I've seen on another Boro RUclips channel that someone has seen Riley McGree and he's fit and has been right to go for a few weeks. Don't know how accurate this information was, but he never went and played in the international break. So he had a good recovery time.
To be fair, he is now back in the matchday squad so he must be fit to a point. My question is why would Michael Carrick put him on the bench if he wasn't fit enough to come on even for 10/15 mins? Surely you'd leave him out of the squad entirely if he wasn't fit and if he was, you'd definitely bring him on as one of our better players!
Completely agree mate. If McGree is fit he has to play, and if he isn’t, why is he on the bench? The system just doesn’t work without him. Carrick tries to play the other left sided players in that McGree role, but none of them work there
Hey Phil.... If McGree has fallen out of favour with the management or coaching staff and not playing due to that, then this is detrimantal to the team and also a shame for the fans as he is a major parr of that midfield. Hopefully this is not the case and it's just a case of just regaining full fitness. Sure am looking forward to seeing Riley in the engine room very shortly like us all. UTB. 🔴⚪
The word coming out of the club is that he is being eased back to full fitness. There's no reason not to believe them, but if he doesn't feature in the next week then questions will surely be asked.
I'm not sure I agree as generally speaking, he has us performing well. I do agree that he perhaps needs to improve when it comes to managing a game and seeing out a result.
found it very frustrating us trying to pass around sunderland and in other games this season. Teams set up a low block against us and we really struggle as we have no plan B. Its a shame cause theres some real quality in the squad. Thanks for your reply mate UTB
Should Riley McGree start against Stoke City? 🤔

Definitely mate. I think fans want to see a few changes for tomorrow and McGree would be a popular inclusion!

McGree has just signed a new contract so I find it hard to credit it is anything but injury.
Been raelly disapointed in Latte Lath, since his failed move he looks off the pace
You seem to have a Yorkshire accent mate, how come you’re Boro ?
@antonyware9887 grew up in Yarm, lived in London for a few years and now live in Tyneside - think it has messed with my accent 😅
@@philspencerfootball nothing wrong with your accent. Very northern and Yorkshire. Boro were formerly North Yorkshire
@@philspencerfootball Boro have a big catchment area of potential support when you include Hartlepool and Darlo
We need both McGree and Howson back in the middle. Hackney is disappointing so far. He needs better around him.
I agree - Howson and McGree have been big misses in Middlesbrough's midfield.
i dont think we will move any further forward with michael carrick as he is too one dimensional in his style of play.
