Here in the u.k - spoke to a lot of range rover owners recently , with the question of reliability . Those that had them serviced regularly at a dealership or registered repair shop , had few issues , and loved them
I always hear about these things breaking down, and I was curious to know how much that has changed or not either. I wanted a sport for a long time, but have looked more heavily into the Cayenne, because I hear about reliability issues, so much with land rover products
Not sure how I feel about the new sport. The sides still look like the old, with the Velar rear end, Evoque head lights, and the full size front bumper.
You may think the styling changes aren't dramatic, but always keep in mind that maintaining subtle changes also add to increased value for previously purchase vehicles.
80% of Range Rovers are still on the road today, the other 20% made it home. I don't care how unreliable they are, if I had that kind of money I would lease one with the best warranty money can buy.
That's why I loved Sewell BMW. Whenever my 750 was in the shop, they always asked if I wanted a loaner car. They even loaned me a brand new 750 and I loved it. The msrp was above $100,000 on it.

The RRS looks the beans, its best looking SUV sold IMO. Great job as always guys. I will get this new one in a year or so when they make this engine not in the first edition.

They need to do an update on these new Range Rovers to see if reliability improved. I would love for these to be more reliable. They’d be awesome to buy in 10 years when they become more affordable.
@@hellodzheng00 nooo actually ?? Well guess what maybe that happens to every luxury car? Cough Cough BMW M8 going from 200k to 100 within 2 and a half years. Range Rovers hold value too good here in europe
Imagine how comfortable it would be if you swapped the 20/21/22 inch rims for 17s or 18s whatever the smallest possible diameter rims would be and equipped some much larger sidewall non run flat tires. Also even quieter if you specced the sunroof delete option.
it actually would not! My 20" wheels are more comfortable than the 18 winters. All comes down to the specific tire and the stiffer it gets the more side wall it has.
@@colbycarithers well bro 20s are 245/35 you can't compare that to the Range Rover with 285/40 tires haha. Ofc run flats are a bit harder and the difference in comfort to 245/40 is huge

The 510hp 5.0L supercharged on the previous gen sounds so much better! And, I have had it since 2013 without a single problem. Think this engine will be as reliable?

I'm a wholesale Car broker. I literally buy cars on auction for a living and give them to dealers. (I'm a broker for a group of new dealerships) we have range rover, BMW, lexus, Ford, Hyundai, Honda, jeep etc, 22 stores. I know my stuff about cars okay. Here's an example from today at our Land Rover Store: someone wanted to trade in a 2019 Range Rover Sport V8 Dynamic with 36,000km and we put retail at $82,500 CAD and offered $56,490 because it needed a new sun roof(big scratch) for $10,000, new tail light for $4000, paint work for $2,500 safety, and brakes came to $4,000 tires were OK. But on the other hand, someone bought a 2023 Range Rover Sport and traded it in for a 2023 Range Rover full size and we paid what the customer paid. Easy rule of thumb in my opinion is $5-10000 depreciation a year makes sense. The low ball offers is because people don't take care of their shit - especially luxury car owners. People trade in brand new Porsches for new BMW's and the car has 10,000km and its curbed, dog chewed, bent, dinged, scratched up, brakes worn down. VS someone who trades in their Toyota they take care of it and it's mint. RANGE ROVERS ARE AMAZING your mad if you can't afford a nice new one
And also margins. If I a dealer can sell a Honda CRV in 5 days yeah they don't mind making $500. But if it takes a dealer 200 days to sell a Range Rover, they better be making $7,000. That's also why luxury cars "depciate" faster
A BMW engine in a Range Rover says it all. The BMW X7 is miles better in build quality and road feeling. Having owned the Range Rover and it constantly in the shop so I went back to the German vehicles that are so much better built. The fact Range Rover is using a BMW V8TT is exactly why one buys a BMW X7 M50i as its engineered better from the ground up using all their own engines with better tech and handles like a BMW and not a floaty boat.
I think the full size looks more sporty than the sport lol. I think the biggest problem is you have this big slab of a rear end and the rear tail-lights are simply way too small.
The previous RR Sport tail lights were way smaller, I have seen one of these in person....the rear lights are very bright and actually looks proportional and modern streamlined, its works imo!!
@TheStraightPipes 3:12 funny y'all mentioned it because this is the base spec Meridian out of 3 choices haha, but it obviously still sounds pretty decent 4:30 that is a special cloth that they have chosen to enhance speaker acoustics and for the listener to not know where the sound exactly is coming from, so that the sound stage seems larger

Our range rovers are are falling apart…. When not giving me errors and falling apart … it’s a good vehicle to drive… the door handle came apart the other day…. Supercharged V8 sounds glorious 😎
The dealer mark up on these are currently ridiculous. They're asking for 150k USD for the first edition and 120k USD for the p400. They are also adamantly firm on the asking price.
I use the fridge. Keep water in there. Very handy. But the larger point is that the Range Rover Sport is just an amazing vehicle, maybe the perfect vehicle. And I have owned most of the premium vehicles.
Its an N63 BMW engine tho, it can put over 600+ on a stage 1. Funny thing is it competes against an XM5 which uses the S63 better version of the same engine.
I just noticed in my 2023 Range Rover sport p400 se dynamic and no sliding visor and no double visor fail fail. Also the black console is so horrible I find myself cleaning it so much I ordered a 2024 Range Rover P400. You can’t even option that gloss black smear fest of a center console out of any spec . Full size also come standard with rear wheel steer which make a big difference in parking and handling. I had a 2022 Range Rover P400 but sold it for the flip then got the sport but for 15k more the full size is the way to go in my opinion.
Have you thought about getting a decibel meter so you can accurately tell us what the internal sound level is... maybe there is even an app that can do it...
Ah, then spotting that Defender in the background at the Jag/Land Rover dealership wasn't getting me excited for no reason. Look forward to that review.
Its not great, but what are you comparing it to? Land Rovers are luxury, but they're also true off-road capable. The BMW can't do that. Always compare apple to apples.
Current range rover sport owner here. 2018 facelift V8 supercharged. We drove the new body style a couple weeks ago. Thoroughly unimpressed. Admittedly, it was a six cylinder. However, it’s seriously lacking in specialness. Doesn’t have the range rover driving position, and pretty much felt like a limited Ford explorer. Sad. I was there to buy.
Great video, but I'm very disappointed they went to a turbocharged engine. I love the roar of their supercharged V8s. I'll be keeping my tuned V8 for quite a bit longer. Very nice upgrades to the interior though.
I'm truly surprised that no one cares or talks about its fuel economy (V8) in a day and age when fuel efficiency is paramount. I get that few people buy it or can afford to buy it, but still. (Love my 2.0 turbo.)
I didn't hear a range rover will be a sports car but the car is so beautiful and awesome I've heard the meridian sound before huge sound systems sound is so soft I like that one however wheels are awesome
Every one I know that owned a Range Rover always has the same result. They sold it because they were tired of paying for all the expensive repairs. They all swore they would never buy one again. I love their designs, relish them really, but I would never buy one based on what I know about their repair and maintenance costs. I just wonder why the brand can't make a more reliable rig. The technology is out there and other makes have really luxurious products that won't break the bank. RR/Jaguar needs to focus on this issue!
Having owned top of the line Benzes and BImmers (12 cyl, Ms) and Land Rovers, I can tell you from personal experience, not hearsay, that the German cars are AT LEAST as expensive to repair.
I love it but the price has gone up so much I’m not sure I can justify it over a BMW X5 M50i. Presumably if you want/need the HP you probably prefer a vehicle built to use it vs a plush ride. Beautiful none the less!
