- Bodyboarders find themselves alone (for the most part) on a tricky, deep ocean slab. The sets were unpredictable and hard to read on this day - but they sent it all the same!

Bodyboarding / surfing waves on reefs, in remote locations around Australia and Bali. I love both novelty and big waves! With everything that's going on in the world right now, there's nothing like getting into some waves and surf to take us away from it all. Self-isolation in some deep barrels is a valid way of social distancing!
I love exploring new waves in new locations and I love bring my viewers along my journey. Sometimes it get's sketchy as some of the waves I surf (shallow reefs, dry reefs, deep ocean slabs) get pretty gnarly. If this kind of content sounds interesting to you -- please drop a like on the video and subscribe so you are among the first to see my new vids!

Such a tough wave to read, breaking all over the place and the swell pulling you back and forth.
Going to Newport Beach, California mid July and these videos are getting me so psyched to bodyboard! Good stuff!
Are ye now, I’m in Newport, what spots you have in mind, does it start with a W
When u think ur gonna be able to get back in the water?

Hardly worth surfing this swell direction and size...or filming for that matter.
I still haven’t seen anybody hit this slab with a GoPro (hint hint) also would love to see the shape of the rock bed underneath, that produces this monster (hint hint again) GoPro!
You would have to go there on a flat day
hope everything heals quick
What happened to willy?
He got hurt there’s a video on it a few weeks ago 😢

Quick-ly, the verb “heals” needs an adverb to modify it. Too many people discarding the “ly” these days.

UPDATE ON WILLY: I cannot personally be 100% sure and I live a long way away from Australia to empirically find out, but but I will share a little research I finished yesterday. For the past three months I've been trying to find out about Willy messaging just about everybody on FB, anyone, emailing the very Willy on his address, and anyone who might have met him or known him. A guy I found who actually appears on several of Willy's videos, a great local veteran bodyboarder, who knew him from seeing him around in and out of the water, replied to me after checking with other local bodyboarders and good buddies, and they all confirmed he passed away, some time after posting this video. The cause is unknown to me. I bet his family or anyone on Willy's side would have wanted to notify us all, but I thought everyone would like to know and send their prayers to him after what I found out.
I always hoped to ask Willy to come to my Canary Islands for a vlog of his, he seemed like a scared kinda clumsy really bad LOL 😢bodyboarder but he always expelled a great vibe of humanity and good person aura that I will always remember and always was what kept me sticked to his videos through and through. I am dearly sorry to know this news and I am personally mourning him quietly and weirdly. He kinda leaves a vacuum in me, just for not being around alone.
I send my deepest condolences to his family and prayers, and deep down I want to believe that this is not true, but I believe this fellow I talked to yesterday, he seems legit and I trust him.
RIP WILLY 💓
Dude! When he rides it then pulls back up on the wave and does a barrel it really speaks to me. Good job guys if your reading your comments.
7:32 once you’re back in the water Willy I’m expecting some of these 😂 get well

Too much east in it for Suck Rock. Vooey looked better but packed of course on a day like that. We like baldy going left when he paddled out.
You’re such a legend please keep uploading brotha 💪🏻🔥🤩
Hey Willy! Ive really wanted to start getting into surf photography. I was just curious about your setup and what type of equipment you use. Thanks!
Also interested. I am using a sony a7iii and wanted to get the sigma 150 600 mm with it... Just the tripod head thats light for travelleing i am Not Sure of... Interested to See what camera and lens u are using
Dude that looks GNARLY!!! 🤙
Yeah
Do a vid in Kiama there’s a wedge and next to it there’s a perfect shore break barrel
Is it still there at kiama
If you’re talking about the wedge yes it’s still there
I live in kiama
Yep
Voo Doo, We go diving there. Underneath the wave they are riding is a huge cave..I've been there heaps of times, even on my own and never seen sharks in the cave so, No sharks boys so never fear. They can be found further east however! LOL.
GB Sailing interesting! Cave you say
I believe
@@davidfuller764 HUGE! if you just hope off your board for a bit and duck dive down you can't miss it, the roof is only 6ft underwater at low tide! There is a large trench that leads to the cave on the north side of the slab. But I typically circumnavigate the slab when I dive there. Far off to the east the bottom drops away with a big wall. That's where the sharks tend to frequent.
4:35 did he do a barrel roll in mid air after the wave spat him out?
Nope
Hi hope your having a great day where is this place
Defult._. Boi 🤦🏻♂️
Kirra point, goldy 👍🤭😂
Why are these guys going right? The left is a full slab. Looks.
Willy being good and not giving the location away to not get anyone's back up and everyone just shouts where it is in the comments! Don't name breaks in comments or he won't be welcome filming for long no matter how well known a place is.
Mate, even if its named in the comments, no one will know as its a local name for the break.
Chill ok
ADZ Out n about like Bells... just a local name.
Everyone who is over the age of 30 will know where it is
Mate. You serious. This was one of the most photographed spots during the 90’s and 2000’s. Everyone knows spots these days. Google it
I remember when I was a grom in the 90’s this spot was in almost every issue of ABB and Riptide. 🤫Loose lips sink ships.

a bodyboarder diving under the wave...
probably a seal

That day still hasn’t arrived 😏
@shane marz It is in the gold coast
@@JohnSmith-hz6ub gold coast? There is no such thing as reef slab breaks in goldly. Its all beachies and sand points with a few rocks. There is a nice bombie at Moffat beach Caloundra that throws good barrels, but its still nothing like down south. No where near the same power.
This looks like south coast. Down near Woolongong and Sydney.

How to surfers see body boarders?? Do they respect them as much a other surfers or not?

Lot of little slabs around there too ,where is this place?
Hi Willy
Hi BRO
Is it 🦈🏝️?
Love you Willy xx

Tricky xD
You boys have some sick breaks around your area.
Aye Willy as if u didn’t just fully send it in there
soooooo good and with only two buddies out....that is living...yeew!
Can we get an update on how you’re doing?
Hi BRO
Is it just me or does kicking on a bodyboard literally do nothing for moving forward
Are u wearing fins? and kicking hard under the water
How deep is the water when u are out there
Live your videos, can you film a go pro vid in Burleigh heads 👌🏼❤️👀
they should have been going left. its a freight train... the right sucks
Normally the right is way better, but this swell is not south Enough for it too be good. The left literally breaks on actually dry reef, fall in the barre at the end and ur landing on it.
Why don't they go left ..
One of God’s bets creations!
kudos for no music

Hey willy u should come to north haven it's near port Macquarie
How big are these waves?
i think 2 meters thanks to the slab
More like 3 ft xd
and here we go on the good old global argument of "how bis is a wave!"
9ft if you count the full length of the slab
5 foot wave face
This slab looks so dreamy, wonder where it is
Voo Doo, is in the Kamay National park at Kurnell in Sydney's south.
Kirra point

How dangerous and deep is it
