I don’t know how old Geten is but my theory is what if he’s Rei’s little brother? They do look alike and we’ve never seen Rei’s quirk in action yet? Maybe it’s the same
I would say more like cousin/nephew since he's under 20 and Rei is at least 20 years older than him. But them being siblings is still possible.

I only subscribe to theories that would be satisfying in the actual story, and considering his relationship with dabi, yes this is it chief. Also also, Bakugou taking on afo while deku and shigi recover in this upcoming arc is my favorite theory rn considering bakugou has no villain rival yet and with all might gone afo needs a new hero one. And yknow the whole afos fight with all might being the source of bakugous guilt and development as a person thing.
It’d be so cool if Dabi/Touya and Geten were cousins. And to have a battle with both their elemental quirks against Shoto & Endeavor.
Gettin is definitely a Himura because he spoke to dabi about how he didn’t go to school he saved hawks & tokoyami

I’m gonna add to this theory
What makes me think this theory is plausible is the fact that out of the entire liberation army, the only person we don’t get the last name of is Geten. We just get his name and alias (Iceman). But what makes me think that this theory isn’t true is this.
Geten’s eyes are blue while Rei’s are grey. If he was part of the Himura family I think it would be grey as well. Also, in the ultra analysis book, Geten is referred to as a young man and young people are 25 or younger meaning Geten is around Dabi’s age (24) so it wouldn’t be entirely possible he could be an uncle. Maybe a cousin.
Also, I think Geten’s role (just for the MVA arc) was just to parallel Dabi and be a challenge for him, the fact they both trained their quirks from a young age, the fact they are both the only long ranged fighters in the group, the fact that they both have elemental quirks etc.
But, it maybe would explain how/why Geten was training at a young age in the first place. And not even bothering to go to school. Maybe, he was part of the poorer side of Rei’s family and he went out to train his quirk or something like that.
This is a good take! Great points for both sides of it.
Regarding the eyes bit, I think it's still totally possible for him to be a Himura despite that since not all of the Todoroki kids got Endeavors blue eyes, Fuyumi & Natsuo got their mothers eyes, so however Geten is related to the Himura tree he may have gotten the alternative family member's eye color. If he is around Dabi's age that was around when they sold off Rei because they were poor so maybe he was at the fall of the Himura family, like the last child born under that name before they faded into obscurity?
The age thing isn't REALLY a huge issue, I don't think.

Quirk awakenings only happen when the user is on the brink of death or in an extremely desperate situation btw. (Not trying to be rude, just figured I could put my quarantine knowledge to use lol.)

I think it's pretty plausible that Rei and Geten's mother were 1st cousins, so Genten's Himura grandparent and Touya's Himura grandparent were siblings. Making Touya & Geten second cousins. This would explain his different eye color, as two generations of other eye DNA being mixed in would be possible and highly likely to get blue eyes (assuming the two non himura partners have blue eye genes- either recessive or dominant). Plus with his ice manipulation quirk, as in he has the ability to control the temperature of the water and turn it into ice, somewhere along the line one of his non himura parents or grandparents could have had a temperature manipulating quirk which combined with the original ice creation quirk coined by Himura, could have led to his limitations of altering instead of creating ice.
Your video has helped me out tremendously, as I'm in the middle of writing a novel based on an OC insert who is getens sister he doesn't know about (that parts a secret until towards the end of the book lol-oops).
My theory is that during the time of the fall of Himura, his parents were so desperate for money or security that they sold him and his crazy strong but uncontrollable quirk to re-destro. Win win for them both because Re -Destro was rich and powerful, and he could pretty much turn Geten into a human weapon for the MLA. Not too far fetched seeing as the Himuras basically sold Rei to Endeavor.
Anywhoo, the book is still in the writing process, and won't be released for another few months. But knowing there are others who think he's a Himura in some way shape or form has made my whole day!!

It is a very interesting theory. I like it. However it does bring up one question. Why has Rei never mentioned Geten to Shoto and the rest of her family? I guess one explanation is that she has a bad relationship with her family (makes sense since they sold her off), and probably does not like to talk about them. Fair enough. As for Geten, when he does return, I see him becoming a rival for Bakugo. He is a dark reflection of Bakugo, as he feels his quirk makes him superior and he looks down on others with weak quirks.

he's most certenlly a himura, not only from a logical lore perspective, but as you said, they hid his fface for quite a while so the autor thought that geten's face was valuable information we could use, so its basically 90% confirmed.

Love this analysis! You do an amazing job with this theory. I'd be curious to hear what you think (or if you've heard about) the Dabi is a secret hero theory?
The theory goes that Dabi is a vigilantly or hired by the Hero Safety Commission to infiltrate the LOV and break them down from the inside. Here are some cases in point.
1. He has no "flashy" crimes prior to joining the group.
2. Leading the VAS at the summer camp, Dabi doesn't really control the group in what to do. He could've used Mustard's gas with his fire to make a more devastating attack, but doesn't.
3. He lets Muscular hang out on a cliff and not in the forest to find Bakugo.
4. His fire didn't result in anyone getting hurt.
5. He saw Aoyama and didn't hurt him. (You can argue that he didn't see him but he totally did.)
6. His clone told Aizawa the Pros were not the target, which then led to Aizawa using Mandala's Quirk to warn the students.
7. Twice reminds him two times that he has a Nomu with CHAINSAWS for arms that responds only to his voice that he never uses.
8. His incomptence in leading the VAS led to three of the most dangerous members of the LOV being arrested.
9. He is seen by a civilian walking into the LOV headquarters in broad daylight, which directly leads to the attack by the pros. Meaning that if All for One didn't intervene, Shigaraki would have been arrested because of Dabi's action.
10. Gran Turino knocks him out when they are saying all the names of the villains. (Obviously this is so he doesn't burn Komui Woods, but it's convenient that he's knocked out of commission and won't be expected to fight against the pros. Maybe Gran Turino's in on it?
11. During the Overhaul arc, Dabi is noticeably absent as he's recruiting people, but he's really just burning and killing villains. Though murder is bad, he's still killing villains.
12. Dabi technically doesn't kill Snatch. He fights him, and their Quirks cancel each other out. It's not until Compress uses his Quirk that he dies when trapped with Dabi's flames. He also fails to take out a police car because of Snatch's sand prior.
13. Dabi doesn't gloat about killing Snatch. You think he would remember the name of the pro hero he killed since he was happy his killings of villains were gaining attention, but nope.
14. The Endeavor arc has Dabi in charge of High End. When he talks to Hawks about sending a pro and seeing Endeavor show up, why not back out from sending out High End? He knows how important this things is to the League. (Sure he wants to kill Endeavor, but he's also a cautious guy!)
15. He failed to retrieve High End's body which leads to more issues down the road.
16. AND it was this fight that reinstated the public's faith in heroes and Endeavor. AND it kickstarted Endeavor's redemption arc! DABI KICKSTARTED ENDEAVOR'S REDEMPTION!
There's also the fact that he's never really acting all family like with the rest of the league and always calling them names. So he doesn't like them and thinks lowly of them. I'm not sure why anyone trusts Dabi with these tasks when he's really messed everything up. Obviously there's the whole Hawks thing... but Hawks didn't really want to be a pro hero all that much and he does get out of it alive so...
IDK, this is long, but it would be a really interesting rabbit hole to fall under and see a video on!

I think this is one of side facts that are never confirmed but probably true. Like, in the Lord of the Rings, it is ambiguosly mentioned that Saruman bore a ring of power that he never used. Was it true? Most likely? Was it relevant to the plot? No. I believe same will happen to Geten Himura.
I hope he isn't related because for some reason I felt like shipping him with his counterpart (dabi) and to be honest they are the same. They want to train their quirks to the max, the have complete control over their quirks, the will do anything to complete their goals, they are both cold and distant, the only difference I could find was their powers and side effects but who knows geten might be having frostbites from and that's why he is wearing that coat

Basically an upgraded version of Shoto in every aspect. Blue flames instead of reds, without cooldown because his ice side can protect him unlike Dabi, and unlike Shoto he could actually manipulate the ice in a mayor grade and not just generate it.

Honestly I feel like all elemental type quirks (like fire and Ice as well as water, air, etc) would have to be more genetically passed. Even Dabi/Touya has stated that it was surprising that Endeavour or Shoto didn’t question how Dabi had a fire quirk while assuming they weren’t related.
Ever since I saw that Geten had white hair I’ve been thinking that he’s somehow related to Rei. Maybe he’s a brother or a family member that the Himura family didn’t like to talk about (like a ‘We don’t talk about Bruno’ kinda thing).
Would it also be a possibility that the reason why Geten would be practically disowned from the Himura family was because of its prominent social status? It’s also been stated by Enji himself that the Himura family were on the decline by the time Enji went to the family to propose the quirk marriage, whether socially or economically I’m not sure tho.
But if it *is* socially, maybe Geten did something that would “tarnish the family name” and “ruin their status in the public”.
-I also personally base my theory on the fact that my “simp for Rei’s relatives” alarm goes off whenever I see Geten on screen. With the only people I don’t simp for that are related to Rei being her father? Grandfather? Whoever was talking to Endeavour when Rei and Enji met, Enji and Rei herself.-

I think it could be cool but not now in the story. There were so many reveals at the end of PLW and the they weren’t really that good apart from Dabi. In like a year sure but I also doubt Geten will be that close in blood to the todorokis and more of an off shoot
