Nice story. What a loyal and loving horse the Doctor had. It also says a lot about the Doctor and how kind he was to his horse.. 🍃♥️🕊

I also have passed by this place many times and wondered what the little fenced spot was. After the wreath someone puts up a Texas star. I am so very glad to know this now. Thanks TCR.

Good deeds are like a pebble dropping in smooth water. From the heartland of Texas to the shores of Puget Sound, we honor and respect a Texas tradition. You never know how your actions can affect others, nor how far that influence can travel.

What 7 people did not like this as of July 8. This is such a country thing, a Texas thing that no city dweller could understand it.
    And that is a pity.

I'm a city dweller, who understands this. I'm even originally from Sacramento, California, been in Oregon 20 years, but have lived in 8 different states when I was younger. Smallest place was Emerado, North Dakota. Was living in that tiny town, just outside the gates of Grand Forks AIr Force Base, 25 miles East of the town of Grand Forks. Although I certainly didn't appreciate the -60° winters, I did appreciate the town and the people. I've been to 30+ states, however I've yet to go to Texas.
With how far leftest this place is and is continuing to go further, I've genuinely been considering moving to Texas. I have family and countless brothers and sisters in Christ there that I've met through ministry. I already love the people and places of Texas. Which is why I subscribe to this wonderful channel. 🙂

My wife and I stopped by this place last Saturday while doing a little Mothers Day Weekend day trippin'. I've know of this fence, and a bit of Old Joe's story for a bit over 40 years now. Only following our recent stop to I take the time to research the real story as found here. Happens that what I recalled from decades ago wasn't too far from the truth.
I have known others in the Multer family - all good and Godly people.
Thank you for reporting this to the world. Love and respect for God's beasts of burden are always heartwarming and tend to renew our confidence in mankind.
...By the way, on both Google Maps and Google Earth you can zoom in on the location and see the picket fence the satellite view as well as Street View. It's at:
    Runnels County
    Texas
    31.672826, -99.925089
    Take a look sometime!
Y'all be blessed in all ways, always.
