Just hook it straight up like normall to existing ebike controller just stay under 62v and you can use any 18v in series or 60v power tool battery combo,no issues
Agreed! Something else to keep in mind while riding ebikes are helmets, most people wear cpsc helmets, when they should be wearing nta helmets like xnito or bern hudson
I personally recommend buying the Bafang bbshd and buy power tool adaptors. You can use 20/60v max makita 18v batteries or m18 batteries. My 3,600w bbshd (luna ludicrous v1 controller) and 3x M18 12.0ah batteries in series (peaks at 63v) and a bridge rectifier that can handle 100a (1.2v drop to make the system work) and pow! I have a 4+ hp ebike with power tool batteries.
2020 and we still have no cheap hi quality lithium batteries... this is pretty much the only choice to avoid those horrid chinese lithium packs... or way overpriced prebuilt ones just because it the new hip thing... makes me sick.
Watching this cause I just used a craftsman 60volt and parts of the weed eater to make it snap in.. 48-60v controller . Simplest thumb throttle . I'll up load the video tomorrow after the first test
I would start with using 24 v dc batteries and then hook them up in series. Stay away from 18 v - go with anything that are increments of 12 v like 24 and 48 and on. Thumbs up.
ive done it.. on ma very old (+-10yr) 36volt 16amp peak ebike.. 3d printed adaptor to hold battery as 3p2s , and so the battery is already some 2p5s , that so make a total of 6p10s of 2200mah li ion.. for 180 eur total, (adavantage vs china is cell are 3yr under guarantee:)
Check your pins in the battery. When. You insert the shade bits it widens the contacts in the battery & the tool pi s are very thin. Just bend the battery pins back to original space & it will work. I done this to jump my truck & same results after using spade terminals- or you would seen smoke & smelled melted solder from the battery to actually damage it. Just my thoughts.
Great work. Just ruined two brandnew dewalt drills........ hahahahaaaa just to ride a bike for 20 minutes. Genius. This must be one of the most stupid videos on youtube ever.hahahaaaa

"18v in series or 60v power tool battery combo"
What???
@@Jakeisks "18v" with 3 bats in series makes the same voltage that "60v" makes. Basic stuff.

You should make a video about it
Good luck with it are intended to give you an 9am appointment for a couple
"20/60v max makita 18v batteries"
I don't understand that... 60v?
3x20v = a 60v makita batery
Or 1+1:20vx3 = 60v to 10ah

lost me on the second line...
Cool Bike you should make the plywood box out of plexi glass
Excellent investigation
Wal-Marts hart tool has a 40v line of batteries that would be perfect for that
Wal-Mart = cheap Chinese.

how do youse connect all those led acid batteries toegether too power it
Add them in series to get 48v
@@KiwiMaker thank you what charger did you use and did you use a fuse kit for your controller
Comon you did not even use it for ebike, where' is the actual ebike demo using drill batt?
Can I use a portable lithium power bank directly to the motor?
lol usb ebike? XD
Expensive but does the job well
Do you need a inline fuse too do this ,or is it ok,
Damn dude that's an expensive drill
Be careful not to run the batteries to low
Why not?
@@alaukikdeepboparai8131 there is a point where it won't charge back up sometimes
Just ran it to low just need to open it up and charge cells dewalt has the low voltage shut off in the tool
Ohhh that makes sense! im just used to the bms charge controller being on the battery itself.

Yes good idea, I was just hoping I could use some batteries that I already had 😃

I don't understand,why I need a controller?
The hub motor has a chip inside.. it needs 5volt source and also has its own three smaller hall wires that get signal from it
I have dewalt batteries, how do I safely connect them in series for 36 v ,what method of connection that is secure?
Isn't 60 volts a little too much for 48 volt battery. I thought that 54 volts was about as much for 48 volt battery???
The 54v and 60v are the same battery, just labeled differently depending on the country.
350w probably ideal for ebike you got a motorcycle hubmotor
Haha yeah its pretty powerful :)
U are a genius
Genius ideas! Do you have a video on how to make the e-bike?
How much price $??
That was cool saved me alot of burning my tools up thanks for the video dud life saver!!! 2 👍 up !!

Oh good tip! That would make sense
Did you try powering your ebike with the 54v battery again? ... I have 3 batteries 18v 9Ah with hopes to power up a similar motor like yours.
Show it when your bike will be done

I will do a built video sometime this year.
I've used 3x18v Ryobi battery's in series on 1000w hub works well
