I think we can all agree that this was the Undertaker's last great WrestleMania match(excluding Boneyard). I don't feel Punk would've been the right choice to end the streak but I think it would've kept him in the company. What did you think of this feud and the match?
Fuck that, Superfly Snuka vs The Undertaker... Cause I believe that Superfly Snuka was the first victim of Wrestler's Court. Either Superfly done way too much coco before his matches or, that time he murdered his girlfriend during that time, Nancy Argentino... Now that's why Snuka vs The Undertaker is the BEST match up.
Before AJ, this was truly Undertaker's last great WrestleMania match. Punk was biggest heel in WWE. The story between the two was based on mind games. Punk and Taker gave the world an instant classic.
Imagine if Punk had ended the streak here and he still went on to quit when he did. There would have been so much egg on WWE's face they would still be wiping it off today.
He got fired on his wedding day. He didn't quit. He talks about it in an interview. Not your fault though you didn't know. The interview is really great though, you should watch it
Definitely Taker's last great match. There's good story behind it and they all played the part to perfection. Punk at his heel's best & Taker is on revenge mode. I still think this was one of the best match in PG era. The build up, promos, & segments to this match was top notch. Lastly, the match itself was amazing. The best match of WM 29 & one of the best match in 2013. Can't believe it was 8 years ago.
Cm Punk and Undertaker feud was amazing and the match at mania was good too and it was special because it was undertakers last match win at mania before his streak got broken at WM 30
Just want to say thank you for your content! I recently moved to a new city by myself and I feel overwhelmed with being alone. But your videos bring good memories and help me stay positive thank you again.
Mohawk era undertaker was always fragile and old looking however this feud with punk seemed to rejuvenate him. Maybe it was the late Paul bearer or just punks star helping
After Punk had this amazing match with Taker and took time off. Came back and did the job to Lesnar....He was pretty much gone at that point. You could see it in his eyes if you just go back and watch his performance's after Summer Slam 2013.
Punk needed more time after WM29 to return, listening to Colt Cabana podcast, it was unfair and u could tell he just wasn’t the same, even returning as a baby face I didn’t like it, always a heel mentality he suited I think
With The Undertaker and Kane being my two favorite wrestlers of all time, Paul Bearer is obviously my favorite manager of all time, so I used to think it was disrespectful that they made his death part of the storyline, but now I realize I was 100% wrong: this is EXACTLY what He would have wanted.
I remember being a huge CM Punk fan back then and i hated that match so much, like bruh he got pinned after the People's Elbow, not even a Rock Bottom and that's pretty much when I started watching wrestling less lmao
@@Toguro45 I agree and it was just selfish and wrong of The Rock to not put Punk over, and he's known for that. Which is why I don't put him as part of my legends book. I'm never hyped when he returns the only time I was hyped, was his first one in 2011
@@panashe5268 I'm more pissed that he actually agreed to not only win the championship but then retain it at elimination chamber only so something was on the line for Dwayne Vs John part 2. Undertaker beating Punk at WrestleMania and winning WWE championship at the same time is way better, then maybe 4-5 months later Taker loses to Orton or idk?
@@topboy3269 I’m not, I understand where you’re coming from but I’m sure Dwayne made hundreds of thousands if not millions from that match, he has a family to feed. I agree I don’t think he should’ve taken the belt from CM Punk but do you think people would’ve really been that excited for the same match a year later? putting the belt on the line turned eyes and made people pay more attention because something was on the line. John Cena being like “you hurt my feelings, rematch” just wouldn’t do enough. End of the day blame Vince, Dwayne got handed an opportunity and he did what anybody would do. Blame the creative team who even made that an option
I was a "Pen-Pal" with William Moody (Paul Bearer), and I can tell you from talking to him as extensively as I did, that he would have fully approved being used in this storyline. He loved the business, and he loved Mark Callaway (Undertaker). Being utilized after his passing for one last storyline is something he would have loved. I was fortunate enough to not only have him as a Pen-Pal, but my wife and I got to meet him at a local event where he signed autographs, and took a picture with us. He even brought up our e-mails during our conversation when I told him who I was. It's very rare when you can call a celebrity a legitimate "friend", but I can certainly say that about him. He was a great person, very kind, humble and soft spoken (outside of the wrestling world). I honestly miss being able to chat with him. Rest in Peace, my friend. You've earned it.
They should’ve let CM Punk run with his idea of building up the match even more punk was one hell of a wrestler really sad he stopped wrestling in wwe after 2013
This is the match that made me love CM Punk's work in the ring. He since became my favorite wrestler. I was rooting for Punk because I thought Undertaker was the bad guy. Overall excellent match up there with Punk vs Cena and Punk vs Lesnar.
For the wcw ecw tna ppv thing I would say review I think 2008/2009 sacrifice, the one where Samoa joe has a 33.3 chance of winning against Scott Steiner at sacrifice
CM Punk should’ve beat The Rock at Royal Rumble 2013. Then CM Punk Vs John Cena in the Main Event with John Cena finally getting over CM Punk. While The Rock Vs Brock Lesnar with The Rock going over would’ve been a perfect night ‼️
this feud waa great and the killer promos from punk and breaking kayfabe with paul bearer...this feud is underrated as I barely hear people speak about it
I don't know how in the hell Taker and Kane got thru that Bearer angle. Obviously all parties agreed to it and more than likely Bearer would've loved it, but it's different when you're in the moment and Punk/Heyman were relentless as hell. I lowkey liked Punk's entrance more than Taker's which was iconic on its own. At this point I was completely tuned out of wrestling aside from the occasional headline, and Taker's streak always made news. Seeing Taker go from Trips to Punk without context is surreal... that's literally like Tom Brady going from the Pats to the Bucs, with all due respect to Punk. I see where Punk was coming from... other than the Bearer angle there wasn't much Punk had on Taker. It just looked like some old vigilante going ham on a Final Fight goon. Sidebar: the Network took down WM24 I think... that Edge match is my favorite Streak match.
I mean there was no way of knowing that match would be as fire as it was, not even with such brilliant wrestlers involved. Usually, I would agree that it shouldn't have main evented, but then again, it shouldn't have happened in the first place. In my opinion, having Rock vs Cena as the main event again was a ridiculously terrible decision. Everyone knew how it was gonna end, the main event paled in comparison to the match that preceded it the way that Triple H vs Jericho did at WrestleMania 18. So once the decision to go with Rock vs Cena for a second time and making it obvious who was gonna leave Mania with the title, I believe having the WWE title match go first to use the star power and big match atmosphere to get the crowd hyped, and then top it off with the classic streak allure with the excitement of not knowing whether it may actually end that night (especially when you know it's the main event that effect would probably be even stronger, it makes you guess whether they want to create the biggest closing moment in WrestleMania history) would've been the much better choice.
As great a match as this was I still think they could’ve done Rock vs Taker and Punk vs Cena for the title. Given around 15 minutes Rock and Taker could’ve still put on a good match in 2013, and that Punk/Cena match from Raw would’ve been even more epic as a Wrestlemania main event- and Punk did deserve a Wrestlemania main event at that time. Unfortunately they had Rock vs Cena 2 planned even before Wrestlemania 28 and decided it needed the title on the line too. That feud was great in 2012 but they’d already used up their best promos/ideas and it just felt flat in 2013 (as did their match).
