Yes. Professor madam. This is the time of inventing history at the cost of real factual history by silencing real historians. But now this task of creating stories as history is difficult in this age of technology and communication.

She has been proved to have written doctored history by the new generation of historians. It is not a question of history being used in politics but is a matter of what is closest to historical truth. Is the version of history she has written politically motivated. It would be interesting if a debate is initiated between her and the young historians, although I wonder whether at her age she'll be up for it.

Well this presentation reiterates the same thoughts which have been nursed and proliferated across 7decades as 'history'. The serious questions pertaining to historiography are still left unanswered as the common technique of picking up the illustrations from the advantageous resources and consciously ignoring or hiding the evidence from other sources is still persistent. To provide one example, the issue of interfaith marriage (particularly among the royal households in medieval times) is mentioned and various possible reasons are also discussed. But while providing the examples, the Mughal princes marrying Hindu (rajputh dominantly) princesses are cited. But no single evidence of Mughal rulers giving their daughters to Hindu princes as a symbol of reciprocity of goodwill or political benefit. And follows the grand conclusion that there were no forceful interfaith marriages at all. Where is the genuinity in such discourses?

What else can you expect from pre-conceived, ignoramus Scholars??
Also, the people who come into a culture has to adapt, not the other way around ,which is happening to this day.
These characters are pseudo intellectuals with privileged background. On their own , their achievements would amount to little. Talk to them for a while, I will have across a few, their association with St. Stephen's, IIT, Harvard, all will drop from their mouth.

Vikram Sampath please. Let’s have Romila respond to his findings on Khilji and Somnath and how she distorted history on that. There are very specific points that right wing historians have raised like the above; she needs to respond to each one with data to regain some confidence. Else it’s just her English that will get admiration

Romila thapar - Niether an archaeologist nor a learned scholar of Sanskrit. Her primary sources are hindu texts translated by Max muller. And who was Max ? He was British servant and an evangelist who was made to write indian history by translating hindu texts. And he wrote a letter to his wife while translating the texts - " I am doing god's work, i wil make them hate their own religion and culture so they they eventually accept christ".
You can google - Max muller letter to his wife about indian texts translations

Kindly explain this Max Muller quote from 1883 then-"If I were to look over the whole world to find out the country most richly endowed with all the wealth, power, and beauty that nature can bestow-in some parts a very paradise on earth-I should point to India. If I were asked under what sky the human mind has most full developed some of its choicest gifts, has most deeply pondered on the greatest problems of life, and has found solutions of some of them which well deserve the attention even of those who have studied Plato and Kant-I should point to India. And if I were to ask myself from what literature we, here in Europe, we who have been nurtured almost exclusively on the thoughts of Greeks and Romans, and of one Semitic race, the Jewish, may draw that corrective which is most wanted in order to make our inner life more perfect, more comprehensive, more universal, in fact more truly human, a life, not for this life only, but a transfigured and eternal life-again I should point to India."

Max Müller is a Vedantist of Vedantists. He has, indeed, caught the real soul of the melody of the Vedanta, in the midst of all its settings of harmonies and discords - the one light that lightens the sects and creeds of the world, the Vedanta, the one principle of which all religions are only applications. And what was Ramakrishna Paramahamsa? The practical demonstration of this ancient principle, the embodiment of India that is past, and a foreshadowing of the India that is to be, the bearer of spiritual light unto nations. The jeweller alone can understand the worth of jewels; this is an old proverb. Is it a wonder that this Western sage does study and appreciate every new star in the firmament of Indian thought, before even the Indians themselves realise its magnitude?
