Until I met his mother. As soon as she saw I was flirting with him she turned from sweet and the nicest lady to judgmental, harsh and sometimes downright mean. I thought it was odd because he was an adult and should have the ability to make his own choices like it is in Western culture, but I learned that even as adults parents have a huge influence on the lives of their children. Even if you don't see it, it's definitely there. Unfortunately I didn't feel comfortable enough after that to date him, but I do feel bad because he was a nice guy and it wasn't really his fault. But as they say, when you marry someone you marry their family too, and his mom scared me off.

In China, the reverse is true. Most white women prefer Chinese men in China while white men in China could manage to get the ugliest and undesired Chinese women. This gives rise to the hatred that white men in China hate China and Chinese.
