The video was edited, the police say he fired first, but dont show the actual footage of everything up until they point they fired. Also, they werent dressed as officers or in marked vehicles. They also didnt say "police," they just ordered him out of the vehicle. Who is to say the young man did not fear for his life? He very well may have been a criminal, but none of us know that yet, so the ones backing the police are doing that solely on their biases against black men and readiness to believe everything the police say.

Nice that i didn't hear them mention that he was already out on nominal bail for having a gun. Nice that they didn't mention that he shot at the officer first. Not at the officer at his drivers window, but the officer at the passengers window. He not only shot at the officer but struck him in the wrist. At that point, he was a dangerous combatant that had already shot an officer, and was more than willing to commit another act of violence. He had a gun, and a car. His actions led to his death. Its a shame that they bust out the graduation photo making it seem like he was an innocent man that the police gunned down. He should have known better than to carry a gun right after he was arrested for carrying one in the first place. He should have complied with the commands. I had my court papers on me and complied as they asked me to step out and put me in cuffs. I politely told them my side and told them where my court papers were and they were able to conform everything from the police station and I was released. Awe how that works. I’m alive. The victim was a human being. 96 bullets irregardless off the circumstances should be unacceptable in any form. There are two many questions thats unanswered. Why was he alledged pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt, and pulled over by non uniform officers. Another question is why was he continued shot after he got out off the car and was lying on the ground helpless. There are to many unexplained questions that have uncertainty to a certain point of views. And this do needs indept investigations. These were plain clothed police officers in an unmarked unit. My only question is did he really know that these were actually cops or did he think he was getting carjacked? The video was edited, the police say he fired first, but dont show the actual footage of everything up until they point they fired. Also, they werent dressed as officers or in marked vehicles. They also didnt say "police," they just ordered him out of the vehicle. Who is to say the young man did not fear for his life?
He very well may have been a criminal, but none of us know that yet, so the ones backing the police are doing that solely on their biases against black men and readiness to believe everything the police say.

Nice that i didn't hear them mention that he was already out on nominal bail for having a gun. Nice that they didn't mention that he shot at the officer first. Not at the officer at his drivers window, but the officer at the passengers window. He not only shot at the officer but struck him in the wrist. At that point, he was a dangerous combatant that had already shot an officer, and was more than willing to commit another act of violence. He had a gun, and a car. His actions led to his death. Its a shame that they bust out the graduation photo making it seem like he was an innocent man that the police gunned down. That is completely and utterly false and i'm tired of that kind of narrative. They say he should still be alive and that is 100% true. He should have known better than to carry a gun right after he was arrested for carrying one in the first place. He should have complied with the commands. He should NOT have raised his gun and fired at and struck an officer. Everything that happened was the result of his actions and he didn't have to die. He would have gotten a lot more time because of the double gun charge, but he would have been alive. Everyone should be calling out criminals and not making excuses all the time. All of our actions are OUR decisions and ours alone.

I’m a white fuel in Texas. I had a warrant out I didn’t know about because when I went to court and had it reset, the judges staffers called my bonding company and said I was forfeited for not showing when it was another Michelle with the same name who didn’t show. Cops watched my home. Followed me when I left and pulled me over for having a coverin around my back plates that went over the top 1/4 inch of the word Texas and apparently that was against the law They only got petty to pull me over for the warrant. I had my court papers on me and complied as they asked me to step out and put me in cuffs.
I politely told them my side and told them where my court papers were and they were able to conform everything from the police station and I was released.
Awe how that works.

The victim was a human being. 96 bullets irregardless off the circumstances should be unacceptable in any form. There are two many questions thats unanswered. Why was he alledged pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt, and pulled over by non uniform officers. This is ridiculous...Reed didn't give the cops a chance to explain why he was stopped...his immediate actions of wearing the sketchy mask, rolling up his dark windows...it placed those officers lives in danger, yet the cops kept their cool, of course yelling commands as Reed continued to disobey every command, and then Reed shot first! My prayers go out to the officer that may have a career ending injury by a bullet going straight into his forearm breaking his bone in half, and the other injured cop that no one seems to be talking about that had his inner leg bleeding (that my first thought was femoral artery - but it was not ). Reed is dead because of Reed. I don't know if this is true but I heard Reed fired 11 times which is 10% of the bullets fired...this is lunacy to be blaming the cops! Maybe its time that every child in middle school must take a mandatory 8 hour class on "what not to do when approached by police"!!!!! "He was scared"...my a**! Stop the video and look at Reed's eye's...that was not fear. The look was "F*** you cop, I'm gonna do as I please"!
At the time of the shooting, Cook County court records showed Reed was out on pretrial release after being charged in 2023 with three counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and one count of possession of a firearm with a revoked FOID card. He had appeared in court in person days before the shooting and was next scheduled for a status hearing in April.

These were plain clothed police officers in an unmarked unit. My only question is did he really know that these were actually cops or did he think he was getting carjacked?

I think his mother has a point that when he sees all of these people who are not wearing police uniforms with guns surrounding his car that he could be scared for his life and he fired in what he thought was self-defense.
