This is a upgrade to our parallel battery setup here:
• How to Get 80km on you...
We focus our efforts everyday not just in improving our ZERO scooter performance but also in improving everybody's experience on any e-scooter or PEV. We want to ensure the best suitability for your needs and to keep improving your scooters usability to the general public.
Introducing our universal (24-52V) solid state switch that aims to combine any 2 batteries (of the same voltage) in parallel, without capacity restrictions like before. For controllers that can take a range of voltages, you can even parallel batteries of 2 different voltages safely using this switching system.
For the ZERO 10X for example, you have the 52V 18ah or the 23ah. Combine them with a 7Ah battery if needed using our solid state switch. Or with a 28ah battery! Its universal and extremely versatile.
It comes in 2 forms: manual switching or auto-switching. Manual switching has a smaller form factor but required a button press. Auto-switching does not require a button press but has a larger form factor.

Wow I gotta tell you that I love the solution because it creates a lot more range for your bike specially for miles it is so hard to pedal without the battery in so many ways. 👍👍👍
I really would like to do something like this on my scooter, however I am a beginner when it comes to batteries or electronics for that matter - however I do have mechanic skills. Could you consider making a beginner tutorial to understand the different aspects of batteries as they relate to E-scooters? (e.g Wattage, mAH, voltage, controllers, etc.)
Thank you already for lending us your knowledge and keep up the good work!
We have an updated video here but I’m not sure if it serves your needs: ruclips.net/video/AQzgHNZyN6o/видео.html
Wire in parallel or separate easier just unplug it bro
😊😊😊
I use 2 batteries of the same capacity in parallel with a solid state switch DC relay voltage 24-52V manual SPST switch combination, but when I switch from the main battery to the sub battery, the capacity drops to about 1.5-1.7. If you don't run carefully, the battery will go up on the way home.
As long as the battery is voltage matched, you can just wire them in parallel and you don't even need a switch. They will balance charge. I've done it on my M365 clone.
That’s what many non industry people believe. Voltage has to be matched and also within a certain charge voltage. If one battery is at Low charge and one is full charge then it’s bad for the Low charge battery to be charging and discharging
@@FalconpevSg Yes, to ensure safety you would need to make sure both battery packs are charged to the same voltage before connecting them in parallel. One can argue with the BMS in play that you might have a lot of leeway in how different the voltages can be tolerated.
@@alanhonlunli thank you for this insight
@JiggyDancer is there no effect and damage to controller?
@@leovenericksonlorin9000 what matters to the controller is the voltage of the circuit. That doesn't change when you connect batteries in parallel.
This is a great solution, but only if you plan for disconnecting the external battery for other things than your scooter. Otherwise it would be better to wire them i parallel directly (matching voltages) to take advantage of the lower voltage sag. With lower voltage sag you are also able to drain the batteries more (in case you need that extra range) before low voltage cut off.
Also capacity difference between paralleled batteries are not necessary. The bigger battery will take a larger proportion of the load and the voltages will be equalized between the two.
From our experience, connecting batteries with different voltages will result in the higher voltage battery charging the lower voltage battery causing damage in the long term due to the high current surge. You are correct on the voltage sag issue esp for high current usage. But another downside of connecting two different capacity batteries means that you do not maximise each batteries capacity as one battery will be used to charge another. We have found that this method is safer and more efficient in the long term health of the batteries.
@@FalconpevSg in terms of voltage that is not what I said. The voltages have to match very closely when connecting (or else high in rush current will flow from high voltage to low as you say) and of course the packs must have the same amount of series connected strings (eg 13S for a 48V battery).
The last thing is simply not correct. You can deplete the batteries even more when they are paralleled partly because of the lower voltage drop/sag, and partly because of lower current draw per series string - and you know from all battery tests that the higher the current draw the lower the capacity.
@@simonmllerkristensen9640 we beg to differ but there will be no end to this discussion. Point noted.
@@simonmllerkristensen9640 anyway we made a parallel battery for the zero scooters 2 years ago. This is a safer option that is developed with another use case scenarios in mind. The fact is you don’t have to maintain both internal and external batteries at the same voltage is a very big advantage. Check out our parallel battery set up here ruclips.net/video/ejyIzqAz_tI/видео.html
@@FalconpevSg and that is totally fine. But your understanding of battery capacity are flawed unfortunately. Parallel two batteries is the exact same as one big battery. And a bigger battery (in terms of Ah) have less current draw per cell giving more useable watt hours per cell (check every single battery test with 1,2,5 and 10 A draw)
Can it work with regenerative braking?
You really should not call this a parallel setup as that is not accurate. This is a dual battery system that can be switched on the fly between each. Does the smaller battery have enough capacity to not be over discharged? It would have to be using higher Amp cells than the standard pack.
yes its two isolated battery systems. ok maybe not parallel.
please make a tutorial how to install the cable.
it's unclear which switch did you use from the link you provided in the description
Is the recuperation of my scooter possible with the automatic or the manual switch?
Your scooter cannot be turned on?
@@FalconpevSg nono, I mean: Does it support regenerativ breaking? I think so because the relay doesn't care in which direction the current flows, am I right?
@@MrTrackmaniafan yes it just creates a closed circuit on either battery
@@FalconpevSg thank you, for the quick response. Does the automatic switch support regenerative brakes too, do you know that?
Can I add an external battery on the Apollo ghost with a Mach 1 upgrade?

Hi, want to ask..
Can i use 60V 15AH 18650 battery and 60V 30AH 21700 battery to this parellel connection?
Was thinking the external battery is cheaper smaller y don't he get rid of original battery and replace with 3 of them new battery packs would that be possible
Cost concerns. Why waste a perfectly good internal battery?
@@FalconpevSg thas not the point if the original battery OK or not I'm thinking Moore 3 of them instead of the original 1 would be 2x times the you could go ie distance and bit Moore power I'm saying as I have apollo ghost and maybe would like two travel 2 times the distance or use a lil of my power and no I'm going get where I'm going with out losing battery ie the faster I go the quicker the battery life so if you have 3 of them I'd be able 2 full power and still get where I need two as il have 2 times the battery life
Hi i wonder if , i have a kugoo kirin m4 pro and it has a 48v 18 ah can i add an a biger ah than the stock battery and charge them two batterys from same charge por, or i need to have same ah as the stock, will the charger burn if i have bigger ah than the stock ?
This is what i want, having a reserve battery when your internal battery is low. will this work with 36v? thinking of doing this setup, i don't want to connect both , just want to have separate internal and use as reserve the external.
Yes it will
On your website description it says
"A push button SPST switch is provided to turn on and off the solid state relay. When required to be connected to parallel batteries, you will need to use dual relays. "
If I want to use the manual switch to switch between an internal and external battery like you showed in the video does that mean I need to get two of the relays? What does it mean I will need to use dual relays? Or can I just buy one of the manual solid state relays to achieve that?
Okay so I have a 48v 13ah zero 9 scooter, am wondering if I can add a different branded 48v 30Ah lithium ion battery?? And which switch do I buy? The dual or single? As it only has rear wheel drive
Can I connect the 52v35Ah battery to the ZERO 10X's 52v25Ah controller using a parallel battery solid state switch DC relay to extend the range? Shouldn't it exceed 25Ah? The built-in battery is 52v23Ah. If you do not reply firmly, you cannot purchase a sub-battery.

( Need new Dualtron battery 🔋 that originally has Dual outputs and a single input) thanks 😊
Can I use this solid state battery in my Zero 11X? Or do I have to match the 72V 32ah battery internal inside the scooter
Hello sir I have iscoter with 36v 7.5 ah inside battery. My question is may I connect 3.6 20ah external battery in the scooter. If yes then should I need to upgrade firmware. If no then why? Please 🙏 your reply will be height appreciate. Thanks
can you connect two of these external batteries in parallel and use switch between internal and external ones?
Yes of cos but the switch needs to be spec proprietor
Does this work also for the zero 10?
This works with virtually any scooter as long as they have regular connectors.
Im trying to reduce voltage sag when I go full acceleration it goes from 65v to 60v. I want a external 15ah battery to help. Should I use a parallel switch or a parallel harness?
Its got a 60v 30ah battery 2. 45a 3000w 60v controllers I think I'm only getting like 4000w total because of the sag. Am I wrong to think that?
Use a harness not a switch

I have a scooter with a battery capacity of 60 volts, can I connect it in parallel with a battery capacity of 52 volts?
No it will spoil both batteries
I have a 48v 16ah Kugoog2pro and i have 48v 12ah external battery kit . Would module box help me ?
Honestly this device isint really necessary. If you fully charge both batteries you can connect them with a simple pigtail permanently or if you want to keep the second battery separate to where you can disconnect it just plug it into the charger port on the scooter when the scooter and external batteries are both fully charged then they will drain evenly and you will actually get better distance than using a switching device.
CAN you connect in parallel from the charge port ?

I want to double the range on my gunai scooter, do I need to slap some sort of amperage regulator in place? Or should I just install a flipper switch to toggle between batteries and install some capacitors to handle the brief second when switching over?
No there’s no need. Internally there parallel batteries will self regulate but for extra safety we have a fast switching high voltage switch
Why not simply connect both batteries in parallel instead? It would reduce the strain on the cells, keep the same voltage between both, provide a bit better range and offer stronger, more consistent performance across the board than this complicated solution.
(With some diodes if the extra battery is not permanently connected to prevent one battery to charge the other at high current)
Sounds great. But do you have a device that does that? I have two batteries: 1) 48V 26A and 48V 20A. How should I connect them?
@@GFong There are plug and play devices available (but at a cost) if making such a thing is out of your ability/comfort zone. The
DATEx2 Parallel Battery Adapter - Or Battery Blender in US, Is a prime example. It's not cheap, But design wise is the best imo. It uses XT60 sockets. And you can simply run 2 batteries of any AH or voltage and your controller though it with no hassle.
Can somebody please answer this if you know for certain; Does this work with regenerative braking? All the solid state battery balancers I have looked at for e-bikes are described as explicitly not supporting regen. I require regen for my e-skateboard build, as it is the only stopping mechanism. I want dual removable batteries to enable instant spare swaps, and convenient charging routine, leaving my rather heavy, powerful board in my car while taking just the batteries upstairs to my 3rd floor apartment (with no elevator) for recharging.
I don't believe this will work with regen braking as I tried a similar system on my 60V batteries and saw 95V being fed back to the batteries during braking.
So where do I get the cord? The button, cord or maybe a toggle switch even...
Gives the playing field more room to play. I need another tutorial please sir..
Check out link in description sir
Yes sir on top of it, like a cowboy on a horse 🐎
When you charge both of the batteries, do you need to charge them separately ( disconnected) or it is okay to charged them while they are still connected?
You can charge them together
how do you charge the second battery? i have a 52v 23amp internal and a 52v 18.2amp external battery, im gonna order the solid state switch, so how do i charge the spare battery?
Please dont do this if you dont know how to charge your battery type.
If I use 2 batteries in parallel, both 48v 15ah ? Will it then be 48v 30ah ?
Yes
