- Bjarne Riis is one of the biggest dopers in cycling history. Thanks to the help of Dr. Luigi Cecchini and his personal doping with EPO, he defeated Miguel Induráin and Jan Ullrich in the Tour de France, and as a director he managed to get monsters like Birillo to win the Giro d'Italia as well. Now retired, he tries to warn Jonas Vingegaard about his duel against Tadej Pogacar in the Tour de France 2024. The Dane, always a Dane, is going to have a hard time if he doesn't follow the advice of our friend from the channel...

pro sports are branches of the advertising and entertainment industries... the hero athlete storyline sells. the doped athlete storyline is too cold and weird for most people to rally behind. a good example of the storyline being everything was the Sepp Kuss Vuelta win. It was a good story for Sepp to win the GC even though his alien teammates showed they could have pedaled backwards up the mountains in spain without being winded at the finish. CSC was a good story team for years too. I always liked their style.
So what's the deal with these blood passports? Are there parents/coaches who prepare the talents before they become professionals? Creating a hematocrit of 48,49 on the passport, laying the foundation for a career of doping? How do they dope nowadays? Lots of barely traceable mini doses?
Vingegaard got into cycling late, same as Roglic. So they made the passport fully doped.
Here in the Bay Area, it was BALCO and ‘The Clear’ (Barry Bonds) which was legal then, but lying about it was not? THG was not considered a steroid (until Jan 2005) - Yahoo Sports - Johnathan Littman Jan 2009

Yes, he was doped as well as anyone in top 20. - It's to easy to be the wise man today. I don't judge him any harder than the other riders. But I dislike the situation they all were in.

Would everyone get a benefit from taking some of these drugs, let’s say, for a 6 month period only? If it would heighten your body physically, couldn’t that in turn, raise someone’s psyche? Help to get them out of a funk or even depression?

@@lesliepropheter5040 I think it often worked the other way round, athletes get addicted to the feeling of being on these drugs The drugs would allow you to train at a higher level, which will of course have an impact on your body in time. Going off the drug will not reverse your physique.

Jonas is a doper though my guy, deal with it. Just see the facts. Jumbo Visma created his blood passport late. His TT last year was impossible clean 7.8w/kg over the whole TT when you never finish in top 10 on any TT. He will probably be miraculously recovered for the Tour again. Impossible without serious illegal meds. He's training away from his team because he's with his best friend Rasmussen.

Let us not rush to judgment here. You are innocent until proven guilty. So far Jonas has never failed a doping test or shown any suspicious behaviour that he had or is using doping. Same goes with Pogacar and the other riders. Show me strong solid evidence of doping, THEN and only then will I believe it. Good video as always, keep them coming:)

During the Giro, Pogi went up a mountain two minutes quicker than the previous tour record. The record was a time trial, Pogi recorded this after over 100k in his legs. Equivalent to Insane Bolt doing a half marathon before running a 9.49
