I was not a fan, it was so jarring at times, and honestly distracting to the video, because the camera person had to frame Linus to one side of the screen just so we can see a pissed off looking girl playing a switch, for what reason? can't think of one, if Linus and his staff are attempting to be "Creative" by doing the most half assed attempt at subtle product placement, they failed bigtime.

The whole Dbrand sponsorship has always been awful.
First and foremost, this is a tech review channel. In many cases, you don't even get to see what the product looks like in their reviews because they ONLY show it with a Dbrand skin.
Btw Dbrand skins are awesome, if they pay to keep the stuff you like to see going then what’s that issue?
Stephan Stephanoff probably because she takes the focus from the thing. It was to the point thst it might as well have been titled scrapyard wars with a pointless body in the video the entire time. I would have genuinely preferred a 1/8th of the screen covered with a transparent logo rather than a pointless figure that's supposed to mimic "a real user" who in reality is someone who took from the show to be annoying in the sense of several minutes were spent with her standing there doing nothing.
The logo would be transparent and not detract from the content while video focus on her does detract from the purpose of the video because it's not scrapyard

Sell a built system and see who can get the most money for it
How the heck are they supposed to sell in a given time frame. PCs are not something you can go out and ask people to buy and even if they find someone they wont have a lot of options to choose from. Even if they plan on selling it online who knows how long it will take for the teams to find a buyer. They could make a video like that with a larger time frame of suppose months and then combine all the small clips to make a video but that would not be worth the time. So in a couple of days of challenge time it doesn't seem feasible to make a video just dedicated to selling a PC. Just selling it to a dealer wont be a fun video at all if you were going to suggest that btw.

They certainly did, and like Linus said, its because they originally paid for these, so they're trying to not lose money.
They're a small business, and if you constantly lose money on stuff like that, that you cant sell for full price, then you'll go out of business.
If you noticed, those towers were old. So they havent been able to sell them, and now they're just sitting there. The owners dont want to lose money and sell them for less than what they paid for, so they're hoping to rip some people off.
