Yeah, like he is actually very intellectual. If you have read the Manga, when he was telling Bakugo in the bus that he has a bad personality, he used very complex words. Well, in the anime they made it more simple, but in the Manga even I had a hard time understanding 😂
He is basically the guy in highschool that really should be in standard classes but got into a honors class, and actually survives.

I'll add to this theory. What if he's positive side is not aware he has a negative side. And the Negative personality is aware of his positive side. So he Genuinely does not know he is the traitor.

What’s funny is that we really don’t know much about his background, and his room decoration was based on what “normal boys would usually like”
In ch 198, when Aizawa is giving feedback to the 1A team after their first match, he asks Kaminari “Does it take losing your allies for you to finally put your talents to use?” Now I could just be going insane but still...

@@hokai9878 yeah, especially with how much Horikoshi loves foreshadowing. Things that seemed small in the beginning of the story are now coming back and playing an important part in the plot (for example, Deku walking in on Gran Torino and screaming “Aahhh he’s dead!”, and then when he pops up Deku screams “Ahhh he’s alive!”, which we then see in the fight with Shigaraki where we all thought he died but somehow he’s still alive.) If Hori remembers, then a lot of those small things could definitely become bigger soon.

If Kaminari is the traitor, I always assumed that maybe he was trying to recruit villains as well. During the Joint Training Arc, he was particularly interested in befriending/gaining the trust of Shinsou, a student whose Quirk is known to have the most villain potential. If this was the case, I also think it'd be an interesting arc for Shinsou to reject Kaminari's offer to be a villain.
That's a really interesting point actually! I always thought Shinso would replace the member of Class 1-A that ended up being the traitor so that conversation between "The Hero who was dubbed a Villain" and "The Villain that played a Hero" is such a badass idea. I'm in love with that.
What a good observation, Kaminari always acts friendly but he also did the same with Bakugo (another "bad" boy in theory) and unlike Kirishima who was more clearly seen as the reason for making a connection with Bakugo, in the case of Kaminari he was almost out of nothing.
Shinso didn't wanna be a villain in the first place so... Yeah...

The split personality is a theory that makes sense and it connects with something that i found weird throughout MHA. Throughout the manga, everyone quirks weakness has evolved in their physical form:
- Izuku has found a way to use OFA without breaking his bones.
- Uraraka has increased the amount of weight she could use her quirk on.
- Todoroki has managed to get his body more used to the extreme temperatures of his quirk.
- Even freaking Mineta has managed to increase the number of balls he could throw.
And so on.
And then theres Kaminari. Now, im not saying Kaminari hasn't improved since the beginning, quite the contrary, he has managed to find a way to use his Quirk without hurting anyone, that being his support items. But thats the thing: he is the only one who needs to rely on his support item to actuall work properly, with the exception of Jiro, but Jiro quirk is more of a scouting position rather than Kaminari who is obviously an offensive quirk. I believe that when Kaminari fries his brain, the real Kaminari comes out, even if temporarily. When he goes into 'Wheeeey', thats the real Kaminari pretending to be dumb, so no one suspects him.
Kaminari is training in order to increase the limit his brain can take, but what if its the opposite and its allowing the other kaminari more time to take over until he can fully take over Kaminari?
At least thats my opinion.
That could be true, but I feel like Kaminari’s good and bad side is trying to keep all of his actions on the same page.
Well Kaminari also absorbed a massive surge of electricity during the war arc, and didn't seem to fry his brain at all during the fight. When Midnight said "think of who you want to protect the most" Kaminari thought of Jiro. Kaminari also saved every hero from being fried because he absorbed the electricity. Kaminari also seems to have a thing for electronics.
There are people with quirks that rely on equipment. Ida needs equipment to not overheat at fast speed too long, the hero with the gun, hero that sucks things at the first training arc through her suit. Most likely more. Present mic too

Him as a traitor doesn't really bother me that much, but thinking about his friends' reaction, specially jirou, bakugou and kirishima, make my heart ache.
Fr! Kaminari’s my favorite character so him being revealed as the traitor would be so cool from a storytelling perspective, but it would hurt my heart 😂
@@Victoria-_ Yeah I think it would be good storywise but also very traumatic for characters like Eijirou, Jirou and Kacchan. I d say especially Eijirou, coz he took Katsuki´s kidnapping the hardest, and ot find out one of his best pals was behind it....that d cause some serious damage to his mental health. Jirou too. As for Kacchan, I think he d just get pissed and get over it gradually, to be fair we can assume that he will have through the whole series probably a lot bigger problems than Kaminari being the traitor, but who knows, he has just learnt to trust people so it could actually affect him more.

so if kami is the traitor, everyone would be pretty upset, especially the bakusquad. but what about jirou? jirou would be the most impacted, since it was stated in the manga and hinted at in the anime, that jirou is the most important person to kami, thus developing or rather hinting at romantic feelings. in other words, kami being the traitor would break jirou.
Ikr talkinf about great story telling i would love to see this. I always thot kami way stronger than what we have seen. He could kill almost anyone with one attack. He can easily be deku lvl with his quirk bc you can do some crazy shit with lightning. Then his personality would change he would be more badass. Kinda like killua how he is friendly but he has that darker side would he can kill you with no problem. Like image kami with the Chidori killing a hero that would be lit.

What makes me love this theory is the fact that Denki would get a lot of screen time, we would get to really know him and his split personality as he grows up, and in my opinion he would have total control of his quirk and because of the UA training it would be n early impossible getting close to him without getting shocked
Honestly that was the main motivator behind this theory lol. Even tho now I sell more to the idea of Aoyama, this was essentially just because I think Kamniari is criminally underused in the story. Like he's got one of the coolest designs and powers and while his jokes are funny, for someone they market as heavily as the other MCs he is not nearly as relevant as them. I just thought it'd be cool if he was a villain

I got the theory that Denki works with AFO but not because he wants, I think that he's part of a yakuza family like Overhaul and he has the mission to be infiltrated in UA, but he ended up loving and caring about Jirou, Kirishima, Bakugou and all of his friends and now that the families of the class are living in UA the yakuza and AFO are planing to attack UA (Denki's parents are part of the yakuza too) he needs to decide if he's going to continue the mission or he's going to betray his family to save his classmates, if my theory is true I think that Denki can already control his split personality (the negative side is his powerful side), so if he decides to betray the yakuza we can see a pretty op Kaminari

I definitely agree with theory. As much as I don't want to believe it, Kaminari is arguably the character with the most potential to be the UA traitor. However, at 13:17, I do agree that Kaminari isn't actually performing the Meta Liberation Army signal with his hands or anything, but in the Meta Liberation arc, during the fight between Toga and Curious (specifically in chapter 226), Curious uses her left hand to make the make the Liberation sign -- just like Kaminari. This might be a bit of stretch, but I thought I needed to say this.
It could actually be something they train the undercover operatives to do so if they slip up it looks like a coincidence or even mockery to keep cover
This is the first kaminari is the u.a. Traitor that I like. I will put my tinfoil hat and say that aoyama is the counter spy. I think his character is super observant and has been working as a counter spy for principal nezu. It explains the cheese that he gets!

If Kaminari were to prove himself the traitor, it would be interesting from a narrative point of view and also to see the reaction of his closest friends (Jirou, Kirishima and Bakugo). Then Horikoshi is a good writer, all the little clues he leaves us, seem insignificant but nothing is random, you have to be able to grasp the details.
I think that somebody should start to suspect Kaminari and call him out when their either alone or in a crowd basically exposing him, I know it kinda cliche but in my perspective I think it would be cool.

If Kaminari is the traitor there is a possibility that his quirk is much more powerful than what we have seen, perhaps at the level of the best electrical users in anime, if that is true he may be the villain who fights hand in hand with current Deku that is one of the strongest characters of Boku no Hero, a fight between Kaminari with an OP quirk vs Deku with OFA would be one of the best fights of the entire series

I just always found 2 things weird about him.
1. He has probably the best quirk in the entire 1st year class, making triple the amount of electricity a house uses in a day in one attack. Then he recovers from it in like 20 minutes and can do it again.
Practically all electricity users are over powered in anime, yet they Literally sleep on the character with the most potential.
2. His confidence is uncanny. He’s always making jibes at Bakugo, and even went as far as to sit next to him at the sports festival when everyone else scooted away from him. Even kirishima sat like 2 seats away.
2. His face whenever he uses his attack, is probably just as unhinged and wild as Bakugo’s.

The split personality theory is really interesting and is the first time I hear about it, but a theory I have is that Hagakure could be the traitor because she is invisible. Now what I mean by that is that she was born with that quirk “invisibility” but she doesn’t like it so she got into contact with All for One so that he can remove her quirk, but AFO uses that by making her be the spy and will take away her quirk after she has helped the villains. We never see her fight the villains at all, I mean it’s just a theory and I could be completely wrong but that’s what theorizing is for. Anyways I really liked the Kaminari theory keep up the good work! 👍
I have seen theories that invisibility is not merely a joke but to hide something in its appearance that is relevant to the something in the story.

I do actually agree with this theory because at the attack of USJ, she wasn’t shown with Todoroki, although that doesn’t mean much but when she said that she was with him but if you search up where all the characters where during the attack. In fact, it puts where she was as *unknown* ,just like Aoyama. So who knows what she could have been doing with the villains during that time
This makes sense, but I looked it up and Hagurakes invisibility is her mutation, meaning it can't be fully removed from her body. But hey, this is all for one were talking about. the guy can do almost anything.

The most extroverted character in the whole series, also has a quirk that makes it extremely difficult to borderline impossible at time to fight alongside his comrades. Perhaps a piece of irony thats also ironic to him being a traitor amongst a group he cares for?
Additionally, on the recent posture picture for the new movie, Deku, Bakugo, and Todo each pose like a villian that’s closest related to them. Deku poses like Shigaraki, Todo poses like Dabi, and odd enough, Bakugo does Kaminari’s signature pose, which may be another hint towards Kaminari being the traitor

I love the idea of Kaminari being an uncontrollable two-face with a drive on wether or not to become a villain or to stay close to his friends. His duality could bring a whole new aspect to a villain that we can actually sympathize with since he wouldn’t know if he should stay as a villain or keep his friendships.

I personally love this theory and this video perfectly describes the theory. If he is the traitor the that would lead to some great moments in the series and I would love to see how the characters would react to him as the traitor, Jirou in my opinion would be affected the worst she would be heartbroken, Mineta would be depressed knowing that he lost his only friend, Aizawa would also be depressed knowing that he lost one of his students and that he couldn’t tell he was in trouble and I have sense Bakugo would be also pretty crushed by his betrayal knowing full well that he let someone get to him and befriend him when Bakugo is clearly the most observant of the class, also the whole school would pretty much hate class 1a for having a traitor. Denki would also be in some big trouble and if him being the traitor is the endgame and that he would have to fight his friend I think he’d ultimately return to the side of good and probably have to sacrifice himself probably even killing a member of the league in the crossfire. If he isn’t and there is no traitor I’m fine with it but I’d be kinda bummed.

I am SO down for this theory man.. Seriously, when I first read the title of this video I was like, 'oh shit man a kaminari traitor theory now, despite all that's happened in the manga? Despite how hard he's fought to keep his classmates safe, his development as a hero possibly ruling him out as a suspect? I NEED to hear this...." and I was NOT disappointed.
I never even thought about the whole scientific side to his quirk... It makes complete sense.... and in terms of what we've learned about quirks and how they biologically affect the characters so far, it would fit absolutely PERFECTLY with the timing of everything.. what I mean is... As you've explained, recently Horikoshi has delved into the argument that quirks tend to have a biological effect on the personality of the character, Toga and Shigaraki being great examples, which means it would be perfect timing for Horikoshi to explain the mental side of quirks as well... After the war arc, and after all of the quirk explanations for various characters have been shown (how OFA works, how Toga's quirk affected her life, how Touya's flames are tied to his emotions and the effect of quirk marriages in children, ect.) it would make sense for Horikoshi to reveal Kaminari as the traitor, the final piece in explaining how quirks affect human society.... The idea of Kaminari having a split personality thanks to his quirk.. a story similar to the rest of the LOV.... the specific moments you've pointed out that make so much more sense now in that context... Even if you do say there may be some inconsistencies, I'd say your Kaminari traitor theory is the most solid argument I've heard so far.

Tbh we still don’t know what happened so he might still somehow be involved same as aoyama those 3 have the most evidence AND there was this artwork for aoyama and I still can’t get over the fact kaminari used 1.3 million bolts without going dumb so it must have been put in for a reason. So to sum it up I think all 3 of them (hagakure) have something involved with villains. (I think aoyama is forced to stay quiet)

Hagakure and Jiro weren't there, which is why the league of villains were caught off guard. There's the point where Hakagure lured Izuku to the mall to get ambushed by Shigurashi.

Anyway that’s just my prediction, I’m sure horikoshi has a good reason for hagaukre being the traitor even if she was irrelevant for most of the story, so we just have to keep reading and find out. ✌️
