Very cool and looks better than my shiatsu guy. I'm making a second guy and now I wish I went with a wiper motor before I bought the second shiatsu from ebay. So simple yet smart use of minimal materials and lightweight. Thanks for showing us.
You guys sold me on making one, the other night on Haunters HangOut! It was a blast doing the show with you. Thank you for post a great tut. I will post a video after I make mine.
Thank you for sharing, i like the idea of the pvc piping wired together rather than gluing them together. Most of my zombies are static props and I would like to have some zombie that start rotating. Thanka!
I used a fence pole bracket from Home Depot. Its the kind of bracket that clamps onto steel fence poles and the flanges are there to attach wooden fence rails. It takes some fidgetting, but the bracket will slide over the cylinder portion of a Monsterguts wiper motor. As far as the pvc spine attaching to the crankarm of the motor, its not. It simply sits on top, over the "ball" portion that is attached to the crank arm. That little ball keeps the pvc in place.
This is awesome. I’ve been wanting to try making an animated prop ,and this is the closest I’ve come to finding a tutorial that explains it in simple enough terms that even I might actually be able to follow it. Thank you!
Looks awesome! You've convinced me to make one of these in the near future lol it actually looks easy enough that someone with no animated props (like me) can takle! Huge effect too :) They would look perfect in a big horde or all throughout the yard! Thanks for sharing
Very cool man! The movement is perfectly creepy. Think of having about 10 of those moving in different styles in front of a spooky barn like walking dead lol. Or even coming out of an old shack....that would be sick! Keep Haunting! :)
Thank you for this video!! That's an awesome swaying zombie, that I'm gonna try to build, thank you for posting this. The 1st 10 sec of the video, ....scary!! 😄 Thank you for sharing ur secrets. Happy haunting
The 2x4's are directly mounted to the plywood base with 2.5 inch screws screwed from the bottom of the plywood into the 2x4 legs. You probably could brace them with angle brackets if you'd like, but for my zombie it wasn't necessary. As far as the shoes, I simply cut slits down the back heel and cut out a square hole into the soles of the shoe with a rotary tool with a spiral cutting bit. These then simply wrap around the 2x4 legs at the base and are screwed into the 2x4's from the rear.
Very cool prop. Love the motion. Couple questions for you.... so what are you using the attached the wiper motor also, the pvc spine, how is that attached to the crank arm of the motor?
Very cool. I gotta question about the base and his feet. Are the 2x4s mounted through the shoes onto the ply-board? How did you mount the 2x4s to the base for stability? Can you explain that part any better? Thanks!
I got all the things to build this except the power supply....can you tell me what volt and amp rating you used, I don't want to buy a controller.......any help would be appreciated ! Awesome build.
iowa chapman p.s great job, i am constructing one with pvc, and will probably do another with wood like you have here as I like that motion you get with the 2 holes.
This prop is so simple but yet over the top on effect. Totally brilliant! Bravo ! I am defiantly building this one.
Greg
How could anyone give this a thumbs down?. Its genius. Better than anything spirate has. Looks and moves great.

Brilliant. This is something I've been thinking about for this year. Thanks for the details.

Great prop! I am going to try to make one after watching your video. I have saved it to my favorites for reference. Thanks for the video.
Great movement, and great looking prop.

Thanks for the info!! I look forward to making one myself, thanks!!
That is a nice mech. and great movement. Its perfect! Is that a foam bib for all the brains he's eating! Thanks for sharing. LOL
Thanks for the excellent tutorial.
Very cool prop. Love the motion.
Couple questions for you....
so what are you using the attached the wiper motor

Awesome man. can't wait to make one.
Put this video on haunters hangout ( Facebook). I love this prop. Thank you.
This is really cool. Nice job.

Great use of a wiper motor. Where did you get the mask you are using?
Great job! I think I may have to make one myself now. Haha. Thanks for sharing

Cant wait to see yours in action. The version Souls of Forsaken made was awesome. Feel free to ask any questions if you have any.
Thanks for showing this!

Nevermind I built him with a 5 amp.....awesome he is👍
That's badass. Great job
That is awesome! I need to make something like this now!
great movement
So awesome!
Very awesome!
Looks good
Awesome !
I don’t know much about window washer motors how do you hook up wire to plug it in?
very cool!
That's right! I'm watching your how to video. lol!
Great build! I can't believe some Halloween companies are pricing these props for $1,200.00 and up, thank you for sharing with us!!!!!! ;}
Yeah I wish I had trademarked this. Im totally getting ripped off.
very cool
Where did you find the zombie head?
Nice
what are you using to mount that wipe motor?
iowa chapman p.s great job, i am constructing one with pvc, and will probably do another with wood like you have here as I like that motion you get with the 2 holes.
I’ll be honest, I’ve tried to build this prop several times and it’s never come out his good.
how are you powering the wiper motor ?
12 volt 5 amp power supply
