      @@improvesheffield4824 im thinking of using your method. to go in June then July and then August to see how the roses perform.

      @@Lavender-qe2xx it's well worth doing that if you have the opportunity. If I lived a lot closer I'd visit on a weekly basis to get a real indepth idea of how each Rose performs throughout the season and under different weather conditions.

      Yes. I’d only just arrived after a 2.5 hour car journey on a very hot day with the air conditioning on in my car so my throat was very dry. I got out of my car and started filming virtually straight away as I was so keen to see what the gardens had in store. In hindsight I should have had a drink before I started recording. It’s all a learning curve I suppose. I hope it didn’t put you off the video too much.

    Do you want to let us in on which Austin your smelling at 4:35? Or just pity us for not being able to smell "it"? 8:32 "This"? has only just started to come into flower "Darcey?" This is a wonderful opportunity to visit Dave Austin throughout the summer. Thank You! XOXO

    • @improvesheffield4824
      @improvesheffield4824  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks for commenting Portia. The rose at 4.35 is Tess of the Deubevilles. The one at 8.32 I don't know. My approach here was never to systematically go through all the roses and name them all. I tended to concentrate on the ones I already knew and liked or that were fully in flower.

    That place is incredible ❤️💕💕however is it allowed to include people in the video and post online without their permission?

    • @improvesheffield4824
      @improvesheffield4824  3 года назад

      Thanks for your comment JJ Johnston. In the UK yes. You don't have a right to privacy in a public space in the UK. However, as this is a privately owned space it's ultimately up to the owner what the rules are on filming. As you can find many other videos of this garden on RUclips it would be against the company's own interest not to allow people to film their beautiful gardens - and filming beautiful gardens necessarily means filming lots of people.

    • @jjjohnston545
      @jjjohnston545 3 года назад

      @@improvesheffield4824 thanks for the response. Yes definitely in their interest to allow filming however in North America including customers in the video without consent could be an issue.

    • @improvesheffield4824
      @improvesheffield4824  6 лет назад +2

      Thanks for your kind words Caroline. It's Tess of the Deubevilles. I went back a month later to see what was still in flower and you can see me waxing lyrical about it again at around six minutes. There wasn't as much flower on it as there was in late June but it seems to be a good repeater although I think it does require full sun. There was one at the entrance to the cafe in the old barn that's in half sun and there was no sign of any flowers on it so it's not the most floriferous but the large blooms (which droop a little) and knock out scent more than make up for it imo.

    Hi whats the rose at 4.22 please

    • @improvesheffield4824
      @improvesheffield4824  3 года назад

      Tess of the Deubevilles. Knock out scent but it must have full sun to keep flowering. I've got one that only gets sun half the day and it doesn't do much after the first flush.
