    Just replaced my fuel pump for no reason lol. It’s okay though bc old cars could always use fresh parts. Came out to be my Camshaft sensor and Crankshaft sensor. Replace those and then wahlaa 🪄. Ancel AD310 told me exactly what the issue was would definitely recommend to anyone

      What year is your E36?

    • @HawkEyesAndy
      @HawkEyesAndy 2 года назад

      one of the first things i would check, this cars are known to have starting failures resulting from bad camshaft and crankshaft sensors

    my 1997 e39 M52B28's new fuel pump, fuel filter, camshaft Position sensor as well crank sensor didn't help. Reused old stock camshaft. Cleaning fuel injector to spray atomize vapor brought back quick start .

    Hey i hope you can help me, im lost at the moment. tried the things you did in your video, one thing that failed is I tested the fuel pump using test light, im not getting current. Tested the ground, its good. I bridged the pin in the relay, pump not energised. I jumped the fuel pump, it works. What could be the issue here? I replaced the crank sensor too, nothing changed. My only suspect is I have a break in the wiring to the fuel pump

    Were you able to verify a ignition coil spark? And starter fluid to see if it would start as far as fuel deliveries concern

    • @Dylan_Draper
      @Dylan_Draper  2 года назад

      Yes, I eventually confirmed spark was present and fuel was being delivered (I have a few other videos following along the troubleshooting).

    Usually the cam and crank sensors go out hand in hand and if it was obd2 it would have told you most likely too what the problem was.. that obd1 life trust me I know I’m living it lol

    2:52 so that's the normal fuel pressure?
    Mine is not squirting that much. Maybe I have to try to replace the fuel pump and filter

    Hopefully you get it running man my e46 was a pain in the ass. What wheels are those though?

    • @Dylan_Draper
      @Dylan_Draper  3 года назад +1

      I did finally get it to fire over (covered in a later video in more detail). Essentially, the rings were stuck and the car had low compression.

      The wheels are Mille Miglia MMII’s (17x8.5 et13). Currently have them listed for sale! (Located in PA).

    I have the same issue, i bought a m50 single vanos from a crashed e36 1993 and swapped it in my e30. The engine cracks but doesn’t start, fuel pump and all lights in the dash work no spark on the coils however

    My brothers car has compression and gas but he don't have a spark tester and no place to ground it

    • @Dylan_Draper
      @Dylan_Draper  3 года назад

      Remove one of the front 2 coil packs and spark plug. With the coilpack plugged in, push the spark plug against the coil pack boot and somewhere on the passenger front inner fender well (one of the top struts nuts works well if you can manage to reach it). Then crank the car over and look to see if the plug is sparking.

    • @Dylan_Draper

      That’s assuming it’s an e36…

  • @topnews1007
    @topnews1007 3 года назад +1

    Looks like you need new coils and spark plugs, the water destroyed them
    Cam , exhaust and crank sensors can not be made in China also your coil packs.
    You have to pay to play

    • @Dylan_Draper
      @Dylan_Draper  3 года назад

      The main reason for not starting ended up being stuck rings, however I did have at least a dead dme at one point.

      @@Dylan_Draper How were you able to determine this? Compression test? I would have guessed CPS, dealing with a similar issue. CPS on order

    Hello try changing the engine computer

    • @Dylan_Draper
      @Dylan_Draper  2 года назад +1

      In a later video, I did swap in and even tested spare DME’s in another car. The culprit for this crank no start issue ended up being low compression from stuck piston rings.
