Bloke wants half and half on his pasties in the middle of the Fastnet Race. Show him the locker where the Pot Noodles are kept, then show him the kettle, and tell him he's on his own.
I'd love to do this race. Along with the Sydney to Hobart. I'm fortunate to be able to crew on a 1995 vintage, 64' Alexander Simonis designed Robertson and Caine custom built retired Cape to Rio ocean racer, although she is now retired from racing she remains a very competitive boat capable of 25+ knots, maybe I should try and convince the owner😂😂😂. He's got two other very competitive 42' to 45' boats as well, unfortunately at 81 his racing days are behind him
The thought of doing this race is now important to me. It's many years since I last did offshore races so I have a lot of work to see if it's still for me, if I'm capable, get experience and a boat/team to do it with.
Gonna pay them a visit in the future. My only concern with the Cat is that it can't be very comfy to cross the Atlantic, I can't see any seating for the helms person. Gonna be great standing up for 3 weeks. I wonder what the average would be, the TS5 did the crossing in 11 days.
Have a look at their youtube channel - they can customise the design quite a bit, they've done ones for people in wheelchairs - Artemis their most recent boat was one.
Cats are faster than monohulls. Its simple physics. They dont heel much so they get more drive out of the same sail area. They do tend to have more leeway upwind but in a straight line, its almost no contest. Given the same design effort, a cat or a tri is always the fastest.
@3:50. "If the fruit bowl goes...it's time to reef." A quotable quote from true sailor.
Not many crews appreciate the benefits in enjoying racing. It is, and should be. what it is all about. Well done.
Nobody can take this wonderful experiance away from you :)
That’s fantastic. Fast boat and great attitude 👍🏻
Dang! Yummy looking food. The chef is a real trooper.
Having fun while racing fantastic

Whatever your chef drink, i'll have a pint of that, she has to be the happiest sailor afloat.
Great boats, and great folk too.

You can get seats as a custom option

Great,well done.
Disappointed, the video talked about the race but showed very little of it. I wanted to see the Cat sail to the wind.
and handily beaten by the Marsaudon TS42 at 1/3 of the price that won 1st price
Marsaudons should be classified as hydroplanes. They just take off...
Niiiiiiice !!
Family cat? They are hunting down some of IMOCA60s... this is crazy
