I actually shed a tear when you said you felt sad that nobody was really interested in your business because I currently feel discouraged about my business! I too struggle with confidence in myself and I’m a little scared of rejection which makes me hesitant to approach people and promote my business but you have inspired me to keep pushing!
I completely understand, it's hard to gain self confidence, and in the beginning my cakes and cookies were not super pretty and nice BUT i found the hunger of wanting to be better. Don't get discouraged, keep going, keep trying, and don't ever let anyone bring you down, always move forward and learn along the way. Im happy that my video has inspired you a bit and I am excited to see how your business grows :)
I almost shed a tear when you were telling the part of your Husband in your story. It's so beautiful to have a faithful partner on your side that sees beyond you and believes strongly in you. I'm SO GRATEFUL for my Husband... I haven't even started my business but because of Him I've already perfected cheesecake art and now moving to elegant mousse art then I'll start taking orders. Omg girl I literally cried watching your video. I can definitely relate. I started in September of 2019 with a cupcake sale. And from there my business grew. My husband didn’t believe in it in the beginning but after I sold out he was in shocked and became my right hand man lol now we both have our small business from home and blessed to say that it all began with a cupcake.

Yes girl! I felt this in my soul! I live in Odessa and I started my party decor business here. I don't make cakes but I make other treats. I remember that exact feeling of where you want to try to get business and when someone takes you up on it, you kind of freak out and back out of it. I had that exact feeling you did. So it made total sense to me. This video is very inspiring. I'm about 2 years into my business now and I love it.

Hi. I know this is an old video, but I am looking to start selling cakes, I only make for friend and family now so I’m doing research to begin selling outside of that and I came across this video. I want you to know this has helped give me confidence. I felt your sadness so much because I have been there before with friends and family , having so much cake or cupcakes left and feeling like no one wants your product. I used to make cupcakes for family and friends and had people asking if I would do it as a business…and like you said you tried to back out…well I did back out. I really loved baking and making special cupcakes. I got creative with the flavours and decorating them. I don’t do it much now…but thinking to get back into it.

So nice and sweet of you to be sharing this to everyone..Im baking as well for children and families and been watching youtube tutorials on baking cakes and cupcakes.. i have a big voice inside me pushing me to do it and some part of me as well is saying the “what if’s..” haha Thank you for sharing this to me Im hoping too that i can do this full time and make a good living out of it too. I love baking But sometimes things can get frustrating around it.. But the good thing in there is that I keep pushing like i have more love for it than hate haha.. i wish you well in life and in your cake business!

I have always had an interest in cooking/baking, especially cakes! I remember in 5th grade, I would always play this cake decorating game on the computer and at that time I had no idea it could be a real job! I’m finally gonna take plunge into a cake business(starting out in the side)! Wish me luck!

I’ve been baking for almost a year I think every last one of us has been in your shoes ! Confidence and consistency is key to make it I have a handful of cakes I’ve made I think are tv worthy lol aswell but getting orders are hard I’m now thinking about baking 200 cupcakes with my cards an just passing them out to everyone I come in contact with! I want more orders not just from friends an family !!!

I love love loveee your story your work is amazing 😍 im on the part where you are saying something about the moisture of the cake if you want to always secure that part add a little sour cream to your cakes it will be perfect but i am just starting off i still have so much to learn i am overwhelmed with my customers i am in an area where a lot of people dont have money or just dont see the point of spending money on cakes i had a huge boom in the beginning its only been 8 months since ive started but i lost a lot of customers since i raised my prices and only because i wasnt profiting anything at all so now im just taking my time and trying to re brand myself and find a new customer base

Awww I can so relate!!! I started a small cake pop business and a candy cart business...it’s steady, but I feel like I can do so much more. I have only had one paid cart rental and I feel discouraged. Hopefully people can see my vision someday... 😔 I work full time paralegal and maybe I’m hoping to leave my full time career!!!

I had a similar experience with a vanilla cake recently and it honestly almost broke me but I’ve chosen to soldier on cos I want to quit my job to do this so I had to keep it moving.
