Another great video - I have a plastic vent on my Lancia Montecarlo with a small section missing that I can easily build up using this method. Saved a few quid - thanks a lot.

That was interesting Jeff, looking forward to the LED stuff hoping to do some of that on my car.

On a gap that wide, it would be a good idea to put a couple of reinforcement wires in.
The shop that I worked for a while repairing thermoforming molds, we would drill a 1/16" hole in each side of the gap, and insert a wire bridge of sorts for extra support. We used basically the same material you are using....Bill

Maybe if you use release on the metal band it will keep the bond adhesive from sticking to it.

I was enjoying the mustang deluxe steering wheel repair, but I can find the follow up video. Does it exist? Don't leave me hanging. Thanks Kevin

Sorry Kev, that video shoot did not turn out enough useful footage to be called a video...

mustangcarcenable, The rear vents bolt through the body. Rear seat will need to be removed if it is installed, you'll have to remove the inside rear panels to gain access to the area where the vents bolt through. Not sure how tough it will be to attach them with the rear glass installed, that may need to be removed as well. The vents have a threaded shaft on them and you used nuts to attach them to the body. Contact us at our web site if you need more assistance.

Could you please let me know what you use to paint the wheel.

I use brown base with a darker brown wash over the top of it. Then go in with a semi-gloss clear.

Gday buddy watching from the land down under. I am currently working on my GT/Mustang steering wheel, I have been looking at your videos and was wondering what happened to video 121. I am keen to see what you do next and how they turned out. Thanks Dean from Australia

Nice work! How did the 67' wood steering wheel turn out? I cant find a video showing the completed repair.

We stopped work on it because the guy sold the car before we could get it done. LOL

PLASTEX has a reusable mold material. Better, easier and cleaner than plaster.

I'd be very careful of this Weirdo ...
Who goes about licking a steering wheel after telling the viewer's in the video that the 3 steering wheels stink like vomit (approximately 50 years of Bacteria build-up) perfect place for any possible VIRUSES. His work colleague wouldn't smell it ...
    Who's he calling loopy ?
I don't think loopy people (as he called them for not having a handle on a hacksaw blade) would lick steering wheels.
And we didn't see the end result of the restoration ?
Is it because he got sick from steering wheel licking ?
Waste of 20 minutes of viewing ...

Still here...yep, regret not finishing that wheel. Love acting weird, keeps the real weirdos at bay that "waist time" watching my videos. Now I'm wondering...do you wash up every time you drive your classic car?
