DGC is an amazing company. Mike is such a great guy and is one of the few people I know that follows the EOS system for running a business that I follow as well. He absolutely deserves all of the success he has worked so hard to achieve. Great video, Dan!
I've watched multiple RUclips beard reviewers review Detroit Grooming Co. I can honestly say your review of it and the passion you appear to have for the products has finally convinced me to try them out.
Had a lake/pool day yesterday. Rockin with belle isle butter today for a chill recovery day. Orchard lake and belle isle are my favorites! Orchard lake- sweet, sophisticated and warm vanilla/orange. Belle isle- makes me feel close to nature, like a natural smelling Midwest field.
Everything in this video is straight up facts! DGC is easily one of my two favorite companies. The scents are phenomenal. My first “legit” beard product was the Leland butter, and I still love the scent. It’s just super clean and fresh. Orchard Lake is wonderful. I went through my Belle Isle, so I need to get another one. One thing I’ve noticed is that their scents (especially in their butters) are long lasting, so if you put them in at night, you’ll still smell it in the morning...and it still smells clean and fresh. Mackinac is a must have. Traverse City is a super good version of a cherry tobacco. Their oils feel awesome in beard, absorb well and allow for great styling. This company is the real deal. I would highly recommend them for both the beginning and veteran beardsmen! Great review Dan and Sam!
Third place 🥉... I don’t mind😂😂 You had me at leather! Didn’t even know that they had an oil with leather in it. Corktown is one of my all time favorite butters and I admire/appreciate Mike as a person and an owner. There’s something very gentle and genuine about him.
Hands down my favorite beard company! Their passion for quality ingredients and variety of simple yet unique scents make it almost impossible to not use this as your daily product line. Personally I’m all about the Traverse City 🍒
I have only tried Detroit Beard Butter Belle Isle but best beard butter I have used. Way above other beard butters and very relaxing makes my beard feel great .
I love this conditioner. I also use their beard butter. I like how this company has great products and they're generous with how much they give you. Other companies give you way less for the same price.
I love their oils and butters.. but I also emailed them and asked if they could put a larger size shirt for me to buy.. I was actually mailed a shirt and some Stickers for free.. I would have never expected or asked for that.. but they were so awesome and did that! I will never have a bad thing to say about Detroit Grooming!
Dan C. brought me to Detroit Grooming and their products will keep me coming back. Started out with Traverse City oil & balm followed by Corktown oil & balm. My beard really responds well to their stuff....the butter is🔥🔥🔥
Awesome Video DanC! SamC my trusted sniffer for all things beard related! Looking good lady 👍 Detroit Grooming Co. aka DGC isn’t just “A Must Try” Company.... They are a “MUST HAVE” Company. Phenomenal all around. Everything about DGC is quality. From their beard products, hair products, and even down to the apparel... All Quality and 🔥. Mike genuinely gives a you know what. The amount of research, science, trial and error etc... that goes into their product lines is next level. DGC is ABSOLUTELY focused on continuing to improve, and upping the game! When your are satisfied, that’s when you start to slip up. That’s when the market average passes you by. That’s when you lose customers, and lose your business. Ain’t happing here folks! One of my favorite companies, Top 5 for me, no question about it. 🔝 At this point I would talk about what products I like, what scent profiles I like, etc... but there’s no point. Everything is worth getting. I’m fortunate enough to have all of the butters, the strong hold wax, beard oils etc.. Beard Poo Wash for me is right there at the top when it comes to Beard Washes. I’ve been waiting for their Conditioner to come out, and can hardly wait any longer! It’s been a long process with the conditioner, AND I LOVE THAT. No rush to market, no shortcuts, no BS. Just hard work, and dedication to providing us with not just the best feeling, and smelling beard products they can produce, but the highest quality, safest, and most beneficial products for our beards! Can’t say enough good things about Mike, and DGC. If you haven’t tried them, you need to... You’re doing a disservice to your beard by not having DGC products in your rotation. 💯 Staying in my rotation forrrrrrrevvvvvverrrrrrr. 🙌
Hi Guys, im only 4 months in growing my yeard and i bought my first product from DG, Cork Town butter. Changed my bearded life fellas, my absolute favourite beard company. Do yourself a favour guys get on it. Cheers brothers.
I like her even more now, I also don’t like people.👍😁 you totally sold me on Detroit brand even though it’s a bit more expensive but I’m a firm believer in you get what you pay for.
I love this company and I have only gotten their butter. I am ADDICTED to their Belle Isle scent. My wife loves it as well and it is her favorite scent out of everything that I have ever gotten. I love how you mentioned that they started from the bottom and reached success. Their customer service was great and the success has not gone to their head in a negative way. You can tell they take pride in their success and understand and thrive on their roots. I need to get me some more products and apparel! Loving that hat, Dan! Thanks for posting.
Corktown, my wife loves it. The other day my 12 yo daughter got a whiff after i just put it in. She responded the same. That smells so good, that's my favorite, she said. Every oil and balm I try, I compare to DGC. My 2 companies are Fresh Beards and DGC. I don't have $$$ to try a company and be disappointed. These two companies are my favorite. Fresh Beards has the BOGO each month, hard to pass up.
Corktown and Black are two incredible scents! I may need to give the others a shot sometime. Will definitely need the butter when the whiskers grow back.
Corktown butter has grown on me. Can’t say I really get any of what it’s supposed to be lol. But it’s still a good scent. Then again I love traditional cigar blends so that’s what I was expecting, and like you said it’s definitely not that.
Even with a discount, I'm just not thrilled with the prices. Not to mention that their true balm (wax) comes in only one scent and there's no oil to match is a downer.
I have not tried them yet, however I will. At the moment I am home off of work with a back injury so we are watching expenses. I’ll use what’s on hand. They are very high on my list to try.
I'd wanted to try Detroit Grooming for the longest time. Obviously, I'd heard a ton of incredibly great things about them. My initial hang up was the cost. With so many great companies at a lower price point, it made it difficult to get past. Earlier this year, he brought back the butter sampler pack and I pulled the trigger. It is merely spectacular! I've already gone back and purchased larger butters. It's easily worth every penny! I can't wait to have more "room on the shelf" to try more of their products!
I had sunburn on my head after the 4th and used The butter on my head.. it honestly helped me so much with the healing and the peeling! And I absolutely love it in my beard!
I have no problem pouring Detroit Grooming oils. Great Company. Thanks for all you guys do. The way I see it you have saved me money, since I have been subscribed I haven’t wasted my time and money on sub par products.
I live in Southgate, MI and it's definitely cool having a company like this so close and their Corktown/Traverse City butters were among the first things I ever bought and used when I first started growing my beard; great stuff for sure!
Man, had no idea someone with such a successful company would face such hardships and the rebranding couldn’t have been easy. I just ordered the black beard butter and I’m super excited to try it out. Great video as always man, have a splendid weekend.
@@DanCBearded loving them My 2 new favorites. I am definitely goimg to try more of their products. I love that they are Michigan made. I think I'm going to try "Woodward " and "Belle isle:
Definitely had to give this a try. Dan C obviously can not say enough about them and as you can see, this is another company he gets excited and really into when doing reviews on them. The first scent I went with was the Belle Isle. I have to say, not really what I expected, doesn't mean it's not a good scent. I like orange/citrus scents but the lavender side kind of overpowers the orange a little bit. I really can not wait for summer to get the orchard lake oil and butter. This oil and butter though is definitely the best feel in beard that I have tried this far in my beard journey and ive tried a few companies. I can't wait to try other products and scents that they have to offer. This is just the beginning. Everything I am seeing about this company is top notch as well
Reasons I haven't tried them yet despite the fact I really want to: 1. The price 2. I hear so many reviews raving for each scent, I don't know what to get. If I choose a scent, I like to go all out. Oil, wash, conditioner, butter, and balm. Reading the description sometimes doesn't match the scent exactly, and for each person, it's different. One guy smells more sandalwood, for instance, than vanilla, or you don't smell bergamot as much. I know it's just my personality, but maybe I need to call them and ask.
Detroit grooming is awesome I tried the beard butter. The selection on just the beard butter are great. I will most definitely suggest this to anyone looking for an awesome beard company. I must thank Dan C the trusted teacher for good reason. 👍
Detroit Grooming is my favorite company out of any. I love the oil, I swear by the butter, I use the Poo all the time. Yes I call them a "treat" company as I love them so much but since they aren't cheap, I use other's products so I don't run out to soon or have to reorder quickly. It could cost twice what they are charging and I'd still buy from them but again not on a regular basis because of cost, but their products are well worth whatever they charge for them. I work with a huge group of Marines and though they don't have beards, they are constantly showering, during the day and I took "Black" to work and that is their favorite scent to put on after showering or use the Black Poo in the shower. All the bearded guys will fight over the Black Oil and Butter. Another just huge fan of the company and always have at least one of their products at all times and always on my "If you want to get me something for Christmas - hint hint" list. I personally don't mind the Corktown, but it does sometimes smell like an ash tray to me. I have to give a tub of the butter to a guy because of it, but "HE LOVED IT?"
I love the beard butter in the green container that is peppermint and cedar scent. Just opening up the container my 2 year old son shouts out “it smells” that’s his way of just saying he can smell something. It smells so good.
Can’t say enough about this company Dan! Since using them, I haven’t looked back at any of the other products. The butters are top notch and their oils are amazing. Thanks for sharing this awesome video Dan🤙
Been trying these guys out and MAN what good stuff!! Detroit grooming is a great weapon in any bearded armory for sure! The butter is strong 💪 love it 🙌 DudeBro Approved
I ordered some belle isle because of your last video and I've tried it the last 3 nights and I quite enjoy it. I personally get more orange smell then lavender but still a very pleasant smell. Now you guys want to make me try the Leland so bad! Keep up the great video.
I've got all the butters, each scent is incredible and the butter itself is the best. I'll use them at night and during the day. Also have the oil in corktown and traverse City. Again amazing scents and oil is great in beard. In my top 3 favorite companies.
My only experience is their Leland beard butter. Great stuff. About to make an order. Thanks for the updates. And man your beard has gotten massive! Good luck with the start of the year.
When it comes to beard butter, DGC sets the bar! I've used butters from many different companies and most are great, but DGC is excellent! The BLACK is an Amber and Bourbon scent Dan C. It's my fav followed by Corktown. I absolutely love the scent and feel of the STRONG hold beard wax. I too agree that it's basically a balm. You could always use an unscented oil with it. I'd like to see a Sandalwood and Bourbon oil made myself.
Just ordered Black and Corktown beard oil and butter. Was hoping to grab Leland but that's always sold out. Thanks for the recommendation and I'm bummed they discontinued their apparel and hats. They look so clean wanted to grab one.
Picked up a Corktown Oil about a month ago and really enjoy it... Just recently picked up the butter to go with it along with the BI oil and butter as well... They do offer droppers now to purchase with your oil... I wouldn't trust myself hand pouring that stuff... LOL
I have been using their beard poo, I think it's great I use the corktownjust placed my order for Belle Isle and Orchard lake my Son uses the black and we are very happy with Detroit grooming looking forward to the vanilla orange sent but at the same time kind of feel like a traitor because I love Uncle Donnie's vanilla Orchard.funny how you been talkin about Mackinac I was on the old u.s. Coast Guard cutter Mackinaw out of cheboygan Michigan in the late 80s and 90s
I just tried DGC the other day for the first time . Very impressed! The sent wasn’t to overwhelming and the ease of applying it to my beard was on point . thank you for the recommendation.
The corktown butter by Detroit grooming is an absolute favorite for me and the wife. It always dominates my other butters and the scent lasts all day! Love Detroit Grooming Co. And also just ordered their conditioner since scotch Porter switched their formula.
DGC is hands down my go to, I’ve tried numerous times to find and purchase the black SnapBack hat and shirt , but they seem to never be available.... hopefully soon?????
New to Detroit Grooming so have used only the Corktown Corktown beard butter in the morning and at night, happy with the feel and results plus the scent is not too strong or over powering, will be trying other of their products. Side note: since my hair is cut short, my partner tried to get me to use the butter on my scalp guess she likes the scent
So far I've tried their butter sample kit and I love ALL the scents lol. But for some reason I'm just addicted to the Traverse city scent and absolutely have to get it in oil soon lol. Amazing quality too, I have other butters I love but this is probably my top favorite and will absolutely be getting other stuff from this company.
I got the sample pack of the butters and love all of them. But I really enjoyed Leland the most and ordered a 4oz. Now I love Traverse City also Haha. They are all smell so good though. Amazing products! I also got the wax and agree is more of a balm than a wax. I still like it though. I will definitely buy more from Detroit grooming.
Thanks for the video Dan & Sam (the nose knows). The only personal experience I have is with Belle Isle butter, a great night time scent that lets me wake up with a soft beard that only has minimal tangles. I bought two "pomades" for my sixteen year old grandson. He likes the Matte Mud results over the Lo Shine but prefers the scent of the Lo Shine and asked me if the Matte Mud came in Kentucky Bourbon like the Lo Shine. Too bad, so sad.
I love DGC I have 6 of there scents. I just got Mackinac in just there oil from someone online and I wish I could find it in butter because I like the smell of it.
Well done. You keep piquing my interest in the company, and like you, I always listen to what the owner has to say. I use a variant of your pour procedure. Badger advocates your palm technique but their bottle has a wide throat. I copied my approach to an open-throat bottle from Hirsute for Happiness and Gray Bailey/George Bruno, which is to cover the bottle with a finger-pad, upend, return, and repeat with as many pads as you wish for the amount of oil. I use 3 pads, or 3 done twice each, or 6. You can do as many as you like. Hirsute for Happiness demonstrates another technique covering the bottle with a fingertip, tipping it, and easing the fingertip off while sliding the bottle along a finger or fingers of the other hand to make a conduit applying a stream of oil to each finger. In all cases, rub fingers or hands together and apply as usual. Good grief this description is long!!
I just started buying from this company and I am thoroughly impressed with everything. The beard butter is the bomb and my go to has been the Black. I'm looking forward to testing out the other scents
I love there butter. It feels fantastic in beard and easy to apply. The couple scents I have tried are more on the subtle side and I mostly smell the carrier’s but it is a present experience.
That is soooo cool. You gonna gain wait again Dan! Hahahaha. Congratulations to both of you. Boys have a little sister to protect. Totally rad! Congrats Sam!!! I have identical twin girls and they are 13 years old and just started 8th grade. Girls are sooo much fun! Just wait Dan.
I bought the sample butters, and I really didn't care for the scents. I was really expecting to like Corktown, based on what I've heard about it, but it actually reminds me of A&D ointment. 🤷♂️
Dan, I tried the beard wax - it works well but it smells like cheapest cologne I've ever smelled. I don't use it anymore bc of the smell. This is the only product from Detroit Grooming Co. that I haven't enjoyed.
Not cheap that true ! Always enjoy your videos with your wife. That’s cool she supports you. With your beard 🧔 stuff. Not a lot woman support there men. Good for you brother.
I love Detroit grooming. The most quality product in the game. If u want unique crazy smells u might be disappointed but their smells r on point. And I could care less what it smells like the butter is amazing. In beard is amazing. And dry skin. I work in ditches all day and it rained really bad the other day and my rain boots had a hole n em. So my feet were soaked all day and felt terrible for the next couple days. So last night I had a little extra on my hands and rubbed it on my feet. And it felt nice . So.i applied a bit.morw and this morning they feel.perfect. I love it
Great company & excellent product! I love LeLand, Orchard Lake & Belle Isle in oil & butter! You can't go wrong by having any of those DGC in your hair, skin & beard! Especially in your beard. I notice my beard loves it and it obeys as you style your beard. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I dropped damn near $100 on this company. And I’m not ashamed to say that. I will double it next time i order. Lol. And I’m super late to the party. But im really waiting on my bday to come for my next order in 2 weeks
Just got my first samples butter set yesterday, boy oh boy, every one of those scent are amazing, starting with black, Corktown, traverse, first and most, They smell like amazing, and The softness feeling you get after applying is unbelievable! I will order more, thank you Dan c for introducing Detroit grooming company🙏🙏
Great review on this amazing company. After watching this video I had to get me some corktown butter (I am avid cigar smoker). This would be my second product from Detroit Grooming (first product Belle Isle...one of my favorite butters) Thank you teacher. Keep up the fantastic work. Keep bearded!
I'm a huge fan of the Black and Corktown butters. I thought I'd try the Sturgis oil but it seems that the Sturgis scent is now only available as a solid cologne. Did they stop doing it as an oil?
Hey Dan..again and always..thanks for all you do..received my first order of some DCG oil and butter and noticed there oil bottles are different from there description on their website..question..how long ago did the change happen..not that it matters to me..just curious..absolutely love the product..JP

Absolutely!
I absolutely love DGC products. Quality ingredients, great scents... you can tell they are passionate about grooming. Thanks Dan C 🙏
I ordered some belle isle because of your last video and I've tried it the last 3 nights and I quite enjoy it. I personally get more orange smell then lavender but still a very pleasant smell. Now you guys want to make me try the Leland so bad! Keep up the great video.
Leland....you had me at mango & lime 🤯
The cherry tobacco bears butter is fucking amazing
I've got all the butters, each scent is incredible and the butter itself is the best. I'll use them at night and during the day. Also have the oil in corktown and traverse City. Again amazing scents and oil is great in beard. In my top 3 favorite companies.
I'm just a minute from Sturgis, I don't smell any of that stuff when I'm in town lol!!
Haha
My only experience is their Leland beard butter. Great stuff. About to make an order. Thanks for the updates. And man your beard has gotten massive! Good luck with the start of the year.
Great product.Dan your right about these products.
Great Butters! TC and leland were lighter on scent than I hoped but nice. Corktown is awesome! I'm still waiting for a Sturgis Butter!
Leland should be coming back soon!
Love Detroit Grooming. I have tried multiple versions of their products. They are my go to.
congrats the one and only dan c trusted teacher !!!!
Thank you!
Just ordered cherry tobacco, and cork town butter 👍 great review mate
DT Corktown is a nice butter but I don't like the smell.
Picked up a Corktown Oil about a month ago and really enjoy it... Just recently picked up the butter to go with it along with the BI oil and butter as well... They do offer droppers now to purchase with your oil... I wouldn't trust myself hand pouring that stuff... LOL
haha too funny!
I use Leland. It smells bomb and my hair soaks it up.
Congrats Dan and Sam! Another terrific review of a company I can’t wait to try
I love their Orchard Lake beard butter, and I just ordered the same beard oil scent.
Oh awesome!
So far I've tried their butter sample kit and I love ALL the scents lol. But for some reason I'm just addicted to the Traverse city scent and absolutely have to get it in oil soon lol. Amazing quality too, I have other butters I love but this is probably my top favorite and will absolutely be getting other stuff from this company.
congratulation guy to both of you !!
I’ve only tried their butter but I absolutely love it!!!!
Thanks for steering me right! 313 scent is Amazing!!!
Perfect!!
Detroit grooming is a great company!! Need to get some swag one day soon.
I have DGCs butter and love it!
Haven't tried them yet, but excited to try them, and Husky.
Awesome!
@@DanCBearded 🙂
That’s my collab with them. It will be back! It seasonal
@@DanCBearded okay good
The butter is the best!
I love there butter. It feels fantastic in beard and easy to apply. The couple scents I have tried are more on the subtle side and I mostly smell the carrier’s but it is a present experience.
Thanks Jon!
My favorites are belle isle and Leland
@@DanCBearded, I take back what I said. Smelling it in the container doesn't do it justice. I put some Corktown on, and I like it!
I love it
Awesome, thanks for the feedback Martin!
Any way you can convince the guys from Detroit grooming to make a camouflage shirt
I will work on it!
Any reason you don’t use any of their butter in the day
Great review as always Daniel🥳
I dropped damn near $100 on this company.
And I’m not ashamed to say that. I will double it next time i order. Lol. And I’m super late to the party. But im really waiting on my bday to come for my next order in 2 weeks
That is so awesome to hear!!
I am trying to tell people... I do not play games lol
Just ordered the wash and conditioner :) made sure to use the the code!
thank you
Thank you brotha!!
Great review on this amazing company. After watching this video I had to get me some corktown butter (I am avid cigar smoker). This would be my second product from Detroit Grooming (first product Belle Isle...one of my favorite butters) Thank you teacher. Keep up the fantastic work. Keep bearded!
Oh mannnnn, prepare to love the Corktown. It is their most popular one
I love their beard butters!
Same!!
Great review brother!!! Love this owner. I need to get some
I'm a huge fan of the Black and Corktown butters. I thought I'd try the Sturgis oil but it seems that the Sturgis scent is now only available as a solid cologne. Did they stop doing it as an oil?
How did I miss this video
Some of my favorite beard products
Hey Dan..again and always..thanks for all you do..received my first order of some DCG oil and butter and noticed there oil bottles are different from there description on their website..question..how long ago did the change happen..not that it matters to me..just curious..absolutely love the product..JP
DGC has slowly been switching the bottles over on their website for the last 3-4 months. It is almost always updated on the site though.
Haven't tried them out. Want to buy the butter sample pack but it's sold out.
