    Here's a little video I put together illustrating the process of how to remove the stereo from a Honda Ridgeline. I know the video is a little long, but I wanted to walk you through the real-life process on how this is done. Sorry for all the "um's" ha ha.

    looks like can swap out my radio in an hour, maybe two, thanks, and the love bugs at the end were a nice touch.

    Not a cockroach... we call them "love bugs" or "Halloween bugs" they fly around aimlessly in the fall. You get a closeup of two of them mated together towards the end of the video. Good video showing removal of the radio... thanks man :-)

    Good walk through on how to do this. FYI, on top of the steering wheel cover, there's a small slotted cap (you can just see it at 5:44). Remove it and you can insert your key to release the shift lever to drop it into 3rd. No need to insert key in ignition and NO ANNOYING BEEPING! Never done it myself in my Ridgeline, but our Odyssey has this slot and I've used it to do this. I'm assuming that slot is for the same thing.

    Pretty good video - thanks for being so thorough. One thing, though, is the difficulty in removing the connectors. I found that they were extremely resistant to removal. You just pulled on the dash housing and both the AC and door light connectors popped off. I couldn’t make them budge doing that. Can’t see if there are restraining tabs or not for each of the connector types. If there are, and they’re not visible, it’s even more of a pain in the arse. Is there any helpful information about connector removal that would make this easier?

    Thank you for the video. How did you run your Bluetooth microphone? I'm having a tough time figuring out where to place it so that it has a clean look... That steering wheel adapter is going to be fun for me since I have a different brand but relatively the same connection challenge.

    Thanks so much for this. I have a 2014 limited and was told by Crutchfield not to bother, but I really hate the Honda stereo. Is it possible without major customization? DCan you recommend a kit or an online resource?

      Check out the HON-BT45. It's a bluetooth/aux adapter for the OEM stereo. Still retains subwoofer and steering wheel functions.

    I noticed at 5:44 you have a blacked out emblem. The chrome on my 06 Ridgeline "H" is coming off and looks absolutely terrible. Where did you order the blackout decal from?

    • @Archifx
      @Archifx  7 лет назад +3

      +JoshGilesMusic hey bud. Actually not a decal. Chrome was coming off of mine too so I taped it off and spray painted it black. Put a lot of news paper on the dash etc... only takes a couple of light mists. The emblem does not come off so don't try and remove it.

    I put a parking garage ticket partially in the slot of my CD player in my 2007 Honda Ridgeline and it took it right in like a CD!! Can you help me figure out if I need to take the whole radio out or do you have any ideas on how to remove the ticket? I can't see it, and the player will still take a CD in but won't play, it will eject the CD too. PLEASE help.
