For those who didn’t watch the stream, Jaiden actually lost her first attempt at the Elite Four. Her Togekiss died to a crit Stone Edge against Aaron’s Heracross, and her Garchomp and Quagsire had really unlucky deaths against Bertha’s Rhyperior. Since the rest of her team was weak against Flint, she gave up. However, since the reason for her losing was extremely unlucky and not mistakes on her part, she did a poll asking if she could retry the Elite Four. 70% said yes, so she did it again. She won, but it was hollow. “Alternate Timeline Jaiden” was her, when she lost the first attempt.
I thought the weird glitchy flashbacks were just flashy and fun, but according to the comments, Jaiden actually failed the Elite Four on her first attempt and got a retry. That was a fantastic and creative method to both be open about your loss, as well as make something wildly entertaining and visually spectacular! Excellent work, Jaiden!
so the other jaiden the one that was split is failure jaiden the first jaiden that failed basically making this jaiden the alternate version the winning jaiden? so basically it was forshadowing her livestream i didnt get to finish seeing i guess
@@nerdycookiebunny856 For what I understand (since I can't see the livestream replay), is that Jaiden lost the first try because of bad RNG (2 OHKO attacks hit 2 of her Pokemon). The chat let her retry one more time, and that is how she win. That is why of the glitches: Jaiden is looking at her "Original" version losing the original run.
@Jesper Ingebrigtsen i mean it could be but it isn’t, in the livestream she got critted and lost very important members of her team, which made it impossible for her to beat the elite 4, and she lost after the fire type user.
@Jesper Ingebrigtsen no she actually did lose to Bertha she just made an alternate reality story for the animation because its a bit boring to say in an animation "i lost and tried again" it was more fun to make a creative and interesting story.
So for anyone confused about the whole giratina timeline jazz I’ll explain. In the nuzlocke during the stream Jaiden had lost half her team while fighting the elite 4 and held a poll during the stream where she would restart from the Pokémon Center in front of the elite 4 this is why she kept seeing flashbacks those are the Pokémon who died during those fights. Just thought I’d explain for anyone confused. Edit: For anyone looking for the stream it was reuploaded by “A daily dose of Jaiden”
The ending is literally an anime ending. The music and timing is unbelievably good. By the way, for those who don’t know, the “glitches” are caused because jaiden actually lost on stream but chat let her have another go at the elite 4
@@anagamingroblox5034 she died in the elite4 because she was really unlucky. lots of critical hits on the opponents side, so she ran a poll and like 70% said she should retry, since it was her birthday and, again, she was extremely unlucky.
Can we talk about the fact that she achieved to animate such a sad scene with that little poor scared shinx that was afraid to die and abandoned by his trainer? That was so fricking emotional, congrats
I love how Jaiden chose to incorporate both of her experiences with the elite four into the story. It is creative, unnerving, and seriously memorable. That one flash of Togekiss is haunting...
This video still messes me up. The elite four/distortion realm section is haunting and the low note of the ending is such a pit in my stomach. Idk if Jaiden has commented on her feelings on it, but I hope the end is a huge overstatement
This is to whoever is confused about the “distorted timeline”. Basically, Jaiden was doing this run before, but, she failed. The distorted timeline and the “guilt” at the end is her winning her second attempt. Just to tell anyone who is confused. (Also, her second attempt was her restarting at the first member, because none of her pokemon died until Bertha.)
i love how she turned the concept of just regular save state using and turned it into the most hollow gut punch of an ending to a story i can think of.
The "undeserving win" and "Giratina splitting her" was actually a reference to her Twitch stream, where she actually lost the Nuzlocke, but the chat called court, and let her try again since she took like 10 crits or something.
@@akpokemon I think she didn’t tell us because she wanted to make the video longer and entertaining for us instead of a 12 minute video because she lost so...probably
@@SirQuackles she lost the elite 4. So she’d still have gotten a lot of content, but it’s much better storytelling if she got another go. Also it was bs she lost
Fun fact: jaiden's garchomp nature are hasty which is lower it's defence and increase the speed. That's one reason that jaiden's garchomp can outspeed Cynthia's garchomp
might be true, but she grinded gabite by killing ponytas and that got her speed EVS which also helped with it. its like how when she killed 80 merill in her ruby nuzlocke with magneton and merills give 2 def EVS each so that magneton was VERY VERY bulky.
For anyone who doesn't understand: Jaiden actually "lost" this Nuzlocke the first time she challenged the Elite Four. Her team was wiped out, but instead of quitting when she was so close, she chose to try again to at the very least beat the game, much to the support of her livestream at the time.
Jaiden could literally make a story that connects the other half that was sucked by Giratina to Legends Arceus, with a mission of rescuing her partners that perished during the Elite Four battles. She can even argue that their spirits, instead of being lost, were dragged into the past with her to save a Space-Time distortion that could've ended the world as a whole.
This Nuzlocke was heartbreaking, emotional, beautiful, amazing in so many ways. This might be the best nuzlocke ever seen. The flashbacks and the storyline of 2 Jaidens and the deaths of the pokemon in the other dimension through the whole late parts of the game..... It was simply amazing, thank you Jaiden :)
Not even joking, the emotional scenes with the glitching and deaths were just fantastically animated and acted, props Jaiden. Literally got chills on the Elite 4 Edit: The ending was just explained to me. In the story version of what happened (aka this video as opposed to the stream) she did die a few times, which is when things glitched. The first time was in the other dimension, where she was originally split into a second person in a second timeline. I can't help but think it's really creative and cool to turn "my chat wanted me to keep going even though I lost lmao" into "there's a separate timeline where everything went wrong." That's a big factor in why this is my fav Jaiden animations vid so far. Jaiden, congrats on growing as an amazing storyteller, and the team, y'all are the true madlads :D
Bro this video gives me goosebumps- the way you made your loss into a part of the lore is so cool to me and it leads to such a cool ending where even in your victory you are unsatisfied. It’s like poetry and it’s beautiful
@@obvioussonicfan imagine being forced to fight for your life and the one you serve betrays you and you can't do anything about it plus how do we know we're just a game in someone's life what if this is a simulation would you like to be controlled and forced to do something you don't want to do
Honestly, one of the best animation storytellers on YT. Started out as the fun and happy Nuzlocke video like we got previously, then things took a turn towards the dark and real side towards the end. Honestly, great use of the Pokemon: Mystery Dungeon Soundtrack and the cover from the user. Thank you Jaiden for your incredible storytelling. This was way better than any Netflix drama and any other Pokemon video on YT.
Idk why but my English skills came at the end 😂. I loved how she kept asking rhetorical qs at the end of the vid and then used the repetition ‘I don’t know the answer’ (or whatever it was) which really made us the audience rlly feel more engaged
To those curious about the glitchy scenes, she lost to flint in her "first run", and if you pay attention to the weird scenes she showed images of who beat who which was actually amazing, what happened was that during aaron, togekiss was killed, but that was ok. However against bertha, rhyperior took out quagsire which was her sole plan to take out garchomp. This caused her to make the rash decision of throwing in garchomp against a th rhyperior with earthquake and avalanche which cost her that too. If you look at the video it shows thyperior holdimg both garchomp and quagsire. Then, flint finished her team as they all were weak to fire which is shown how everyone left is burnt in the flames. She decided to go again because of course that's what we wanted and she managed to win.
This was really well storytelling on your part with the glitches. It's a wonderful way to include what happened in the stream while making it blend into the story so seemlessly
I love how bittersweet this video felt. Right from the getgo you can tell that it's not nearly as upbeat or cheery as the first nuzlocke. I like the way you chose to tell and animate the elite 4 battles. It was very funny with good joke placement, but it felt different from the first run in some ways. Not bad, just different.
Yeah ... actually, not to spoil anything, but I would just like to say that what actually happened is that Jaiden was fighting the Elite Four. She lost two Pokémon to OHKO crits (Quagsire from Rhyperior’s Earthquake and Togekiss from Heracross’ Stone Edge) and blamed it on RNG. As a result, she ran a poll on her stream for whether or not Jaiden should restart at the Elite Four because she wanted to try again to Cynthia and 70% of viewers said yes, so that’s what happened. She then says that the original Jaiden, who played with normal nuzlocke rules, wiped to Flint while the alternate Jaiden went all the way to Cynthia and became champion. I actually like this telling of the story.
*Destiny* The ending you got was destend for you. The flashes of alternate outcomes that you foresaw were a testament to your perseverance. You could have lost, you could have died, you could have even survived every crit. But in the end you came out on top. Claim your victory it is yours, a result of all the hard work that you put in. This was the ending meant for the strongest Jaiden.
@@lindakontoh-snelling3734 woah, guess I was wrong :/ nevertheless my comment could just be in the context of an alternate detention future created in a storyline of this video
For context during the end of her twitch live streams she lost the elite four battles and she did a vote with chat to try again or end the play through there and chat decided to try again but Jaiden counted that as a lost but wanted to win for the video
Wow, the way Jaiden told this nuzlocke story with that alternative timeline glitch was so intense and gave such a powerful message. It’s crazy how that original failed attempt with the retry could express a simple Pokémon nuzlocke animation to something with a deeper meaning and message.
I know this video is 3 years old now but it’s still one of my favorites to go back and watch on your channel. The amount of amazing story telling, art work, and the emotion you put into your videos is awesome. I tear up watching this specific video every time and it’s absolutely amazing. You’re doing great Jaiden and we all love you
the truth about the history of this parallel universe is that Jaiden lost the first time she went to elite 4, but she went back in her savepoint in the elite four, I watched the livestream (I edited because some people are getting confuse, no she didn't restart the whole game, she just came back to the last save point in the elite four)
Literally a matrix situation where in the matrix part you succeed, but do you really? A matrix situation where you feel like the win was in a false dimension. I didn't watch the stream, so i'm wondering if it's the sheer luck that made the win not feel right, or if it's something deeper. (it's something deeper isn't it?)
The two Nuzlocke videos are my favorite, this one is the best though. It's so cool how Jaiden managed to make a Pokémon play through make me feel sad, scared, and shocked. This video is incredible. Like when Failure died I felt something, and during the Giratina part it was like genuinely so amazing. Not to mention the hints at Togekiss's original faith and the alternate world ending. Great job.
For those confused by the duel jaiden thing, she died to Bertha on the first attempt due to some bad luck, but did one more try afterwards just to see if she could make it to Cynthia for the story
Thank you!! I was wondering if she had cheated at the elite 4 or got her ass handed to during the giratina battle, haha. It's such a neat way to make a good narrative out of something like that!
the flashes is creative as hell showing how jaiden had lost the nuzlocke through her first attempt but the chat gave her another chance when she asked if she should go again..that's terrifying well done I know this video was a year ago but its still good.
Ok but The way that Jaiden animated the “lost” run in as a separate universe is so cool. Maybe you didn’t win the Nuzlocke on the first try, but I think the video is better for it. Thanks for making another Nuzlocke.
Oh my god Failure was sent to execution, the way he looked so excited to be with you and then sad when it realised it was going to die was fuckin heart breaking
“But, I don’t think I can ever accept this victory. I don’t know what ending was meant for me. And I don’t think I ever will.” . . . Damn, this hits hard. Not only do I relate but sometimes I feel as if I was meant for a different fate. I know this is for a Pokémon game but it still hits like a truck.
The animation of Failure watching Jaiden walk away and staring at the Froslass made me feel so bad for the poor baby. He didn't deserve such a sad ending to his young life.
agreed... she said Failure gave up their life... but im just screaming that Failure didnt have a choice! He just wanted to help.... he just wanted love!
Why on earth she didn't Swords Dance Bullet Punch swept Candice with Scizor? Seriously, that was very stupid, Scizor isn't even weak to any of Candice's attacks.
The first time I saw this, I thought the whole thing with the 2 Jaidens and the glitching and the alternate timeline was actually part of the game's plot. Now after reading the comments I realize the meaning and have a new found respect in Jaiden's creative storytelling.
I was not expecting an animation like this to go so deep and to be kind of scary I was not expecting this and frankly I I like it I think it's interesting to see what she's thinking when it comes to just a simple game just what happens in a simple game can change someone's life. and to me what she's saying is actually really profound and I do agree.
I actually have to thank my lil’ sister for introducing me to Jaiden’s videos. I love ‘em but she LIVES for them. Edit: She told me to write this and is currently threatening me with a crowbar. Send help.
is it bad that i laughed when she said 'it surrendered its life' but she forced him to be a poke-shield LMAO jaiden it didnt want to die you just sentenced it to death
For the record, it was chat's decision to have Jaiden redo her elite 4 run. She failed the first time by getting super unlucky, and sometimes that's just how the game goes, but she was fine to have her loss be the end if that's what the viewers wanted.
The bit with the fight against Cynthia's garchomp was so cool...just the combination of how violently the garchomp kills jaiden's pokemon, and then flakes literally runs Cynthia's garchomp through...the animation was so perfect.
Not gonna lie, the way failure was animated where it was looking up at Jaiden as she walks away, and then it turns around made me literally so sad- especially since Shinx’s r one of my fave pokemons based on design
"Jaiden's art and animation skills are so amazing!" Yeah, but can we talk about how great she is at storytelling? Honestly, she's on a level I aspire to reach. Truly incredible!
Holy. Shit. 4 years later and that ending monologue still gets me. Your animation is undoubtedly your greatest talent, but your storytelling is criminally underrated. Also I caught a Roggenrola in my nuzlocke a few months ago and named it Dwayne after your Onix
Jaiden straight up just made a whole series worth of story in 23 mins. Leaving the whole"time line" thing unexplained while giving us hints on what actually happened was brilliant. Now that's an example of good story telling.
on her live she died to the elite four but the chat said she could restart so one time line was the first time when she failed and the second was when she got all the way threw
I love how Jaiden is hugging her Crobat and Jolteon thanking them for everything knowing she couldn’t bring them to the final battle but they helped a lot to make it this far. Very beautiful and sweet
I personally liked this video because according to the other comments. Jaiden lost her first attempt in the Pokémon league and the corruption edits are from the jaiden that fell off the distortion world’s perspective. I loved that because it is showing the people who didn’t watch the stream. Also the picture shows the team dead, burnt, or some other fatality Edit: Holy Moly! Thanks For The Likes

Crits also are the thing that keep Nuzlockes challenging because a pro player would otherwise just strategize and play around everything with little to no real risk.

I was slightly confused about the ending, but definitely got the impression that it meant you had to take a second go at the Elite 4. I can't say I blame you or your chat at all for that, and I think it made for a REALLY cool way to work the distortion world dimension splitting into your video and I think you did an amazing job of it! I wish it had been just a little more obvious what happened, but I don't think that's a huge deal. Massive respect for the creativity it took to take all of the time and effort that went into the play through and turn the initial negative outcome into a really unique animation. Incredibly well done!
@@totallynameless8861 I mean theoretically every game over you get in any game could count as a split in the timeline where the hero loses and does not get their epic ending.
oooh if that's what happened, the ending makes a lot more sense to me now. Or if she's sad that she couldn't bring all the pokemon because they died early. But your explanation makes a lot more sense! Would've loved a bit more clarification in the video tbh
It's much worse when you don't see it from her meta perspective. Giratina decided to curse Jaiden, by letting her see visions of a slight alternate version of herself who lost because of simply bad luck, putting Jaiden in an existential crisis. She was given forbidden knowledge. This was Giratina's last attempt of revenge in advance before it got caught. In the end It was Giratina who won. Edit: Or even worse, she's still in the distortion world living her worse nightmare Edit edit: wait nightmares are Darkrai's thing.
Okay, here’s what actually happened, and this may explain why she felt this way: While doing the Elite Four, Jaiden’s Togekiss died to a crit OHKO Stone Edge from Aaron’s Heracross and her Quagsire died to a crit OHKO Earthquake from Bertha’s Rhyperior. Blaming it on RNG, Jaiden declared the attempt a loss, but wanted to restart at the Elite Four to try and reach Cynthia. She put a poll on her Twitch chat to get opinions, and 70% of her viewers were okay with it. Original Jaiden wiped to Flint while alternate Jaiden became champion.
Even though she lost her initial nuzlocke, i really enjoyed and was impressed at how it was worked into a good plot in the video. Its shows the creativity it took for this video. Well done jaiden.

To answer the question “Are there some things you can’t escape even when you do everything to alter it?” Yes there are somethings that are or become inevitable. Although victory and success are often earned through action and preparing just as much defeat and failure are earned through inaction and being shortsighted. Put your heart into everything and failure loses its power over your mind. If you gave it your all you can take peace that there was no other outcome.
Okay, I seriously love how Giratina was used to literally pull off the whole 'this has happened before, but poorly' bit. Like... Its literally 'Satan', the Pokemon of Anti-Matter. It gave off a much more serious vibe and.. Honestly, gave it a kinda more serious and slightly dark outlook throughout the rest of the video with some jests at times. Yeah, maybe it could of worked as well with Diagla or Palkia, but.. Giratina is the only one to make it look so dark. And Giratina narrowing his eyes, not in an angry way.. But more of.. Mockingly 'I know' way? Perfection.
The split jaidens is actually a reference to how she failed pretty badly to the Elite 4 her first time, but chat let her have another go because it was her birthday.
I honestly see Giritina as being the embodiment of Gravity. Dialga and Palkia are Time and Space respectively, both of which are intrinsically linked (Spacetime and the theory of relativity specifically) and Giritina being Gravity makes more sense than Anti-matter, as an extremely strong force of gravity, like a Black Hole, can literally bend space and time in and around itself, while Anti-Matter doesn't have that effect (to my knowledge at least) instead completely obliterating any matter it comes into contact with. If the Distortion world was a world of Anti-Matter and Giritina was also an entity comprised of Anti-Matter the moment Giritina entered our reality or anyone entered the Distorion world, that should have started the process of obliteration until there was no more matter or anti-matter left in the area either entity existed in. However not only are we the players and Giritina able to exist in each other's respective worlds the way Giritina changes form depending on which dimension it's in, and if it's holding the Grisieous Orb or not, may in fact be a response to taking a form more suited for the respective gravity of either world. In the distortion world specifically there are multiple floating platforms that exist, some of which are either facing each other on their sides, or in the case of the waterfall basically facing one another head on, which (to me at least) suggests that each platform has their own respective gravity that's strong enough for us to be pulled toward when we jump (for lack of a better word) off of one platform and onto another which would be us leaving one platform's respective gravity "Bubble" and into the "Bubble" of another platform allowing us to stand "upright" relatively speaking. Didn't mean to go off on such a long tangent, but that's just my two cents here.
Unironically, this video is one of the most emotionally invested GAME recaps I’ve seen. The metaphor of the two different time lines you had, and the pain that came with one and the happiness/guilt with the other, was so poetic and heartfelt. I wonder how many people who came in expecting a normal entertaining video left with a life message? What a banger video dude
I find it interesting she gives you a Togepi egg and then has a Togekiss on her team later. Maybe she's trying to hint that Togekiss is a pretty good Pokemon and is hoping it'll give you a fighting chance?

For anyone who doesn't understand: Jaiden actually "lost" this Nuzlocke the first time she challenged the Elite Four. Her team was wiped out, but instead of quitting when she was so close, she chose to try again to at the very least beat the game, much to the support of her livestream at the time.
Specifically, she never made it past Flint iirc, which is why Rhyperior and Flint, in general, caused flashcuts of death in the animation.
Omg that makes it so much more crazy. Thanks for sharing.
Man you are the best
and we got a deep Ending that better than original game ending that more than you just become a champion
yes watch purplecliffe
I agree with everything you said there, couldn't have said it better

But i see two replies (not including this one.
Hmm.
Not even joking, the emotional scenes with the glitching and deaths were just fantastically animated and acted, props Jaiden. Literally got chills on the Elite 4
Edit: The ending was just explained to me.

Idk why but my English skills came at the end 😂. I loved how she kept asking rhetorical qs at the end of the vid and then used the repetition ‘I don’t know the answer’ (or whatever it was) which really made us the audience rlly feel more engaged
Very very true.
My favorite story tellers on RUclips are Jaiden and Odd1sout.
THANK you

I like the way you chose to tell and animate the elite 4 battles. It was very funny with good joke placement, but it felt different from the first run in some ways. Not bad, just different.
Agreed. I also like how she represented how she lost.
I agree
Yeah ... actually, not to spoil anything, but I would just like to say that what actually happened is that Jaiden was fighting the Elite Four.
*Destiny*
The ending you got was destend for you. The flashes of alternate outcomes that you foresaw were a testament to your perseverance. You could have lost, you could have died, you could have even survived every crit. But in the end you came out on top. Claim your victory it is yours, a result of all the hard work that you put in. I don't know anything about this channel, this just showed up as an autoplay. I have to say though, holy shit the level of effort put into this made me stop what I was doing and watch the entire thing after the 1st 30 seconds. I haven't seen any other videos on your channel yet but sub earned. Seriously this was incredible.
kinda wild to hear of someone who doesn't know of jaiden ngl but you should definitely check out her other stuff, she puts an insane amount of effort into every video ! and they're hella binge worthy
Welcome to the channel. Your gonna have a good time.
I envy you cause you get to watch all her videos for the first time as i already watched all of them

Poor little Shinx. The animation is so great, it genuinely makes me feel sorry for the little guy.
Didn’t have a chance
Even tho It wont be shown or ever thought of doing, I hope the lil Shinx is getting its reward and being lovingly cared for after that 😭

Oh my gosh, Jaiden, you are such a good storyteller! This brought me to tears just as your first nuzlock video did!
You brought so much life into this, I mean, this story practically *breathes!*
The jokes, the drama, everything is absolutely amazing!
This was truly a labor of love, and I thank you and your amazing team for bringing us another fantastic Pokemon story! ^^

People who use revives: You have no power here.
Dang right She’s incredible with storytelling, and nothing will change that!!!!

To answer the question “Are there some things you can’t escape even when you do everything to alter it?”
Yes there are somethings that are or become inevitable.
Although victory and success are often earned through action and preparing just as much defeat and failure are earned through inaction and being shortsighted.
Put your heart into everything and failure loses its power over your mind. If you gave it your all you can take peace that there was no other outcome.
Thats good to read i might use that someday for something
Dread it. Run from it. Destiny still arrives.

Yeah, I never seen so many crits ...
Perfection.
honestly this is why giratina is my favorite pokemon its just chaos inhabited in a body ooh i love chaos so much
The split jaidens is actually a reference to how she failed pretty badly to the Elite 4 her first time, but chat let her have another go because it was her birthday.
@@General_C I see. I was wondering what the hell was going on. Nightmare fuel Bertha and stuff.
“Egg?”...”Uh, yeah!” That’s a quality moment right there.
eGg?!!!!
Why were there hearts in her eyes when egg happened
Jaiden: almost dies due to how stressed she is
Cynthia: can I offer you an egg in these trying times?
Lmao
Lol
The logic of Cynthia giving you togepi and then killing it later
hahahaahahahahaahahaaaahaha
I find it interesting she gives you a Togepi egg and then has a Togekiss on her team later. Maybe she's trying to hint that Togekiss is a pretty good Pokemon and is hoping it'll give you a fighting chance?
Cynthia be like: I BROUGHT YOU INTO THIS WORLD NOW IMMA TAKE YOU OUT
edit:jeez 16 likes?! thats insane! i barely even get 1 like!
Ironic
Maybe Cynthia really hated that togepi
Nuzlockes give me more full body tingles than asmr... the story telling and the loss... It brings me to tears.
Jeez, imagine being a lvl 5 shinx, stolen from your home, named failure by your trainer, kept in a box for days on end, only to be thrown out to your death on the 7th gym. Poor guy, RIP

Hearing the bits of your genuine reactions while playing is honestly one of the best parts of these videos.
Jaiden at the end of the Ruby nuzlocke: We may have faced some challenges along the way, but all of my team, currently here or not, got us to this point, we are the rightful champion, but the journey was most important
Jaiden at the end of the Platinum nuzlocke: I've won, but at what cost?
i cannot describe how true that is

Teriyaki: What did it cost?
Jaiden: Everything
@SpiderSketches
She did not cheat
@SpiderSketches brosef, Pokemon Challenges said it best. These challenges are just ways to make you enjoy the game more. She can do what she wants. And to be honest, I feel like if she had first tried the E4, the title of the video would be different.
